This mantel clock measures about 10-1/2" tall; 8" left to right; 3-5/8" front to back. This beautiful clock depicts two partially nude young women with cherubs at their feet. Great detail in the faces- eyes. Eye brows, lips. The women are wearing"skirts" the one on the left is light green, the one on the right is turquoise; the background is royal/cobalt blue. There is gilt near the base, near the top, and up from the cherubs around the face of the clock. The gilt does show surface wear. The peak of the clock is a pretty purple flower(poppy? The face of the clock is absolutely gorgeous! A white background, with two-tone gold(shiny and satin) ... moreThe Roman numerals are black on a white background, surrounded by the gold-tone design. The pretty hands of the clock are black with intricate designs. The name"Mercedes" appears below the"XII" Made in Germany" appears below the"VI" The two young women are reaching around the clock and should be holding hands, but their hands are broken(see photos) Other than this break, there are no cracks or chips that we have found. There are small"flea bites" here and there in the porcelain. When we first got this clock, it ran for about six hours. When we adjusted the speed, it stopped running. We re-wound the clock; now it runs for only a couple of minutes at a time. A beautiful clock for display(it does need a good cleaning) a great piece for a clock enthusiast. Each page is colored with the calendar at the bottom that can be detached so the print can be mounted. There are also 2 pages of antique Mercedes drawings. The calendars are in four languages- in German. English, French, and Spanish. The calendar in printed in Germany. Each page is suitable for framing. The images do not do the pictures justice due to a considerable amount of reflection. I have only shown 2 full pages with the attached calendars- nothing is missing.
