It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic.

I have never seen a roll top desk quite like this one. It might have been custom made for use in a office. It is all original, in obvious need of refinishing, unless you prefer the original condition, albeit stains, scratches, etc. typical of piece of this age. There is a large roll up door on left with compartments and one drawer, the board pulls out allowing leg room to work at desk, it seems a big short, but if you measure to top of pull out board it measures 25" high, appears to be ample room for your legs. Overall dimensions of the desk are 45" wide by 31" deep by 44" tall. The right side has small roll up door with compartments for files, note the name"Dearborn" stamped on surface. Any molding damaged was replaced, any panels that were damaged were replaced, any wood damaged or ink-stained was replaced– we do one heck of a job when we go through a desk! The interior has burl walnut pencil trays and cubby drawers, and the original letter holders on both sides of the desk. We’ve even replaced the felt insert with the original factory dark green color. It has an applied beveled edge base, and a finished off back. We always put a reproduction roll-top lock in, which will be done before shipping. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 36 inches deep, 30 inches high to the writing surface from the floor, and 50 inches high to the top of the desk. This RollTop Desk(47hx32dx54w) has three major moving parts aside from the six side drawers and four inside birds-eye faced drawers. The first moving part is the Facing which rolls back. The second is the desktop which rolls out to reveal 4 more birds-eye detailed drawer facings(facing only and not actual drawers) The third is a writing platform embedded into the desktop which can be propped up as shown in one of the pictures. None of the locks work- as I have none of the keys to test them. There are imperfections in the form of scratches and in one area(top tight as shown in one of the pictures) where a portion.About 1 to 1.5 inch square, of the wood facing is missing.

Here is a wonderful and useful roll top desk from the Paris Mfg. Co. In original condition. The desk is made of oak and stamped on the back w/Paris Mfg. Co. South Paris, Me, No. 61. It has an antique patina and nice full size, but not being overwhelming in any room. The Paris Mfg. Co. was started by a man named Henry Franklin Morton as a hobby in 1861. The company first made sleds which were hand decorated by Morton's wife, Lucinda, in their kitchen at West Sumner, Maine. In an effort to stay in business year round, other goods were added, and Morton and his wife moved the operation to So. Paris, Maine, to be closer to a railroad depot. Antique 1920s Wine Bottle Mail Box Cabinet Vintage Roll Top Desk Table Art Deco
This is a vintage mail cabinet from the 1920s that can be used as a wine cabinet. This comes in two pieces. The bottom piece is 30" X 30" X 18" There are 4 drawers and 2 opening cabinets. The top part is 25.5" X 36" X 13.5" This part has a sliding door that has a key hole to lock(Key is not included and lock has not been tested) There are 30 slots in the top part. 750mL standard bottles and 1.5L magnum bottles were used in these photographs. They fit inside the slots. But the door CAN NOT slide down and close when these bottles are inside. The half bottle(375mL) will be the only bottle that allows the cabinet to slide down and close. Cabinet shows signs of use and age. Please refer to photographs.

Massive Antique Quarter-Sawn Oak Roll Top Desk Owned by Canadian Mounties
Massive antique oak roll top desk made by Horrocks— practically a ship. 71.5" wide. 35" almost 35.5" deep, with 30.5" of desk surface, and 43" high at the tallest point. This desk spent most of its life in an office of the Canadian Mounties. A traveling U.S. citizen fell in love with it and talked the Mounties into selling it to him; he moved it to Colorado, where he discovered it was too big to fit into his study/office, and so it went into storage for 40 years. It came to Santa Cruz, CA, in 1970; my father, who loves all things massive and well-made, bought it and it has been in my family's home since then. It needs a new home. A big one. With a big door. The smaller things: this desk has three deep drawers to the left of the chair space and two to the right(one is sized as a file cabinet) And a large flat drawer ... morewith a key(we have the key) It has many small drawers at the back of the desk space. There are two very cool corner drawers(on the inside of the inner arch, and they open up to a curved trough, which is perfect for pens and pencils. There is a mystery drawer with no known key. There are two pull-out writing tables. One drawer has a chip taken out of the wood, and we have the piece(as shown) One leg(to the left of the chair space) needs some refinishing. The desk is in very good general condition, and could use a good waxing. The hardware is brass. The roll top can stick but it works. And we have the key for it, too. Finally, the number"1821" is stamped on the underside of the desk. This is a splendid and dramatic desk. It is also comfortable to use. Its size makes it easier to accommodate modern office equipment than most antiques.

