ELECTREAT MASSAGE/PAIN QUACK MEDICAL/MEDICINE DEVICE w/BOX
This is an early Electreat Quack device. It comes with the box and accessories. The pat. date is 1919 and it professes to treat pain. Improve circulation, treat asthma, goitre, and voice problems, pleurisy, back and heart ailments, constipation, nervousness, liver ailments, rheumatism, dandruff, stimulate the brain, and promote hair growth as well as providing fluffy hair. There are accessories. The hairbrush bristles are metal and have been bent down by the device sitting on them in the box.

Classic Electreat Massage Quack Medicine Machine In Box With Accessories, Papers
This quack device was first patented in 1919. Then again in 1931. I put two D batteries in the unit and got my shock, so it must be working. This comes to you with the Electreat unit, two palm pads, an attaching cord, an internal electrode, the"how to use" brochure and the original box with instructions printed on the inside of the lid. They do not claim to cure disease. The internal electrode"was designed for practitioner's use" Ouch. The inside of the battery chamber shows some corrosion from batteries left in the unit, still working. The accessories are very good, the brochure good, the box good with all the seams split on the lid, the instructions on the inside of the lid clear and unstained. Electreat Manufacturing Company was located in Peoria, Illinois. everybody should have one of these.

You are bidding on a set of 3 VINTAGE Electreat quack medicine devices! These electric heat/shock/massager devices measure approx. 8 1/2" long. And some have attachments/accessories. Each one is marked"Electreat, Relieves Pain, Electreat Mfg Co, Peoria Ill" and have patent dates of 1919 on the bottom caps. There is also a Yankee voltage meter in one of the boxes. Battery compartments look to be in good shape. One device is missing the slide button(on/off? on the side. Have not tested these, so selling in as found condition. No paperwork or instructions. Check out my! Be sure to add me to your! What a cool looking devise! Electric massage therapy. The company started in 1918. And this brochure has endorsements that date up to 1955. The cover shows that this cost $29.50! That was a ton of money back then! sold as is. This is the"ELECTREAT MASSAGE KIT" It shows a picture of all the accessories and they are all here! Insert batteries and away you go. There is the brush for massaging your hair and head. Made in Peoria. IL. Tells you to make the sponges wet and then apply them to your body. The wand dischared electricity via the roller. The even show a picture of you puttin your foot into water with the electric sponge attached to it(not so sure about this idea) Here is a good quote from the brochure"We make no claims for the therapeutic and medicinal properties of Electreat other ... morethan as a possible carrier of unrecognized qualities. Boy. They sure sound confident! An endorsement"About 20 years ago I bought one of your Electreats and would not take $500.00 for it. That is what I think of it. Some of the quotes indicate that this item was sold door to door. it has patents from 1919 and 1931.
