An elegant. Rare and well preserved Ancient Persian Bronze Age War Hammer, dating to approximately 2500- 2000 BC. The heavy weapon. Of high copper content, is of typical Elamite form, kinked, with blunt axe head on one side, the other with bulging hammer. With oval socket and four circular perforations on the body; three near the axe edge, one over the socket for securing the original wooden pole, now perished. This war hammer may well have had a ceremonial purpose, as well as a functional use. The position of the three perforations at the rear are intriguing- possibly for attachment of decorative tassels, or to bind the weapon to a shaft running over the butt. A very unusual object. This artifact would originally have formed part of the burial contents of a wealthy Elamite Warrior's tomb. The Bronze Age Peoples of Elam. A well provenanced Bronze Age pottery jug from the Persian Empire. Dating to approximately the Late 2nd to Early 1st millennium B.C. A beautifully modeled. Red ware vessel, with stout, spherical form, loop handle adjacent to a narrow, tapered spout. Incised triangular and vertical linear detail adorns the shoulder of the vessel. 19 Very Flat. Very clean and still glossy, Issues are: off center production cut, edge wear, spine stress and a 4 mm tear on back cover(see pic) also Marvel stamp has been cut out. Without the stamp I can’t grade it. If it had stamp I call it a mid-range 8, 20– see#21. A tiny, tiny bit of edge wear, other than that freakin’ mint…BUT the stamp cut out #21. This ticks me off, I got these in a big wholesale lot and was excited to see these nice bronze age comics, this one is AWSOME, it looks like it came right off the rack, glossy, nice cover cut and very few stress marks or creases(only visible in glare) and lo& behold the marvel stamp was cut out. If not for that I would have graded this an easy 9.4. Don’t know what the stamp does?

This listing is for a Completely stuffed Full Longbox of all Bronze Age Comics from the 1970's to mid 1980's. Nothing over 1985 here. It is 100% Marvel& DC. There is at least 300 comics in the box but it is stuffed full and alot of them are not bagged and boarded so there is most likely more. Conditions do vary but are at least good.
