Antique Victorian Portable Electric Electro Shock Therapy Quack Medicine Aloe?
Antique Electric Shock Therapy Machine Neat old piece! There is no maker's label on or inside. I plugged it in and it does not power up. But. All wires look to be connected. I am guessing that at least one of the antique electronic pieces inside is malfunctioning. The case is in decent shape. Shows signs of use. The tools inside all seem to be there. One probe looks to be broken off of it's arm, but I think a real quick soldering would fix that. I will leave that to the collector. PLEASE look at all photos for condition. After much research I believe this to be an early vaporizer used in sickrooms. It stands 7" tal and has 2 pcs~ one is the stand-which would had held the medicine bottle and the other is the oil lamp. Markings are on the bottom of the stand PM Italty silverplate and on the lamp is marked PM Italy. Antique Magneto-Electric Victorian Quack Medicine Medical Oddities Shock Machine
Up for auction is this antique Victorian quack.Edical Magneto-Electric shock machine. This machine was used to treat nervous diseases, as well as toothaches and whatever else ailed you! I think the machine is complete, but I'm not sure. I hooked it up and followed the instructions, but I didn't get any shocks. Not sure if I was doing it right, or if it just doesn't work any more. There are some beautiful graphics on the label. The label is a little bubbly and lifting a little bit in parts, but is still affixed to the lid of the box pretty good. It looks like the band attached to the cog has been repaired with thread or string which is illustrated in the last photo. The handle moves freely and easily moves the blue velvet covered mechanism inside the box. The machine has some overall wear throughout due to its age. Here is a great interesting Antique instrument called a Vaporizer used during the Victorian era for medicinal purposed beleived to cure sickness. Very nice collectible piece and rare to find them complete with the burner. No maker's markings anywhere. This is a funny little ad card. About the size of an old postcard but on regular paper, still in very nice shape, a few water marks on the back but otherwise good. Front shows a bald man with eyes closed and says"He was all but gone when he heard them reading"Complete Manhood" The startling effect may be seen by holding him up to the light. Hanger is damaged and plate a 1" crack on the lower right edge(right above the tree branch) Piece is very solid, about 1mm thick. Hanger has been no issue to me, I've had this piece displayed on a small easel for many years. Has yellowed from 125 years or so of exposure(more on front than back) Study the photos to assess actual condition! Measures 8 13/16" in dia. x 1/4-3/8" deep. Antique Medical Vibrator Steampunk Victorian
I found this years ago in a dusty. Old shop and it was such a funny conversational piece that I had to have it. Other than that, I don't know much about it. It is operational, but I wouldn't recommend"personal use" simply due to its age. It's really loud and does smell of burning after a minute or so. Whether that is dust burning off or dry rot insulation on the wiring, I am not certain. But, it is"powerful" lol. Sold as is. But guaranteed to spark some fun dialogue. It is pretty heavy, so shipping based on weight. Thanks for your interest!

VTG Victorian Barbers bleeding/shaving basin/bowl,Antique Ironstone transferware
From the late eighteenth to the early nineteenth century bleeding bowls like this rare find were used by barbers for blood letting as well as for use as a shaving basin. Both jobs being carried out by the same tradesman. The crescent shaped cut out area is used under the customers neck for shaving or on the arm for blood letting. The indentation is for a shaving brush to rest. You can see in the picture how your arm would lay for the practice of bloodletting. This is in mint condition and is an estate sale find.

An antique WINGFIELD SHEFFIELD STEEL and HORN CASED BLOOD LETTING FLEAM TOOL. Three steel backed 2 3/4" pull out blades with quality scales an enclosed inside a brass lining. 6" in length when folded opened. as found in good solid condition. blades can be cleaned. chipping to the edges of the horn case with loss to the end on the one side. Top Physicians acquired their finest instruments from Sheffield in the English-speaking world. Few veterinarians were wealthy enough for Sheffield blades and scalpels. Bloodletting was widely practiced for centuries up until about the turn of the 19th Century. George Washington was famously blood-let to excess probably accounting for his demise. But it was a routine matter. Many people let blood from their livestock and their family members twice a year with their medical check up. It was believed ... moreto promote good general health as the build up of toxic humours were expelled in the blood. Bloodletting was so common that physicians delegated the task to assistants and created phlebotomy as a practice for helpers to do. Barbers did bloodletting. And their barber pole is a sign for the illiterate that bloodletting services were available. The pole represented a cylindrical rube that was given to the customer to squeeze with his or her fist. The white stripe represented the tourniquet used above the cut and the red, of course, represented the blood extracted.

Antique Victoria late 1800s Hand Painted Barbers Bleeding/Shaving Basin/Bowl. This auction is for a antique Victoria hand painted floral barbers bleeding/shaving basin fro the 1800s. The basin its self is without cracks and chips. The floral painting is in excellent condition. The original gold edging has however worn down. On the underside of the basin there is'35' hand painted.
