Antique c. 1906 Herbal Remedy from Allaire-Woodward& Co. of Peoria. Ill. In original cardboard box with contents. Front reads. White Poplar Bark. Populus Alba. Put up by Allaire-Woodward& Co. Peoria, Ill. Top side reads. Properties. Stimulant, tonic and diaphoretic. It has been used as a substituted for Peruvian Bark in intermittents. And has proven serviceable in chronic rheumatism and dyspepsia. Infusion: White Poplar Bark. 1 oz; hot water. 1 pint. Dose, a tablespoon, repeated. Bottom flap reads. Common White Poplar, Tulip Tree, etc. Very good condition. With slight wear, all flaps are present and untorn. Measures 2 1/4 inches square by 1 1/8 inches deep. Antique No 4 D.D. Home Medical Apparatus Quack medicine / machine What a Shock!
Up for auction here today is a no 4 D.D. Home medical apparatus. I bought this from a estate sale a few years back for a 100.00 and I am just trying to recoup some of my money. It is missing quite a few different things to actually be considered complete. What it comes with is pictured in the above photographs. And what it is missing is outlined in the condition description. If you are missing a few parts to make yours complete. Or are looking for a box that is in decent shape then this could be the item for you. A couple of good points to mention about this apparatus are as follows: The label is in pretty good legible condition which is more then I can say for some of the other machines I have seen on ebay that have sold. The hinges are in good shape also with no broken flathead screws. I do not have all the different parts however so I can not tell you if it is working. Late 1800s antique quack medical apparatus made by J.H. Bunnell& Company. Instruction plate titles the device"The New No. 4 D.D. Home Medical Apparatus" Contained in a honey colored oak box. Brass and metal hardware is all original. Box was stripped and refinished with MinWax satin varnish and buffed out with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Instruction label was badly damaged. But photographed before it was removed. A quality color inkjet print of the instructions will be included with purchase. Some parts are missing, including the wiring, the metal tube that held the battery, metal foot plate, and the sponges that were included with the electrodes. ANTIQUE DUPLEX OXYGENATOR TURN OF THE CENTURY QUACK MEDICINE
This is a really nice piece that is in fine condition for its age. It is a Duplex Oxygenator made by the Oxygenator Company of Buffalo. New York. This I believe was made in the very early 1900's. It must have cured everything from the common cold, to STD's and cancer. This is a great piece for anyone who collects medial quackery devices. I believe this to be complete and comes in the original aluminum case. I don't have the instructions so I don't know how to use it. Even if I had them, I don't think I'd go and hock myself up to it. Ad for"soothing plasters" reads: Shaker Soothing Plasters- Good For Backache. A.J. White. Proprietor. 168 Duane St. New York. Its in a weathered little frame with gold paint on the front only. There is no glass on the frame. It appears to have some age since the paper itself is a little brittle, but I don't have a clear idea of the date it was made since the ad is attached to a piece of wood that makes up the back of the frame. Its cute! Its dimenions are 4 x 6 with the frame; the ad itself is 3 1/3 x 5 1/4 inches.

Vintage Antique Quackery Quack Medicine Medical Electro Electric shock machine
This is a strange old piece of"medical" quackery. I don't know much about it other than it was in my parents basement and they are cleaning things out like the many late 1800's and early 1900's blueprints I had for sale and the glass negatives. The man who used to live there had several strange things like this that we are finally getting around to selling. My dad said this actually works. Or at least gets current through it, but we don't really know what it does. There are no markings with a name that I can see. The front of the box has a pretty scrolled silver lock(that works) and the box opens up to see the handles with the electric cords and the knobs and whatnot. The box itself is a heavy wood and measures about 9" tall. 7.5 deep and 6.75 wide We would be interested in learning more if you know what this ... moreis just for curiosity sake. Antique patent medicine almanac from the GG Green Company which was located in Woodbury, NJ. Today their building still stands and their medicine bottles are collectible. GG Green sold August Flower and German Syrup which contained morphine-opium so after the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 their business declined until it closed by 1916. The act targeted the patent medicine industry with its high alcoholic content patent medicines, soothing syrups for infants with opium derivatives and more. This paper almanac. Which refers inside to the"Greenies" is really an advertisement piece with testimonials and information about their medicines. It measures 6.75" by 9" and contains ... more32 inside pages plus the cover front and back. Outside cover is green with blue and red highlights. Inside the pages are all black and white. Condition is Good minus(see guide below) for being 123 years old. Cover has most of the age and use wear, including rub and scuff, soil stain marks, clips and snips on edges, creases. Former owner put a clip in top corner for hanging this almanac. Inside the pages are nicer, cleaner with some marks here and there, some clips and snips on edges, but most of the wear is on the outside cover. You are being this paper item"as is" as was found. Kutnow's Powder Antique Vintage Aqua Blue Glass Bottle Quack Medicine England
This is an antique Kutnow's Powder bottle. Kutnow's was used to(supposedly) cure everything from liver problems. Kidney problems, headaches, gout, etc. The bottle has a mold seam that ends at the base of the neck and measures 4-3/4" tall, 2-1/2" wide across the front and 1-3/4" wide across the side. The bottom is embossed with.K s. P. The bottle has a line in the lip which I think is a production flaw but may possibly be a crack. It also has some scuffing. This is an auction for an antique bottle of Fulton's Diabetic Compound. The bottle is about 8-1/4" tall and 2-3/4" wide. The bottle seems to have never been opened and still contains all of it's original contents. The label is still about 85% present but damaged. There is a name penciled in on the label of a John J. Fulton(Last name is partially missing due to tear) John Fulton was the owner of John J. Fulton Co who obviously made this medicine. It is unknown if this is his actual handwriting but from fading you can tell it was written onto the bottle a very long time ago! The bottle has many air bubbles throughout with one burst surface bubble in the back of the bottle. There are no other chips. Cracks, or scratches noted. The bottom of the bottle says either PCCW or PCGW. The seams stop at the base of the neck. Antique inhaler with wooden box / papers and vintage postage stamp (medicine)
For auction is an antique Scientitic Catarrh Inhaler with the original box and papers.The box is finger-jointed and the lid slides in and out.The sides of the lid have been worn off but the end still has the little slat that fits into the groove.The lid still works ok though.Size is 4 1/4 x2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.The inhaler rubber hose is stiff and dried out but could probably be glued for display purposes(dont think anyone would want to try 110 year old medicine)And there is a nice old 2 1/2 cent American stamp on the end which features a steam ship and reads series of 1898 on it.

But dated circa 1903 by WorldCat. The letter is one folded sheet with printing on the front side only of the 2 leaves. It measures 10 1/2 X 8 inches and is in good condition aside from age toning and folds. The piece is a scarce publication. Antique bottle of Craemer's Calculus Corrective Medicine in original box. Manufactured by Wm. Craemer Medicine Co. In St. Louis, MO. The box states it is a celebrated compound for gall stones. Stones in the kidneys, bladder or biliousness. The box has stains from leakage of the medicine. Red trade mark seals are broken. Appx 1" chip on the lip of the bottle. Cork is corroded. Overall the package is in good conditin. All the printing in readable. Bottle still contains this liquid currative! Back of box is in German. Great addition to your antique& vintage medical collection.
