Showing that this medicine was the‘I.I. bottle, which was for“Eruptions, Grease, Thrush, abscess, ulcers, fistulas, swellings. etc. It also mentions the remedy was for Horses, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep, Dogs, even small animals. The second is just as neat it reads"Dr. Daniels Wonder Worker Liniment Nature's Cure for Men or Beast Boston Ma" Check out all the pictures these are very cool bottle, would make neat vases as simple but interesting conversation pieces. Antique 1912 DeWitt's 200 year"past and future 1776-1976 calendar" with biographies of the world's greatest men and woman. Original Art Nouveau cover and print art work throughout the booklet. Great frame able advertising for quack claims on DeWitt products. The 200 year calendar published and printed in 1912. Had a price of 5 cents, but items like this booklet were usually given out as"gift" with purchase. The calendar booklet was actually just a thinly disguised advertising booklet for DeWitt's medicines and health products. DeWitts later produced alcohol and liquors legally in the 1930s. In 1912 and then during federal ... moreprohibition. Some of DeWitt's"medicines" contained alcohol and were used recreationally. Dewitt's and other companies came under scrutiny for their quack claims and eventually anti quack medicine laws were passed limiting beverage and medicine company's health claims. The advertising book has many of the medicines. Ointments, tonics and other items DeWitts sold in 1912 with comical print ads showing their packaging, and extolling their value and use. Antique Lot Of Quack Medicine Bottles Corpora Lutea Cod Liver Oil Humpheys Tonic
Here we have a nice assortment of old time quack medicines and bottles. First is a 12 oz Squib cod liver oil. Excellent condition with perfect labels. Next is a smaller empty Corpora Lutea Empletes by Parke Davis& Co. I think these were used for female problems. Then we have three vials of pills from the Humphrey medicine co. Teething, wakefulness of infants( contains Belladonna! then Tonic Tablets and Laxative tablets. The box for the tonic tablets have been opened but other two are still sealed. Everything is clean with no damage. Please see my photos which show everything well. The ingredients are secret and"Not natural" A H Lewis was a Pharmacist in the St Louis area in the early 1900s. He later went on to invent"TUMS" This is piece of history here, folks. Condition: There is some severe wear-and-tear on the boxes. Packaging, and bottles in this listing, but all three bottles are sealed. The first bottle has a box that has a tear down one its seams. The second bottle has a box that is in relatively good condition(for being 100 years old) and the third bottle has a box with no top. All three bottles are sealed. The wax sealed aren't as complete as they were 100 years ago. but they are all, very obviously, unopened. This listing is for two antique quack medicine bottles dating from the early 1870's. This company was founded in St. Louis in the 1850's and would make a great authentic décor for your home or a display box of treasures. This lot includes a 4"tall.1 1/4" square, beautiful aqua medicine bottle having beveled edges, four indented panels, a small, crudely applied double collar lip. Embossed in the four panels is" Dr. J.H. McLeans/ Volcanic/ Oil/ Liniment" The second bottle is also 4" tall. 1 1/4" square with the original lid and contains embossing on two sides of the square bottle. One side is embossed with"McLeans Volcanic Brand, 2 fl oz" and the other side embossed"Oil Liniment" The bottle has been dug and has light inside ground hazing.
