This is something you don't see everyday. Unless. Of course, you have one. Inside this 2-1/4" x 3/4" metal tube is a small emergency sewing set consisting of a thimble and a spindle. Which holds a needle and four small spools of thread(red, black, tan& khaki) But it's the outside of the tube. Bearing the inscription"LYDIA E. PINKHAM'S VEGETABLE COMPOUND, BLOOD MEDICINE, SANATIVE WASH, LIVER PILLS" that might make this little device interesting to anyone who knows anything about the Patent Medicine business. Pinkham Medicine company in 1873, and patented her best-known medicine, Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, in 1876. Up for bid is a lot of 10 extremely rare Lydia E. Pinkham Sanative Wash"for vaginal infections" bottles. Made in Lynn. Mass. these bottles were prepared by the Lydia E. Pinkham Medicine Company with the liquid contents to be used as a vaginal injection or douche. These antique bottles have paper labels that are stained and in rough shape. Six of the bottles have corks, but those are in rough shape, too. However, considering these bottles are likely from near the turn of the century, they're still in remarkable shape. Vintage new old stock 14-1/2 oz. Bottle of Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. It was made by the Lydia E. Pinkham Medicine Co. In Lynn, MASS and dates, I would guess, to the late 1950's or 1960s. The Box is approximately 8-1/4 inches tall x approximately 3-1/2 inch wide. It is in very good condition with a $2.00 price marked on the side with a black wax pencil. This wax markings might be removable but I made no effort. The Bottle is in excellent condition and comes with its original cardboard ... moreprotective liner and the insert booklet. The box has shelf wear and there is some apparent rodent chewing on one edge of the box and there are small tears, soiling and staining to the edges and box flaps. The box appears to be pink in color but may have faded from exposure to sunlight. No box. Paperwork or other items included, only what you see in my photos. It is a softcover book that has 29 numbered pages containing testimonials, and giving dress making tips and patterns. Overall in good condition; pages are yellowing, binding and back cover are intact. The front cover does have a tear in the bottom left of the page, but this does not impact the graphics. The pictures give a good visual as to the condition. This is a nice little booklet to add to your medicinal collection. The booklet for sale is the exact one shown in the pictures.
