All the pulls and finials are present and the cabinet is in overall very good condition considering how far from home it is and it's age. The apparatus on top was used for unknown reasons to us and there is some kind of motor that was used also. The diodes and other contraptions shown were all inside of this cabinet when we acquired it and we are not sure of their use either. This generator is called the Horwitron Variometer with patient contact electro-indicator. Housed in a mahogany veneered case. Great Art Deco style plug. It used radio tubes to generate electric waves. Which were thought to penetrate deeper than other therapies(such as heat) to alleviate aches, pains and other maladies during the period. Kinda scary-crackles and you can smell the rays coming off the tubes! 2 of the pictures show the tubes working.The base is about 18" X 7 1/2" and the tube holder is about 16 1/2' X 6 1/4'This is a very rare piece to find in working condition and in nice shape. The only flaw I see is it is missing one of the small plastic nubs on the bottom of the tube holder.It weighs over 19 Lbs so shipping not cheap with careful packing and insurance but where are you going to fins another?
