AUTHENTIC Vintage McKEE ROMAN ARCH Salt & Pepper SHAKERS White Milk Glass TAPPAN
PLEASE NOTE I will be listing another set of McKee shakers in black. They are for Sugar& Flour. Stop in for a peek: Other than careful use these AUTHENTIC antique/vintage range top shakers are in great condition. They are in the Roman Arch style. I believe them to be McKee. The only markings on the slightly indented bottoms of each is a 1~1/4" circle and an embossed capitol'T' I have always wondered if the'T' means they were part of a Tappan range. As you can see the script lettering depicts them for filling with salt and pepper. The wonderful'Deco' style adds to their charm. They are milk glass with lots of swirls& curls like you find in custard glass. Each is in very nice condition including the soft metal domed lids. Each lid has holes in a star shape. Of course the holes in the pepper are smaller. ... moreI have had them displayed in my kitchen for years and as you can see I did not wash the lids before photographing: Condition is otherwise very good vintage. There are no chips and the lettering is great. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS 4~1/4" ~ High 2~1/2" ~ Across the Base Please be assured that these are AUTHENTIC. THEY ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS. You can tell the junk/China reproductions by weight. Color, height, side seams, flat bottom, lids and overall quality. Roman Theme Juice Glass
I have looked everywhere for the pattern of this little juice glass and can not find it anywhere. I am sure however that one of you ebay shoppers out there know exactly what this is. so let me know. I think that this little juice flat is one of the funniest things I've run across on some time. To look at the first pic it seems like. Ok, so there are some Roman people standing around on this glass, big woop! But then I put a piece of white paper to show off the three little pairs of Romans, and something quite different materializes. In the first, the guard seems to be getting a beverage from a woman. His posture is all, Serve me some wine! I'm an important guard with a greyhound I'm going to race! But her position seems to say, Oh! So you're a big shot guard now? Well, I remember when you used to run around in diapers crying ... morewhen you'd wee yourself, Mr. Big Shot guard! The next one seems obvious to me.Get me away from this facacta flute player! He stinks and still he begs for money! Lastly. Oh for the love of Zues, Helena! We are going to my bosses for dinner, and this is the toga you decided to wear? What, it was on sale at the" Wear a toga that will embarrass your husband in front of his boss! Store? See. The funniest juice glass ever! 11 x Ancient/Antique Glass Beads. Roman/Egyptian/Trade???
This is a lot of 11 x Ancient Glass Beads. Which I bought in a mixed auction lot. They are approx. 15mm by 9 mm and are all in good condition, with no chips or other damage. However, they do have that pitted look, which only comes with considerable age and they may well be Roman/Egyption or early trade beads. Basically, I do not know their age or origins and am therefore selling at auction with a 99p start price and no reserve. 1st Class Recorded Delivery within the UK is a fixed £2.00p. Normal Airmail Delivery Worldwide is a fixed £3.00p. ANTIQUE ANCIENT ROMAN & BYZANTINE & MEDIEVAL GLASS - Ernesto Wolf Collection
Roman. Byzantine and Early Medieval Glass, 10 BCE to 700 CE. Ernesto Wolf Collection" By E. Marianne Stern. Published in Ostfildern-Ruit by Hatje Cantz in 2001. DISCUSSION: Far more rare than the ceramic. Stone, and metal artifacts of ancient peoples that are the staple of archaeological museums, glassware also has a long history in Western civilization. The revolutionary Roman invention of the glassblowing iron in the 1st century BC made it possible to produce large numbers of light, thin-walled glass vessels, and resulted in an outburst of artistic creativity throughout the empire. More than 225 exquisite objects, some over 2,000 years old, are presented here in color photographs and precise descriptions-some as delicate and beautifully formed as fine glassware today. DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 10"x11" 427 pages, color and line ... moreillustrations, dust jacket. CONDITION NOTES: In fine. New condition. OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: This is a large. Clear McKee Roman Arch range set vintage depression glass salt & pepper shakers
This is a very rare, ORIGINAL. McKee" Roman Arch" range set in clear glass. I found them at an estate sale. Still in the original 1920 DETROITER range. I was able to verify from tax records that the house was built in 1920) I have never seen these in clear glass before and cannot find a photo of them on-line. The bottoms of the shakers are slightly concave with a large circle near the center. These salt and pepper shakers are approximately 4 1/4 inches tall including lid, and 2 3/8” wide by 2” deep. Each shaker weighs in at a hefty 8 ounces. These are in excellent antique condition with some minor shelf wear on the glass and a few small dents on the domed lids. The glass is in beautiful unclouded condition. See photos) All wear to be expected on pieces of this age and use. These are definitely not reproductions. I have cleaned these. ... moreThey were pretty dirty when I purchased them. This is one of several items that I have listed. I will combine shipping. Please wait for the invoice if you are purchasing multiple items. I describe my items to the best of my knowledge and all sales are final. Please feel free to email me for additional photographs or information. This item comes from a smoke-free. Pet-free environment. Please note: Payment is due Within 5 Days of End of Auction. Ancient Roman Bronze Ring with Light Blue Glass Inlay 200-400 AD
About The Roman Jewelry Apart from gold and other precious metals. Romans used glass to make their jewelry. Roman jewelry gives us an insight into the culture of this ancient country. Just like other ancient civilizations. Rome also had its distinct strata of social classes. In the Roman society, jewelry was worn for indicating the social status of a person and attaching pieces of clothing rather than beautification. Gold was used by the artisans and jewelers for carving the adornments and jewelry as it was believed to be the metal of the Gods and supposed to have descended from the sun. Other than gold, the materials used in jewelry making were bronze, Roman glass, bone beads and precious gemstones which were excavated from far off places like Persia, Far East, Indus Valley, etc. Diamonds, emeralds and sapphires found their way from the ... moresilk route to the Roman land to appease the rich and mighty of this civilization. About the Roman Rings Romans liked to wear big rings which drew attention and revealed the status of the wearer. A gold ring often contained a huge gemstone or Roman glass which was generally worn by the Senators and the bureaucrats. The common people referred as the Plebeians were allowed to wear only rings made of iron. However. Some Plebeians were awarded the right to wear the golden rings for their bravery or special service to the state. But gradually such stringent rules were relaxed during the reign of Justinian I. Women of ancient Rome were more inclined to wear multiple rings of varied materials and designs on their hands without the constraints of social classes. About This Ring This extremely solid Ancient Roman ring is smooth all over. Very well-preserved and covered in dark, natural patina. Its oval-shaped band is symmetrical, thick and expands into a shallow cup-type bezel which holds securely within it, a light blue glass cabochon. Just before the bezel, two deep