Credenza has a full locking roll-top with leather topped desk. Full cabinet on right side with shelf and four drawers on the left. Desk has an amazing full gallery removable top piece, spoon carved in center with open carved edge detail, matching the base. 3 desk keys and original caster wheels are included. There is no key for the side cabinet. Cabinet does not latch closed. The Indianapolis Cabinet Co. closed its doors sometime in the late 1800s. Please ask for additional pictures if needed. Condition: The cabinet is in amazing condition for its 150 plus years of age- the roll-top and lock function beautifully. All ... moredrawers and cabinets push/pull smoothly. Behind the roll, dated April 29, 1909, addressed to Gus Lilquist, City from C. W. Davis, Lumber and Coal, Gladstone, Mich. postmarked Gladstone, Mich.1909. Research indicates that Gus operated a saloon in Gladstone up until 1918. The intrigue builds! There is a bullet hole through the front of one of the drawers, and a round ball impression on the inside of the drawer where the ball stopped, like from an old muzzle loader! The door on the side which had been locked was kicked in. ... moreWhat valuables did Gus keep behind that door! What sort of ruffians did Gus have to deal with in Gladstone in the early 1900s! Was there a shoot-out! Was there a murder! Was there a robbery! What happened! Who knows! My beautiful and mysterious desk has 4 drawers on one side. And a door on the other side with 3 square open cubbyholes, above 3 long open cubbyholes that are behind the door. Above each side, just under the writing surface, is a pull-out board. The cubbyhole section contains 18 open slots, 1 drawer, and 2 pencil slots. The tambour slides easily and has a key to lock it. Its dimensions are 48" wide, 30" deep, and 44" tall. It is in very good. Beautiful condition. I have included photos of the bullet hole. Antique Roll Top Quarter-sawn desk in oak--early 1900s and chair
This is a beautiful S-curve roll top desk in very good condition. We have owned this desk for 35 years. But the prior owner found an envelope inside the desk dated 1905. It is crafted all around so does not have to be placed against a wall. The drawers have dovetail joints-a few of the joints are loose, but drawers work fine. There are 3 locks-one on the roll-top, one on the side or end of the desk, and one on the right-hand door and we have all keys and the locks work perfectly. The top rolls up and down very smoothly. I do not know who made the desk. The oak chair did not come with it, but matches nicely. 2 of the back slats are broken but the swivel and wheels are very sturdy and work great. Chair is free. There are 8 drawers in the lower section; 2 large bottom drawers each 10”h x 12”w x 33”d, and 6 smaller upper drawers each 3”h x 12”w x 33”d. The open section between the drawers, for a desk chair, is 29" wide. The upper section under the roll top contains 24 cubbyholes with drawers, that each have a solid brass pull opener that will also accommodate a label; I have never seen another desk with that many drawers with solid brass openers like these. There are also 8 vertical slots, 8 horizontal slots, 2 wider drawers and 2 small 1/4 round drawers designed to hold pens and pencils. All of these compartments are great for keeping all your office supplies organized. The base(the leg/foot area) is of a"closed architecture" type(as opposed to an open back style) All the drawers in the lower section are built with dovetail joints. Late 1800's roll top desk. It measures 59 1/2" Wide. 40" Deep and 47" Tall. This is a antique roll top desk from the late 1800's. I was told it was built by Ambergs and even has the original Ambergs indexicon folders that are in good condition. Original and with no writing in them. The other rare thing is the paper card drawers. You almost never see those and this desk has them. I was told by a antique appraiser that the desk from the late 1800's and is very complete. The outside has been stripped and refinished. The inside is very original as you can see from the pictures. The tambour is missing but they are still available. The wood is an incredibly dense& heavy hardwood. I believe it may be Lignum Vitae or similar tropical species. It has a Colonial look to it& the choice of timber used certainly suggests this. This beautiful roll top lap desk is beautifully painted and very ornate. It is painted on the top and front and all sides depicting pictures of a hunt and a lady fanning in a chair and a man lounging on one side smelling a flower on the back are painted blue flowers. The desk top rolls back and the drawer opens to reveal 3 compartments with embossed tops covering each one. This desk measures 15 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide Approx. 6 inches at the highest point. Antique Victorian Mahogany Cylinder "Roll Top" Desk - Rare FInd
