This is a vintage 1942 Ray& Radiation Ultraviolet therapeutic quack medical device. It produces a Ultraviolet ray that you can feel the charge from on the outside of the glowing tubes. It is all original and works as designed. The inside instructional tag says that it is to be used on the feet and hands. The case is complete. And needs to be cleaned. It has rounded steel corners and is built to last. It is made by Lawndale Laboratories of Los Angeles. Pat. 2300008, October 27, 1942- it measures 17 inches long, 6 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches tall, in a really nice carrying case- it lights up, as shown in the first picture- I believe it is used by, setting on the floor, and putting your feet on the tubes- it reads on it, For Best Results, Put Bare Feet on the tubes, for a period of 15 minutes, three times daily. Has a push pull transmitter inside. I did put the pads on y leg and briefly turn it on. Wow deep tissue heat was felt. I would not recommend using it today though. I cannot find the AC power plug but will keep looking for it. The top handle and one piece of front trim are missing. No shipping local pickup only. I am also willing to meet the successful buyer at a local McDonalds or Burger King in the Northwest New Jersey area along Rt 80 or Rt 78. Up for auction is what we beleive to be an antique/vintage quack electrical violet ray device/machine. This was purchased at a local estate sale and we wanted to pass it along to you. We are not 100% sure if this is what you call this piece of medical quackery so you are purchasing this with your own descration. Appears to be working. When plugged in it does light up. I was a little surprised to see eBay had a category for these things.If this doesn't catch the opening bid I'm stripping out the contents and keeping this magnificent mahogany box. It's got a few scuffs on the finish but it still looks great. Reminds me of the back of Martin guitars. It would be a perfectly fit to store CD's. From what I can tell this is from the 40's. This particular model was supposed to cure what ever was wrong with your feet and hands. According to the instructions you were supposed to set this on the floor. Flip on the light and prop your footsies up on this thing. I did set it on the floor but all I did was turn on the light. It lights up with an nice moving black-light glow, but after that I'm don't have a real handle on exactly what"works" entails. Quack Medical Device Kromayer Alpine Sun Lamp Hood Meter Ultraviolet Radiation
Unusual. Alpine Sun Lamp hood from a Kromayer ultra violet lamp. The lamps were made by Hanovia Chemical Mfg. Used for ultraviolet radiation therapy. Creepy looking lamp hood with meter. Mostly aluminum and measures about 17" wide overall and 17" from the plug to the top of the lamp. Excellent condition overall with normal signs of wear from age and use.
