Damage/Repair, General wear. Chips Additional Information: This head crest represents a rarely documented tradition from this Northern Nigeria region where the Niger and Benue Rivers meet. Mangam head crests like this come from the Mama people of northern Nigeria in the Benue River Valley. Mangam mask represents a bush cow with open extended mouth and with marvelously sculpted horns that extend upwards in a continuous single line to be joined at their ends. When worn it is carried on the top of the dancer's head who is surrounded with a ruff of grasses extending from the bottom of the mask that hides the dancer. Mangam masks dance during festivals celebrating funerals and during the yearly agricultural cycle. Mangam masks of this quality and condition rarely come onto the market and this mask or head crest modeled in clay represents a tradition that is rarely seen today. The uniqueness and present condition of this head crest warrants a strong presence within a collection and should be placed in a museum collection. Recommended Reading: Sieber. R. This is a 1940's Art Deco bed lamp that works but the wire is dry rotted and separated and I would want to replace the wire. It is metal and has a brass color flower and loop hook detail. Antique Victorian Eastlake wood bed and custom mattress - Turn of the century
This is an Eastlake wooden bed from the turn of the century in the original finish. It has been in my family since purchased. It has nice incise carvings and burl accents. The bed is in good condition and includes the original headboard. Footboard, and attaching side rails. It is a 3/4 size bed, so it is slightly smaller than a full size bed so I had a custom mattress made for it but full size sheets fit it fine. The custom made mattress and bunky board are in excellent condition(only slept on twice) The bed measures- 53" wide x 75.5" long. The headboard is 55" high at the tallest part and the footboard is 29" tall. The mattress measures approximately 51"x70"

The lid fits well, and the design of two oriental gentlemen in a beautiful garden is in pretty good order(it doesn't show up well in the picture but a bit of waxing will probably enhance the copper coloured lacquer against the black) There is minor wear around the rim of the base. Vintage Children's Stool Bed Table Plant Stand Red Distressed w Applique Designs
Up for auction is a nice distressed red stool or bed table recently found at auction in the Philadelphia PA suburban area. It is highly distressed from age and use with the applique decorations showing great losses and a few paint and ink stains and the spindles are missing from the two long sides. So this could not handle the weight of a child or adult standing on it but quite functional as a plant stand or bed tray table to hold laptop and files etc. I was going to paint over it but there is something very shabby chic about the natural distressing and the color is great so I leave it up to the winner to enjoy as is or give it a coat of milk paint for additonal distressing or truly any paint job in the eyes of the beholder.
