A NICE ADVERTISING ANTIQUE COMPASS MADE IN FRANCE FOR SILVEY ELECTRIC COMPANY. THIS WAS MOST LIKELY A SALESMAN GIVAWAY TO AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURERS IN THE EARLY 1900S TO ENTICE THEM TO PURCHASE THEIR AUTO PARTS FROM SILVEY. THE COMPASS IS IN WORKING CONDITION AND HAS SOME RESIDUE INSIDE THE FACE. THE BRASS SHOWS WEAR AND PATINA FOR ITS AGE. THIS IS A NICE RARE PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY. ENJOY! Vintage Silvey Electric Co. Pocket Compass. This item is in fair cosmetic and good working condition. There is a lock mechanism on the side that locks the pointer in place. The compass measures approximately 12mm tall. And 1.75" in diameter. Any collector or enthusiast would really appreciate this nice item.

1880s Dr Scotts quackery medical compass for use with his Amazing Electric Brush
I first thought this unusual little brass dry compass was no more than a quack medical advertising piece for Dr. Scott's Electric Brushes. But after a little research I found that these brass compasses were included as an accessory that was supposed to somehow test and confirm that brush and other quack medical devises sold by Dr. Scott were functioning properly. He also sold an eclectic variety of different electrical devises that were claimed to cure everything from headaches to cancer. Including an electric corset. I can't even begin to imagine what that was used for! An electric hair brush, an electric flesh brush, and an electric tooth brush. This dry quack medical compass Is In perfect cosmetic condition and functions perfectly. It does still point to true north and dates to the 1880's. It measures 1 inch diameter X 3/8 ... moreinch tall.

The one is Antique Marked Dr. Scott's Electric Brush on the backside and I believe is Late 1880's Advertisement with Glass Face and the other is a Vintage Marked on the frontside Stellar Japan with Plastic Face. Both Compass I purchased together at an Estate Sale sold as is as seen in the pictures and are in Great(Pre-Owned) condition showing slight surface wear from handling/use. Great Collectibles.
