The large upper cabinet has flexible. Movable ... moreshelves and period glass doors. It rests atop a cylinder or roll top desk area with a small drawer and several pigeon holes. The writing surface is covered in black felt and pulls out to provide a larger area. There is a large overhanging drawer as well as two smaller drawers and a cabinet below, for even more storage. All of the drawers have brass pulls and escutcheons and dovetail joints. The lower area is spoon carved in a charming leaf pattern. This piece most likely dates from the late 1800's. This piece is in good condition. But does have some cosmetic flaws, as is to be expected in a piece of this age. Several of the escutcheons are missing as well as the door pulls on the upper cabinet. The drawer pulls are loose as well and one of the escutcheons looks like it has been reattached. There is a piece of wood missing from the molding below the desk top as well. See picture) There is also significant wear to the felted writing surface. No other significant damage or repairs. The entire desk stands about 88" 7'4" tall. It is 36" wide and 24" deep at the largest points. This piece is listed for'local pickup only' We encourage buyers to stop by our 11.000 square foot shop to preview this amazing piece in person. This Spectacular Early American Solid Plank Pine Armoire/Wardrobe is Circa 1785-1800 Of course this piece was all hand made. No doubt by an early American craftsman. It features thick solid pine plank construction.The armoire has tons of character marks and great patina, I restored the finish with a hand rubbed varnish to protect the wood and bring out the gorgeous graining and character marks. The early hand wrought iron nails are exposed.At the door frame front corner faces you can see the two hand made pegs at each corner. They secure the hand made mortise and tenon joinery of the door frames. The entire top has one solid plank of pine which is dovetailed with one large dovetail joint into the sides of the armoire.The blackened graining of the pine is natural and makes for beautiful highlights to the pine. The cornice detail which trims ... morethe cabinet top is superb. Another rare and excellent feature is the original hand made clothes hooks which swivel left& right. They are hand-pegged into their support piece. The whitewashed cabinet inside appears to be original. There are also a few tiny remnants of a linen/muslim cloth held by wrought nails inside the cabinet.It appears the cabinet was one lined with linen cloth. The iron lock is original, I had a period style key made,the key is solid brass which I painted to match the hardware.The lock and key work excellently. The hardware is reproduction period style iron hardware.This piece has many nicks. Dings and character marks in the wood, There is an exposed nail on the lower left front corner where a chip of wood has been missing for a long time, I like the fact you can see this nail, it adds tremendous character& history to this piece, I made no attempt to restore this area, I think it is unique! 1800S ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FURNITURE, CHEST STEAMER TRUNK WORKING LOCK & KEY
Up for consideration is a very nice victorian trunk. It has a working lock and key. The left lattch. Or hasp, is missing but still closes securely with lock. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. It is a nice trunk that is sturdy. 4 Antique Vintage Metal Tin & Brass Furniture Remnants Hardware Drawer Pulls
Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing. A very nice find, great for reuse on any piece of furniture or to be repurposed on any steampunk style project. Here are 4 NOS mounting brackets for your antique casters. They will Fit most standard antique wooden wheels on dressers and office chairs. Expect some signs of corrosion from age and handling- they remain fully functional. The pieces pictured are not the ones shipped but are from the same lot and are the same size and quality. I would say these. Berkey and Gay Furniture antique buffet cabinet and console
Up for auction are a buffet cabinet and console set made by Berkey and Gay Furniture company. Both in nice condition. I purchased this cabinets second hand one year ago with another B&G piece. It is too big for our house, so we are selling it. Manufacture date unknown, but I suspect late 1800's to early 1900's based on several similar examples I found on the Internet. Cabinet and console seem very solid. The cabinet is extremely heavy. Drawers and doors all work smoothly. The door on the left has a hairline fracture line(see third picture above) I cannot determine if this occurred naturally or as a result of some other damage. It does not appear to have been repaired by any method that I can determine. But I am also not an expert in furniture repair. The console matches the cabinet in ornate detail. Appears to have been manufactured ... moresimilar in age. The buffet is 8' long. The console is 4' long. These are very nice pieces with some small blemishes. I have an unusual pressed or stamped. Nickel plated steel lot of 8 old door latches for your consideration. These could be in nice reusable condition with a little cleaning and lube. All the springs seem to be intact and work. A little sticky on a couple. I am uncertain of there age although my guess would have been from a wooden built in cabinet or cupboard door from the late 20's early 30's. They have a deco pattern on handles. Nicely, these appear to have had a flush strikeplate application so you will be able to find something that would work more easily. Might be a nice addition for a reworked piece of furniture or cabinet/cupboard door. measure 1 7/16 inches from ctr to ctr of mounting screw holes. It probably was used on a cherry bedroom or dining room suit. It is solid brass and very substantial. They have never been used and have been in storage for years. They are original Keeler Brass handles. Not reproductions. They were probably manufactured in the 1930's- 1950's. The finish is a shiny brass and not pitted at all.
