Medical Quackery or not. This individual purchased the Electreat set, hoping it would give her relief from what ailed her. She received a personal letter of thanks from C.W. Kent, president of the company, on April 24, 1947, which is included in this auction. And, she thought enough of the product to pay $ 19.95 in 1947 which is valued at over $250 in today's dollars. Included in this auction is the COMPLETE Electreat set with all attachments. The accompanying literature includes instructions. Testimonials, description of equipments/parts and illustrations/drawings. Lid is missing but the original black box is included. The creation/copywright of the Electreat is from 1919, and this set was purchased in April of 1947. It needs careful cleaning, which will be up to the buyer. Day who advertised she was a Specialist in the Diseases of Women. The letter is dated March 18. 1910. I have blurred out the name of who it was to(in the photos only) This is a RARE find. You are getting the original envelope that was sent to the potential client(someone cut the section out where the stamp was, sorry I forgot to take a photo of that) You get the typed letter to the potential client. I can't tell if the signature is hand written or printed. Then there is the consultation form. There is a questionnaire on one side and there is a place on the back to explain your symptoms and where patient could mark the areas where her ... morepains and soreness are. As you can see. There is a small area at the bottom of the form where one corner is missing and there is edge wear. The paper has tanning/foxing. There is even a return envelope.
