Goff’s Oil Liniment” on the rear panel and“Camden, N.J. on one side panel. The bottle is free of any damage and the bottle is corked but empty. The front label is about 100% intact and is in very good condition. The label lists the ingredients as“Alcohol 8% and Opium 1 1/3 Grains in one fluid ounce. The label goes on to claim that“This herbal remedy is mild and soothing possesses peculiar healing properties” and contains a long list of ailments treated including piles, frostbite, sore throat, and toothache. The original price was 25 cents and the bottom of the label contains the 1906 Food& Drug Act Guarantee which likely dates this bottle to 1906 to about 1912 ... morebased on the fact that it contained opium but the bottle is blown-in-mold and not machine made. Also included is the original box which is in good condition but does show wear, soiling, and age toning. The top flap is torn off but is included. The box has a great image of the Goff factory in Camden New Jersey as well as lots and lots of claims on all sides. Included inside the box is the original 24-page advertising pamphlet with information on all of the products available from S.B. Goff and Sons. Complete early patent medicine offered with no reserve.
