It is from Morse and Gaston's Diamond Atlas. Published in New York by Samuel Gaston. 1857. A facsimile copy of the title page will also be included for authenticity. It is by Samuel Gaston and Sidney Morse, the brother of Samuel Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. Their father was Jedidiah Morse, also a mapmaker and publisher in New York. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the pic. Overall, a nice antique miniature map that would frame up nicely! Size: The map image measures approximately 5 by 6 inches(12x15cm) on a 6 by 7 1/4" 15x18cm) page with a margin all around for framing as seen in the pic. This magazine is a trade journal for jewelers, watchmakers and related trades and filled with hundreds of large and elaborate ads for fine jewelry, watches, store fixtures, clocks, cut glass, silver, optician and ... morejeweler tools and related items. Also included are several in depth articles including one of Sculptor Cesare Biscarra, Modern Jewelry Stores, the Evolution of the Walking Stick and lots more. This magazine is an original antique published almost 110 years ago. The contents of the magazine are fully complete but the cover material along the spine is lost and the front and back covers are detached but present. The covers have some nicks and chips on the edges while the inside pages are generally clean and in good shape throughout.
