The cast iron sides have been done in an ornate Victorian style and say"PAT.AUG 7 1891, JAN 8 1894 BUFFALO NEW YORK" The feet have holes in them for anchoring the desk to a wood floor. The desk is all original but appears to have been cleaned up or refinished. Desk still has pencil scratches and marks from when it was actually used in a school house. The front fold up. Here is an old cast iron lamp finial that is large enough to be seen and will enhance the look of your lamp. It is about 4 1/4 inches tall. This finial has a larger threaded hole designed to fit onto standard lamp rod(shown in the final photo) So it may have been designed to be the top of a floor lamp or the crowning detail in a large table lamp. It has has gold and green paint that looks original. There is some paint loss in a few spots that you can see in the photos. Here's a very cool old Lennox cast iron wall mounted draft control for a furnace. Beautifully crafted and embossed. This unit apparently operated the draft control via chains attached to the levers which are pushed up and down to the desired setting. This is a rare and unique wall mounted light fixture. All hardware is included. The light hangs from a metal(cast iron? rod. And can swivel back and forth. The wiring. In my uneducated opinion, will need to be, at the minimum, repaired, and possibly replaced. Where the metal rod comes down, there is exposed cloth wiring about 4 inches in length where there should not be any. The total drop length of the light is 25" The wiring is of the cloth type and in places is very frayed. There is a clear glass hurricane surrounding the light bulb. Outside the hurricane, the lampshade is made of hobnail milk glass. This would be an exceptional piece and is well worth any repair that needs to be made. This is a great old cast iron country store scale on a marble and oak base made by W&T Avery. It measures about 19" long and 8 1/2" tall. It is in very good condition for it's age. The scale is cast iron& looks to have some parts painted yellow. There is some sporadic paint chipping. I obtained this at an estate sale& don't know anything about it, but it appears that the pan is missing. I'm not sure if anything else is shipping. The nameplate on the scale reads"Dodge Mfg Co, Yonkers NY, and Patented 1892, 1898, 1903" It's quite a heavy scale, it weighs almost 16 pounds. I don't know the maximum weight that it weighs.
