The brooch has a makers mark of TD. REAL broochs are extremely difficult to find! This would date possibly late 18th century. Found in Crawford Co. Illinois. Ive been contacted by one of the largest collectors of trade silver out of Canada and he also confirmed its authenticity. He definitly is an expert in this field and very knowledgeable. These were his comments on the mark. The fact the mark may not be found is common. It is a plus if a piece displays a mark. And sometimes it can add to the value considerably. There are 10's of thousands of marks, recorded, and many that are not recorded. I have one book of marks that have been recorded, but absolutely nothing is known about them other than the date recorded. It doesn't scare me to see a piece without a mark, or one with a mark I can't ID. Pieces with single individual letters for marks are not typical, and the letters generally have meaning to the maker only, this is because anyone with a set of stamps can copy them. When the letters are combined or conjoined in a stamp they are generally the maker's registered mark, and even the shape of the mark can ID a certain maker. I would have to examine yours under a microscope to determine if the upper mark is a maker mark, or a hall mark, that has been over stamped. One example of this would be when a hallmark might be a bust of a French ruler, and if the British were trading it to an Indian they might mark out the French rulers bust. Similar to what the Egyptians did with bad Pharos. The most common brooches are the simple ring brooches. The best trait to your brooch is the heart cutouts. Which are always desirable. and. She had a wig but most is missing as can be seen in the photos. She has a Seminole crafted dress, lots of layers of fabric sewn together. She is 8" tall, her dress is all strips of patched cottons, none of the more recent ric rac trim. Her condition is as shown, the dress may have been brighter in color at one time, hard to tell. Old Small Navajo Rug and Lovely Navajo Doll Native American Indian
This is a very nice small. Old Navajo rug woven with wool yarn in the traditional Navajo way. It is in good condition with some soiling and thinning out in a few very small places. The design in the middle of the rug is beautiful- vibrant and woven with traditional early colors. The rug measures 15" x 10" Fringe was tied across one end after the rug was taken off the loom- it is a continuous woven piece from a Navajo loom. The Navajo doll was also created in the traditional way by a Navajo woman. it was made in her likeness and all the other Navajo women she has known.This doll wears traditional Navajo clothing with an all velvet dress adorned with beads. A strand of beads hang from her neck and beads hang from her ears. There is a small hole just under her neck on the front of her blouse, but it is not noticeable. Under her velvet ... moreskirt is an underskirt of printed paisley cotton. Very sweet expressive facial features are painted on a fabric face framed by black wool hair tied back into a bun- a bun traditional to the Navajo People. This sweet has a lot of personality and stands 10" tall. This is a wonderful set representing traditional Navajo weaving and traditional Navajo doll artistry.

With this pot are four authentic dolls wearing the traditional outfits of the Navajo women. Each was crafted by a Navajo woman in the likeness of all the Navajo women she has known. All the dolls wear the traditional clothing of the older women and have pretty cotton underskirts under their main skirts. Beads adorn the dolls pretty velvet shirts and hang from their ears. They all have wool hair ties back in the traditional buns of the Navajo People. ANTIQUE HAND MADE INDIAN OR WESTERN TRADE KNIFE Welcome! This auction is for a beautiful antique early western trade knife. Measuring about 11" long, the blade measures 7" long. The handle is made of bone, and different types of wood, with a design in overlaid silver metal. Very intricate design, took a great deal of handwork. Blade has a darkened patina from age, I have not attempted to clean it at all. The knife is in good, solid condition(not loose anywhere) no chips, cracks or damage. It has the original hand tooled leather sheath which does show some wear and tear, the top of the sheath has worn through and is partly missing in the end where the point of the knife goes. A very find example of an early hand made Western trade knife, I estimate it dates from the late 1800's to turn of the century. Old Splitdorf S Indian Motorcycle Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor HOT!
This is a very rare original Splitdorf Model S single cylinder magneto which was factory equipment on several Indian motorcycles and probably has other applications. It is fresh from an early motorcycle collectors estate and is in excellent condition for its age. It turns over nicely with great magnetic pull and looks to be in pretty good shape with some cosmetic dings but otherwise looks good. It has the original leadout tower on it and the points cover which are in good shape as well. It mounts with two small locating pins one of which is missing but would be very easy to replace. It could also use a new spark plug wire. This magneto is counterclockwise rotation and puts out a hot. FAT, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is setup properly. These original magnetos are very tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so ... moreif you need one don't pass up this one. I've sold these for around $1200 over the past year here on Ebay and I know that they haven't made any more of them! Indian Oil Painting Deer Hunting Horse Oklahoma?
This lot is I believe an Oil Painting of an Indian hunting. It is similar in style to the Woody Crumbo Paintings of about the same era. It is signed on the front JF and dated 52 and on the back in pencil is Jessie Foreman and the date again. Many similar to this type of painting are gouache watercolors- it may be. But for some reason, I think it is oil. I did not test it to see. After checking, I believe he is/was Cherokee and from Oklahoma. Overall it is about 11 1/2" by 17 1/2" The image is smaller- it would fit in an 8" by 10" but since the canvas is laid down on plywood, you would loose the signature. This is a beautiful Vintage 50's Jeweled Studded Western Motorcycle Belt in excellent almost unused condition. A rare find! It has 7 faceted hard plastic jewels in red. Green, yellow and blue. There's a very cool consistent pattern of jewels and studs. The studs, jewels and buckle all show a very minimal amount of wear from age and use. The dark tan leather strap is in excellent to new-ish shape. Very strong and supple and has a lovely hand carved design of leaves, lilies and shells. This double prong hole belt is 30" long including the buckle and is 1 11/16" wide. The 5 adjustment holes go from 24" to 27" with the center holes at 25.5" It's a small or petite size. Its fantastic buckle has two prongs and two antique red faceted hard plastic jewels with a stamped Indian motif of teepee. Arrow, feathers, ... moretomahawk and warrior with bow.
