Proof of authenticity is required, and them danged fakers are becoming ... morebetter and better at fooling people. Take this 1891. Double-sided puzzle for example. Although none the BS mentioned above was required, I still had to put it together so I could assure you that all the pieces were there. This is just another example of how difficult it is being me. Fortunately. Both sides of the puzzle are pictured on the box, but that doesn’t mean it was easy, and I’ll tell you why. Jigsaw puzzles came into being way back in 1767 when old man John Spilsbury, a geography teacher in England made one for his class. However, it wasn’t until 1880 that puzzles with interlocking pieces came into being. Power tools had a lot to do with that. Long story short: Even though puzzles with interlocking pieces were available in 1891 when Hood used this puzzle to advertise his concoction. He didn’t take advantage of the concept of“interlocking pieces. Sometimes I get“the shakes. so I’d put one piece in place, and all the others would wander off– or get caught on the sleeve of my robe. A Hood's 1895 calendar with all 12 months stapled on. The card with 2 girls is in poor to fair condition with creases/bends and some white areas where surface is worn off. Top had a hole to hang it and that hole is torn out and gone. Calendar has missing paper on front page. It is 7-7/8 inches by 7-1/2 inches. It is very fragile so handle with care. Keep watching as I go through the old boxes stored away for many years. Shipping is $1.95 in the USA. More elsewhere. I combine shipping to save you $$ and no extra charge for handling. Offered is this 8 7/8 inch tall. 13 ounce capacity aqua medicine bottle. Boldly embossed lettered HOOD'S COMPOUND EXTRACT SARSAPARILLA/ C. I. HOOD& CO. LOWELL MASS. Minor chip on back of bottle is shown on last picture provided. Light traces of haze can be seen inside of bottle. Will combine multiple orders when paid together.
