Vintage, Antique, Handsewn, Old Patchwork Family Quilt Stored, needs repairs
For Auction is a Vintage. Old, Antique, Handmade, Family Patchwork Quilt that was given to me by my Great, Great Aunt in the early 1960's. She had made it as a young lady and wanted me to have it along with some other things. I was told not to use it as it was so old. It has been stored in a bag in the top of a closet all these years. I'm afraid it is fragile and faded and frayed, yet still so pretty. I've no idea if it can be restored or used or hung as a wall piece. It has some tears along the center fold line and some stains. Rare Pineapple Patchwork Quilt- Antique
Very Rare Variation on the Pineapple Patchwork pattern- Turn of the century- circa At least 134 years old. Good condition for it's age. Shirting and feed sack materials used in this variation of the Pineapple pattern Colors are gorgeous I do see two places. Less than an inch each showing some wear on binding On one of the corners. There is a bleach 1" x 1/2 inch- if you would like, I can put bleach on this spot to turn it white- so there is no yellowing color, it would be white. Almost did not see 3 small age spots on one corner No holes. Rips, only the wear starting on the two places on the binding and the bleach spot show this antique I believe it is in good condition for it's age. Antique Log Cabin Quilt - 75 x 75 - Patchwork Quilt
Antique/Vintage Quilt Hand stitched. Log cabin pattern quilt with a peach colored binding around the edge. Measures 75" x 75" It was photographed on a double bed. The thickness of the mattress was about 11.5" which gives you an idea of how it might cover your own bed. There are two squares of faded striped material as well as the cream colored fabric on the back side(see photo 6) This quilt is in very good condition. There aren't any rips, holes or other flaws that I can find except for a couple discolored areas on the backside that I photographed. If you have any questions or would like to see more photos let me know. I am estimating the age to be from the early 1900s by looking at the fabric patterns, material, stitching, and size.

AFRICAN AMERICAN QUILT VINTAGE ANTIQUE 1950s CANDY CANE PATCHWORK PINK RED BLUE HERE WE HAVE AN ORIGINAL AFRICAN-AMERICAN QUILT Such a happy baby quilt with a CANDY CANE border made from sear-sucker cotton that was made in the 1950s. Bright prints in red white and blues laid out diagonally to create great movement in the design. The backing is made from 1930s to 1940s feed sacks. The quilt is machine pieced and hand tied with red in the center of every white block. This is a light weight quilt measuring 44" X 48" that would make a great wall hanging especially in a child's room. Up for sale is a very nice old quilt top that has been hand sewn. It is in beautiful colors of navy blue/white. Peach/black/white/ and white/black calico prints. It is very large, pictured on a king size bed, and measures appr. 7' x 6' There is one soiled place, if you look at the big picture it's down towards the bottom right corner. I have not washed it so it may come out. Other than that it is in excellent condition, no rips or other stains.

Antique 1910 Pennsylvania Amish Turkey Track Quill Patchwork Quilt 78" x 75"
An early beauty that we purchased from a Pennsylvania estate in Lancaster County- one of two that I will be listing. This being the newest of the two. This old gal features a turkey track quill stitch design- very unusual! This quilt had been in the family from 1910 and served many generations. The family states that they always used bits of fabric from clothing of past generations to make their quilts. The palette of fabrics in this one is amazing with greens, reds and blues. All hand stitched and even features a backing with a design of parasols and flowers which I have taken a pic of below. I can just imagine the ladies sewing this by candlelight. The front is made of wool and cotton with the backing being made of flannel. It measures 78 x 75 inches. It has a very small edging around the piece- again all hand sewn. Batting is thin. Hand ... morepieced. I have not tried to clean this in any way- you are getting it as it probably has been for generations- This beauty needs a little tlc in a few spots as some wear is shown in the pics where it looks to have been folded for a while, has one small tear on the outer edge but all in all a great example for displaying on a wall- A real piece of history here! VINTAGE PATCHWORK CRAZY QUILT This colorful vintage patchwork"crazy" quilt is done in cotton fabrics in the random crazy quilt style popular in the Victorian 1880's. All of the many different fabric pieces are in everyday cotton material patterns and styles. Quilt backing and quilt trim is a bright green cotton flower pattern. Quilt measures approx. 