Antique Oxypathor Quack Medicine Device Early 1900's Original Wood Box Description This early 1900's"Oxypathor" Device is in its original marked box and appears to be complete and is in Excellent(untested) condition. Included in the box is some sort of tool. The tool and the dove tailed box are both in excellent condition. According to someone elses description of one of these on Ebay. It was marketed by"Elvard L. Moses" 1910-1915) who was sentenced to 18 months in the federal penitentiary for sales of fraudulent devices through the U.S. Postal Service. The purpose of the device. As therapeutic agent, was to permit the body to absorb more oxygen and enhance its own ability to counter act almost any ailment. The box measures approx. 7-7/8" long- 4-3/4" wide and 3-1/4" deep. Note: In measuring the ... morebox I see there is a split in the wood on one of the back bottom corners. All the metal is showing a pinkish tint but it is all a shiney nickle plated color. Can't quite figure out exactly what they were selling here or what it was supposed to cure- some sort of Oxygen compound liquid in a bottle. Offered by a Dr Starkey and Palen of Philadelphia Pa. All we have here is the box but no bottles. Aside from some wear to the lithography paper on the lid, the box is in quite good condition(though I cannot tell how much if any fading there is to the color since I don't know what the original color was supposed to be) As for dimensions, the box stands 8 7/8" high, 6 1/2" wide, 3 3/8" deep. There is no reserve but buyer pays $12 for priority USPS domestic shipping.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A DOVETAILED WOODEN BOX THAT OPENS TO A PORTABLE M.D. FARADIC DOUBLE CELL BATTERY SHOCK BOX. USED BY M.D.s AND KNOWN AS A QUACK BOX. I BELIEVE IT WAS USED TO GIVE SHOCK TREATMENTS TO PATIENTS FOR ANXIETY/STRESS. BOX MEASURES 8 1/4 INCHES TALL BY 8 1/2 INCHES WIDE BY 6 INCHES DEEP WHEN CLOSED. INSIDE THE TOP OF THE BOX IT OPENS WITH A LATCH AND THERE ARE WIRES AND OTHER PARTS. THE WOOD BASE OF THE BOX REMOVES TO REVEAL THE TWO BATTERIES(WORN AND OLD AND NOT WORKING) INSIDE THERE IS ALSO AN INSTRUCTION SHEET TAPED TO THE LID. GREAT COLLECTIBLE FOR THE DOCTOR IN YOUR FAMILY. 1914 Patent Medicine WOOD BOTTLE, Adv. flyer & orig wrapper Dr McGill Pills
ItWorks Hair Skin& Nails Supplement Antique Quack Medicine- 1914 in wooden bottle Description An antique bottle of Dr. James McGill's Famous Blood and Nerve Pills. This was a patent medicine that was listed in a Feb 28. 1914 register of medicines. Also listed in the 1916 edition of the Rocky Mountain Druggist(Denver) and the 1919 National Druggist. This is an interesting wooden bottle with a stamped ink label. I am assuming this was one of the earlier bottles. Before being sold nationally, because it was made in Chicago and the bottle was from an estate in Wisconsin. Plus it only has a stamped label rather than a paper label. The original paper packaging is included as well as a full page. Two sided, advertising flyer to complete the collection. I can envision the flyer, bottle and wrapper being mounted in a display frame. The advertising ... morehandout makes for interesting reading! I have not tried to open the cork stopper. There are pictures of all sides of the bottle and the wrapper. The wrapper has tears and the bottom flap is open. We will combine shipping with out other auctions to save you quite a bit on postage. Hard to find KICKAPOO INDIAN MEDICINE CO. Quack Medicine wooden shipping vial. Made by the Kickapoo Indian Medicine CO. Clintonville, Conn. Unusual item as most people would throw this away after they received their quack meds in the mail. This wooden vial(4 1/2" x1 1/4" was used to ship Kickapoo Indian Medicines to customers. The label is addressed to: L.B. Shrines 32 West 5th St. Plainfield NJ. Printed on the label under that- Postmaster. If not called for in ten days. Return to The Kickapoo Indian Medicine Co. Inc. Clintonville Conn. Next to it is the trademark of the company's Indian figure Below that is a U.S Postage stamp for Three cents. The top(also wood) is a screw type cap.
