"BRYONY" Extract Welks & Potter Boston quack medicine emb bottle w/labels 1890's
A brown glass bottle with original labels. Front label says"FLUID EXTRACT BRYONY Bryonia. Alba WEEKS& POTTER CO. CHEMISTS BOSTON MASS. Back label gives doses but doesn't say what for. Labels are darkened from age and back label has a piece of paper over part of it. It is embossed with the company name. Bottle has no defects and has a cork in it. Mold line seam ends in the neck so I date it to the 1890's. Keep watching as I go through the old boxes stored away for many years. Shipping is $3.22 in the USA. More elsewhere. c.1900 Quack Medicine Cure All, Swanson Company 5 Drops, Bottle / Paper Labels
The Swanson Company 5 Drops Medicine Bottle/ Paper Labels This old glass medicine bottle has the original front and back labels. The front label shows the word DROPS over a large number 5. 5 DROPS. Made by THE SWANSON COMPANY. Newark, Ohio. The cork is in the top and it stands about 5 3/4 inches high, It is 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 inch deep. The labels have some wear, soiling, and are not as bright as they once were, but are readable. The bottom of the bottle has an embossed 5, and the makers mark M in an oval that was used by the Obear Nester Glass Co. from 1895 until the mid 1920s. There are no chips cracks or repairs.
