Vintage Violetta quack medicine machine by Bleadon-Dun Co
Vintage Violetta violet ray machine made in the 1920's by the Bleadon-Dun Company in Chicago. In original case with two glass electrodes. Working condition, gives off a purple"static" light when turned on. Has original paper quarantee inside lid and original purple cloth lining, which has faded. The case has a leather handle, which has some worn areas, there are scrapes on the corners of the case and also small areas where the surface is worn off. Thanks for looking.

This is a vintage Elco Lindstrom& Co. Violet Ray Quack Medicine Health Generator. It comes in an original wooden box carrying case. For the most part it appears to be in very good shape but it appears that it may be incomplete. In my photos you see 5 glass tube attachments( one of these is broken) I believe originally there were 6 glass attachments. Please see my photos for total inventory of parts. Other things may be missing. The blue lightbulb glass is mostly unattached from it's threads. The case is in good shape but the top and bottom have cracks and there is other wear( see photos) I do not know if this will work and it is being sold as a relic of Quack Medicine.I also noticed an electrical tape repair to the cord that goes to the handset. Up for bid is a Vintage Elco Violet Ray Quack Medical Device. Created in the 1920’s it used the new electric device to promise health beauty and freedom from pain. This device comes in a wooden case with a leather handle. The case is covered with a black papery material which has torn(could be glued down. But we did not try to restore it) The cords are in remarkably good condition. We plugged it in. But did not see any action. There are two glass fittings that insert into the device. A full bottle of"MALTINE" It has a label date of 1909 and mentions 10 gold medals won. It was in a cardboard wrapper which is badly deteriorated and falling apart. That accounts for the bottle looking like it just came off the store shelf. No defects at all of the label and bottle. It has 3% alcohol and made in New York. Label doesn't say what it is good for but apparently was a healthy drink for children and adults and aided in digestion. Bottle is 7-3/8 inches tall and 3-3/8 inches wide and 2-3/8 inhes deep. HELLO. I HAVE FOR SALE A RARE! PIECE OF MEDICAL QUACKERY. I BELIEVE THEY ARE FROM THE 30'S. AN ANTIQUE DERMASCOPE FROM THE MARINELLO COMPANY. THE GLASS AND BULB ARE STILL INTACT AND HAVE NO CRACKS OR BREAKS. THE CLOTH WRAPPED WIRE DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY PROBLEM EITHER. I'M NOT SURE IF THE LIGHT STILL WORKS I DON'T KNOW IF IT RUNS ON SOME KIND OF BATTERY PACK OR BATTERIES. THIS OLD THING REALLY LOOKS GREAT AND WOULD BE A NEAT ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION. Early 20th century quack medical device manufactured by Western Coil Co. out of Racine. WI. These were used mostly from 1893 to right around the Depression era. Tesla coil used in glass evacuated tubes for all sorts of ailments and medical conditions. This set comes with the wood coil box. Bakelite wand, four(4) glass tubes, extender rod, and case. Untested- sold as non-working. All appears in very good condition. Some fraying around plug from wand to box. Cloth/paper cover on outer case loose in several spots. It has a double wire coil electrode"probe" that delivered the electricity to various parts of your body. Was supposed to cure about anything. The"Triple Cell Medical Battery No. 180" is a quack medical device for administering electroshock treatment. It was made by the the early 20th century. Three large batteries mounted in the compartment below the main board. There is no corrosion of the metallic parts. All of which move freely. The wooden case is in very nice condition. The accessories store in a box beneath the instructions. 8" high, 9.5"high, 7.5" deep. A real find. A fascinating piece of medical history.
