Art Deco era Smiths Sectric Clock This auction is for a brown bakelite Smiths Sectric electric clock. From the Art Deco era. The clock measures approx. 12cm x 12cm x 5.8cm. The clock face has a diameter of approx. 8cm. the flex measures approx. 58cm in length. The clock displays typical wear for its age. With rubbing& wear to the surfaces. The bakelite casing wooden surround displays rubbing& small scratches to the surface. To the top of the clock, there is a small chip to the left rear corner, with two hairline cracks running from it, the longest measuring approx. 5cm in length. To the back of the clock, there is a crack near to the large dial. Internally, close inspection reveals that the hands of the clock display slight rusting. The clock remains in good working order and keeps good time, in addition, the rather loud(and annoying) ... morealarm remains in working order. Cat and base are made of metal and marked"Japan" on the bottom, the shakers are also marked"Japan" on the the bottoms. The round salt and pepper shakers are plastic the holes make and"S" and a"P" shape. The metal base measures 5 1/4" x 2" the height is measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the dog's ear is 2" The shakers are both 1" in diameter. Extremely Rare H. G. McFadden Emeralite Bellova Art Deco Swing-Arm Table Lamp
This is an extremely rare. Very early, and all original H. G. McFadden Swing-Arm Table Lamp. It has an iconic Emeralite Bronze Base married with his even more rare Bellova Shade! This particular Bellova shade is in the russet brown color! Harrison G. McFaddin created both the Bellova and Emeralite lamp lines. The Emeralite Lamp was first created in 1909 and the Bellova line followed in 1923. A lso. M y understanding is that marrying an Emeralite Base with a Bellova Shade was quite common and desired in the 1920’s/30’s when these designs were being produced. There is no date stamp. However. The patent numbers are clearly stamped on both the lower and center swing-arm pivot points. These original patent numbers read as follows: PATS. 1.589,845 2.088,321 2.119,987 The entire lamp is completely intact showing a deep original patina. The Bellova ... moreglass shade itself is completely intact without any cracks or chips. The shade has an overall variegated or mottled design along with a very unique extended and flared cut-out area with scroll work around its outside rim. This Bellova shade is very rare! The lamp has the original functioning on/off switch and I believe it has original wiring inside the lamp. There is electrical tape on two of the wiring connections. see pic) I’m not sure if this was done to protect the wiring or not so, although the lamp works fine, I would consider having the lamp rewired if it were to be used. I’m not sure if the cord is original although the plug end does appear to be from this period. It also has the original shade attaching thumb screw. There are deco-style brass finials on the top and/or bottom of each swing-arm pivot point and also on top of the glass shade. The felt on bottom base is original and still somewhat intact although I did pull it back a ways to search for a date stamp. There is a very small wear mark on the base. located right under the on/off switch) which would be consistent from prolonged use. This is not a dent, just a wear mark. The candlesticks may not have originally come with the set as the faux guilloche pattern is different although the colour is identical. A vintage art deco style 8 piece original manicure and pedicure set in its original leather case. The handle color is a marbelized tortoise brown and tan plastic or bakelite. The pieces graduate in size from about 4- 5 3/4" long. The metal trimmers are marked. Germany" and"Schnefel Bros. New Jersey" and"La Cross" on the side with a nice engraved design on the handle sides. The dark brown and darn tan leather case is soft with two snap closures and shows just a minor crease from storage. 5 Art Deco Ceiling Fixture Slip Shades ca 1935, white frost geometric
These sh ades cam e out of a house in no rth ce ntral Austin which was built between 1935 and 1945. They are in very good condition. Aside from two interior chips on the interior point(would not show) where they insert into the f ixture. A few tiny rough spots along the interior mold lines a few cei ling paint drips. And a few tiny scuffs(will probably be vanished by the right talent/chemical) Dimensions are: 8" to first"not ch" from bottom point*12" from p oint to point on apex*appro x. 60 de gree angle on interior V(the V that it sits on when placed flat on table) 2/2/13: I AM SICK AND SAD to tell you that one of the shad es has developed a crack that runs halfway through. As shown in the last ph oto. I left the shades out on a screened porch. And the temperature di pped to near freezing for a couple of mornings. Then ... moreheated up gradually to 58-60 degrees for the highs-ahhhh those be autiful winter days here in central Texas. This is my only guess as to how it got cracked. No one has touched it since I photo graphed them and tucked them safely away from har m. Or so I thought. Does anyone know if the crack can be stablized with the same type of silicone( injection that is used on win dshield c racks?

ANTIQUE FRENCH ART DECO PORCELAIN INKWELL BY GEORGES BASTARD- E. MARGERIE - RARE
Offered for Auction: A Rare Art Deco Pottery Ink Well created by Georges Bastard(French 1881-1939) and colorfully hand decorated and signed by E. Margerie. Per Wikipedia Georges Bastard was born into a very accomplished family of artisans and was appointed the director of the National School of Decorative Arts of Limoges and the Manufacture nationale de Sevres. The lively decoration has pairs of stylized flowers in cobalt and yellow and bold. Black free-form lines which link the flowers. In the center of the cobalt flowers there are holes on either side of the opening, I assume for holding the pens or for dipping. The ink well would have had a rounded cover with a hole, however that is missing. The ink well probably dates from the late 1920's to early 30's and is signed on the bottom Bastard, Paris 16/1400 Made in France. I have not ... morefound any further information regarding E. Margerie. Condition: Good given its age and use. However there are some rough and discolored areas inside of the well as shown. There is a production hairline crack on the inside of the lip as shown(it is glazed over) The bisque bottom is discolored. The ink well measures approximately 1 1/2" H x 3 5/8 in diameter at its girth and the opening is about 1" in diameter and it weighs 4 oz. A nice addition to anyone's Art Deco or Ink Well collection. Vintage 50+ Year Old Silverleaf & Glass Vase art deco
This auction is for an antique glass and silver vase which is over fifty years old. The person I am selling it for is 59 and remembers it from when he first started school. Measurements: 10 1/2 inches in height and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the top. The bottom of the vase is narrow and it gets wider moving up. There is a two inch band all around the rim which is sterling silver. Two flowers. A branch and fern appear to be raised on the glass.