This is a fabulous antique Victorian cylinder(roll top) desk with a pull-out tooled leather writing surface. It slides easily without hard pulling. The middle section tilts up and is propped in place at several different angles by a wooden support for writing or use with a lap-top computer. The left section lifts to expose a pocket below that can be used to store important papers. Stationery, or other office supplies. The right section is fixed. Far to the right is a tray for writing instruments, and two wooden dividers separate part of that tray into small cubes for paper clips, pins, and other smaller objects as desired. According to web sources. The"cylinder" desk was the predecessor to the roll top and had been in use in France in the 1700's. The cylinder desk was discontinued- in favor of the"rolltop" desk with ... morea canvas shade with wooden slats fastened to it- simply because it was so difficult to keep the large, long, cylinder- made from a single piece of wood- from warping or bending with time, causing friction and disuse. This desk does not have any such warping of the cylinder. It rolls back into the body of the upper portion with ease and closes just as easily. It can be done with one hand, of course, but as the wooden cylinder is NOT flimsy, it's best closed with two hands. It is a solid as it looks in the pictures. It seems to be counter-balanced, as it moves easily. When closed correctly, it locks the writing surface(which should have been pushed back in place prior to lowering the cylinder) with a key lock(one key provided) The lock works well. You'll note the dovetail work on the bottom pedestal drawers. This may assist you in verifying the age of the piece. Everything is solid wood. The six drawers in the pedestals have brass key locks. But I have no keys for them. There are six smaller drawers on the upper portion of the desk are numbered with roman numerals on the back edges. The measure 6.5" x 9.25" x 2" OD. S CURVE ROLL TOP DESK 1905 WITH PIGEON HOLE TOP. SECRET DOOR AND CHAIR This desk was purchased for the 1905 opening of Philadelphia's Northest High School for Manual Trades at 8th and Lehigh Ave. Later. The school became Northeast High School for Boys until a new Northeast High opened in 1957. Then the building was renamed Edison High School. In 1966 I rescued this desk from the school incinerator. In 1972 I had it refurbished and used it for the next 40 years at home. The desk is 50" wide and 48" high. It has deep drawers. A working lock and a secret door on the lower right side. The roll up sticks a bit on the way up, but otherwise operates smoothly. The desk surface is a bit rough and there are definite but minor signs of age. So I can only go by what I was told, but back when I bought it, the dealer informed me that the desk AND chair are a MATCHED PAIR that are from the 1920's. He said the brass hardware on the drawers are consistent with that period, but is not certain if they are the actual ... moreoriginal handles that were on it the day it was first sold. Unfortunately, I can't remember the manufacturers name, but you might be able to tell by looking at the pictures. I looked it over and couldn't find any labels or markings. I love the little chair. The fully functional brass hardware and triple banister post back. Coupled with the corkscrew design for raising and lowering the chair height is such a clever and inventive design. It is also very strong and sturdy! They just don't make chairs this durable any more! You can truly feel the history when you see this set. It is a great little set. The desks roll top is fully functional and there are little cubby cubicles inside for storage. There are 2 smoothly sliding drawers with a skeleton key type lock. No key though. The desk and chair both have the normal wear and tear marks from the last almost 100 years. But they both in pretty good shape considering it was used by children. You can see minor maintenance repairs here and there, but nothing major that I can see. Just stuff like a couple new screws here and there.