74-1/4" x 67" Each fabric piece was reinforced with a red stitch multiple times to ensure durability. I cannot date the quilt but I can say it is from the estate of a 96 year old lady. Condition is good. A small brown spot on the back side, no tears or frayed material. Measures 36" by 43" and is made up of 30 patchwork blocks that are approximately 7" square. Fabrics are 100% cotton from the 1880's through 1910 and feature shirting fabrics.Black mourning prints, black with textured overlays, brown weaves, and deep reds. The patchwork blocks are handsewn and the rows are machine sewn. It may have been put together at a later date-there is one row where the blocks do not line up. This piece is in excellent condition for its age-there are no holes or tears, but ... morethe fabric is stiff. Vintage/Antique 9 LB. AMAZING RARE PATTERN CRAZY/PATCHWORK Quilt-60" x 102 1/2" Has stains and rips and tears but still shows gorgeous. See full description below I do not know what size bed fits but I think it would fit all except a king size bed depending on how much drape you want I think this is the craziest patterned quilt I have ever seen as there is no rhyme or reason to the pattern at all I have taken 40 photos of this. But can only show a portion here, please ask me to send you more if you need them. I want you to see all areas that have issues Basically what I did was take photos of each damaged and/or stained sections. And took a few shots of the amazing mix and match of materials used in this quilt: old worn velvet. Corduroy, men's suit material, drapery fabric, etc. It has no stuffing. Instead what they used was ... morematerial to stuff it, which makes it less likely to bunch up, and it does feel smooth as if the stuffing was maybe sewed in with the quilting itself so as not to move with use and through washings Where there are rips or tears. The stuffed inner material with all different patterns and textures shows through which gives it a unique look instead of just seeing fluff coming out The quilt is tied as well. It might be hand tied, I am not sure This quilt is in vintage. Very used, very well loved condition. Would be perfect in a primitive cupboard or folded at the end of an antique bed for display Please do not expect a perfect quilt as I tried to describe and show through photos I believe it is a display quilt rather than a useful one and maybe will need a hand washing to freshen. Gorgeous, like having two quilts in one. On one side the quilt has fabrics that coordinate with each other. Shades of olive greens, browns, greys, so unique and very rare, the other side is a splash and blast of intense color with contrasting paisley like border and a mixture of the fabric from the other side. All cotton fabrics, with a thin center cotton batting. The hand stitching is approximately 8 stitches per inch in varying tiny sizes. Expertly hand done. I did see a few moth holes which I've pictured for your review and also notice some bleeding of the fabric which I've also pictured. The individual squares to make this quilt are 11 1/2" They are different fabrics found at that time which were sew together and then embellished with a chicken scratch embroidery design which is very nicely executed. Vintage Crazy quilt. 60" x 84" in size. Each block is made up of many different sized pieces in floral. Plaids, stripes, and novelty prints and solids with all colors. The sashings are different prints and solids. Prints are around the border. The backside is green muslin or feedsack and it folds over to the front to make the binding. The back has 2 small places about quarter that were repaired before the quilt was made. They are not very noticeable. The green print band along one edge has a few spots on it. There is a matchhead size tear on the sashing. Cottons and feedsacks. Hand quilted.

Primitive Hand Stitched Antique PATCHWORK QUILT Hand Quilted Antique/Vintage Patchwork Quilt This patchwork quilt was recently found at a Florida estate sale in St. Augustine. Florida, the oldest city in the U.S. This is a patchwork quilt done on a white background with mostly navy and red accents in the variation on the nine-patch pattern. The quilt is made of a soft cotton with a grouping of fabrics that seem as though they could have once been fabrics from mens shirts and ladies dresses-probably whatever fabrics the maker could find to complete the nine patches. The connecting strips are done in a white cotton fabric with tan colored dots and the backer is solid white cotton fabric. It measures 62" x 78" Is a lighter weight quilt and has seen a lot of wear with the batting exposed in several areas, many separations between patches, ... moreand even some spots of what looks like light yellow paint smears in some spots. Even with all its flaws, this one would still make a great quilt for your cottage or cabin. I am selling this one as I found it. I have not laundered this quilt as it is not stained, and it smells fresh and appears and feels clean but as with most old quilts, I would suggest a gentle laundering when it ready for cleaning. Antique hand-pieced/sewn patchwork quilt!! At least 75 years old! Beautiful! Ver
Up for sale is a very old antique hand-pieced quilt. This quilt has been in my family for as long as I can remember and I am 52 years old. My mother gave it to me in 1996 when she died. She always told me that it was made by her grandmother. If my mom was alive today she would be 72 so I am not sure exactly what the age of this quilt would be. I would say at least 75 years. But I have nothing to verify that. I am selling it because I have no one to leave it to when I am gone and it has been stored away since my mom gave it to me almost 20 years ago. I would like someone to have it who would enjoy it and appreciate it the way it should be. It has a good weight to it and the pieces are mostly velvet type material. The back appears to be some type of cotton matterial. There are some faded areas on the back- on the edges of the corners and right ... moredown the middle where it had been folded you can see a slightly faded line. The front is in really good shape for it's age. There are a couple places where it looks like spots of the velvet(or whatever it is) has rubbed or fallen off. Other than that, I can't find anything wrong with it. I would think it could be used on a top of a bed or displayed on a quilt rack- many things- and would easily last for many years to come. It has been stored in an airtight space bag in a trunk in my home since I have had it other than for maybe a little bit of time I had it out- when I first got it- maybe a month or less. It really is quite beautiful- I had forgotten how much until I got it out today. I kind of hate to get rid of it but I am limited on space to store it or display it and no one to give it to in the family who would appreciate it. I know my mom treasured it, but I don't think she would be upset if I sold it to another person who would get enjoyment from it. ANTIQUE PATCHWORK QUILT - OLD TOP NEWLY QUILTED. SOME PROVENANCE
Description: Patchwork quilt with an 1890's top that was quilted in 2001. It has quite a bit of writing on the back. It even mentioned the date of the Seattle earthquake. I live south of Seattle. So remember that well as the epicenter was much close to my area than Seattle. I found it interesting that this quilter thought to put that information on the back as well as another piece of personal information about a friend. She included the date she finished the quilt which was 2-28-01. There are a lot of silk, crepe and cotton fabrics. It is hand quilted at 6 SPI and measures 67-1/2 X 68-1/2. Condition: There are several seam separations. Also. It appears that some of the seams were repaired with fabric overlays as well as some of the squares. There are a few areas the squares are two different fabrics and one has been added so it is half ... moreof one& half of another. One section is done with a silk lace. I didn't find any stains or other issues. Good sturdy condition even with the repairs and seam separations. Shipping: I ship the next business day after payment via priority mail. 1880s ANTIQUE HAND PIECED PATCHWORK QUILT TOP This 1880's quilt top is HAND PIECED using many cotton scrap bag fabrics for both the 1-1/2" squares and the 4-1/2" squares including many Indigo blue prints. Alizarin red prints, shirting prints, and black"mourning" prints for some of the pieces and borders. It measures 79" x 42" and we find no rips, tears or staining. Beautiful fabrics, still very crisp! Antique 1800's Hand Pieced Patchwork CRIB / BABY / DOLL Quilt 49 X 50" NICE!
This lovely antique crib quilt was pieced and quilted by hand hand using tiny stitches. The only machine stitches were used on the sashing strips. The fabrics are a nice collection of tiny early prints. This quilt is probably from the late 1800's or early 1900's. There are no splits but I have a closeup of a block that has dark and light colors that mixed in a way someone could mistake for splits. There are 2 tiny light spots on the red print sashing. It looks like just color loss. The batting is soft thin cotton and the backing is muslin that was turned to the front to form the binding. It is clean. Odor free and 49 by 50 inches.

Antique Velvet Patchwork Quilt 54" x 68"
Up for auction is a lovely pieced velvet quilt from the 1920's. It measures 54" x 69" It can be used for a twin bed. Wall hanging, or a decorative throw. You can see that some of the velvet pile is worn down on the edges of some of the pieces, and there is a faded spot on the bottom edge(see photos) It has been restored with a newer plain black backing and black twill tape binding. Antique quilt top that is made up of 3.5" sashing of a neat shaker grey early fabric along with patchwork blocks that measure 10 3/4" square. Lots of indigo blues. Mourning prints, homespuns, cinnamon pink, and other great calicos from 1880's. This was from a comfort, but the batting was so lumpy and damaged that it had to be released to be reworked. The variation of the nine patch blocks show some of them hand pieced and some machine pieced and the sashing was added by machine I can see only two small patchwork squares that have tears one of the indigo blue fabrics(with the white dots) has damage.and there is some staining to work around. I love vintage and antique textiles.all fabric in general I guess I would say! I have just begun listing again for I was busy with the harvest of our apple orchard for quite some time. WONDERFUL ANTIQUE PATCHWORK QUILT, TINY PIECES, OLD TIME STITCHING, GREAT EFFECT
Offered here. Made of 3/4" squares, a patchwork quilt from about 1880. Both the fine quilting and the light weight refer back perhaps 40 years. Excellent workmanship. This quilt measures 68" square and is signed, I believe, with an embroidered"T" in one corner on the reverse. This quilt is very clean and bright, but there are a few faint water stains that perhaps a wash would remove. There are a few areas where the brown fabric has popped, but not totally disintegrated. Otherwise the fabrics are very sound. I do not know the name of this pattern but I do know that generally where there are tiny squares here, in other quilts there would be a solid color and not an airy checkerboard. The binding is frayed and in some places probably should be replaced. This quilt has a great look and feel. Thanks for looking into my auctions.
