Up for auction is a magnificent sculpture by Demetre Chiparus entitled"Les Girls. Made from carved ivorine. Beautiful painted patina bronze, and sits on a black marble/onyx base. The sculpture depicts a chorus line of five synchronized dancers in matching green costumes moving in perfect unison. It measures approximately 20" tall. The arm span of all five girls is 23" The base is about 24.5" x 5" and is signed"D. H. Chiparus" on the base. Condition: The leg of the girl on the far left is br oke off. we have the piece) at the base and shows some wear around her pointed foot. The girl farthest to the right is missing one of her hands.
