This is a reverse glass painting of the U.S. Capitol Building apparently created in 1916. The 1916 date is difficult to read due to wear( the'1' is nearly invisible) but I have seen other examples of this work and know that the date is 1916. VERY GOOD CONDITION for its age- but has suffered some flaking and paint loss. Also. There are 3 patches of aluminum foil repair which is common for reverse painting on glass. Victorian Tryptic Painting on Reverse Etched Glass Mirror Velvet Frame Flowers
This piece of art is wonderful.unique. Rare. It does need restoration.but I think the job would be relatively easy. The first layer of backing(closest to the glass) is cardboard or brown paper, in addition there is slate or wood or both. All can be removed and the restorer can fill in the missing paint.which is mostly of the flowers in the middle. The frames are wood covered with dark green velvet.some of which is missing on the left most picture. In any event they need to be rebacked anyway. The two side panels are each approx. 17" x 29" and the middle one is 28 X 29" I am having some difficulty photographing this due to not wanting to have my picture in the photo.and thus obscuring the design. This is a beauiful antique American trumeau style mirror with a very nice reverse painting on glass painting of Mount Vernon above the mirror and then the mirror below. Both are in nice condition though there may be a bit of dust showing on the mirror in the photos. The frame has some minor wear from use but also is in good condition and looks very nice. On the back it says Gene Village N.H. and I assume this is Gene's Village New Hampshire. It also has the names of two people on the back that appear to be previous owners- see photos. The back shows wood panel held with flat head screws and the base legs are of two FU FOO DOGS images carved in wood at base ends. RARE ANTIQUE EXOTIC WOOD STEEPLE SHELF CLOCK REVERSE PAINTING MOP PULL
This is a very fine antique steeple clock with the most unusual beautiful wood case. I do not know what the wood is.very similar but prettier than a flame maple. The face of the clock was at some point painted by hand rather crudely and has some chips to the paint. The reverse painted panel in the door however is fantastic! The colors and painting are quite beautiful! There is a mother of pearl door pull. There are two bells. A brass pendulum as well as a key. I had the clock serviced about 6 years ago and never used it. I started it up and it runs great.very clean. I don't know how to take it apart to get the manufacturer name. Finials look as if they could be a slightly different shade. 19 1/4" tall 10 3/8" wide 4 1/4" deep 6 1/2 pounds The clock is most likely from the 1800's. Sold without a reserve.

The clock case looks to be very old but in decent condition and definitely useable with some TLC. There is a reverse painting on the front glass. There is some paint chipping away from the painting but the glass isn't cracked or chipped. The movement is signed E. Ingraham Co. Bristol, Conn. USA with the numbers 6, 04. I think that would be the date of June 1904. The movement it self needs work. I couldn't get it to stay ticking. It looks like There have already been repairs to this movement over the years. The frame shows some obvious aesthetic signs of age as pictured but these detail give it the perfect patina and a great look(authentic) The structure of the frame is very solid and in good condition. We are offering for bid a nautical silhouette of the famous American clipper ship“Flying Cloud” The Flying Cloud was designed for speed as well as for beauty by Donald McKay. In 1851 it made its maiden voyage from New York to San Francisco in record speed and maintained the distinction of that record for many years. Although this ship is known mainly for its record of speed. It also held another record of distinction. A woman, Elanor Creesy, served as the navigator on its 1851 voyage. Such a position was unheard of for a female in the mid-nineteenth century. The silhouette image of the Flying Cloud ship is on the reverse of the glass in black and is set in a shadow box type frame. There is a slight space between the image and the beige background. The artwork and framing creates a three dimensional image. Up for bid is this gorgeous antique silhouette reverse painting on convex glass featuring a Victorian couple engaged in a wedding proposal inside a drawing room or parlor. Unique to the artist. This style is unusual for silhouette images, as it's the silhouettes of a chandelier and table with vining plant, rather than the man and woman's, that are painted in black on the back side of the beveled glass. This is then backed with a litho print of the courtship or engagement taking place within the Victorian interior design with Baroque elements. A signature border frames the picture, and the piece is set in its original wood frame that has a carved baroque Art Nouveau design. The beautifully illustrated print is faintly marked in the lower left hand corner"S. Colef 3-15-42" The artists name is Corporal S. Colef. And these were ... moremade at the beginning of World War II when the Victorian lovers theme was very popular. The raised bubble glass gives the illusion of depth. One crease on the side, and slight warping due to a tear spot from the nail. The back boarding has its original picture hanger intact, but it should probably be reinforced. Up for auction is a rare reverse glass painting of the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf made by Walt Disney Enterprises and Reliance Framing Company in the early 1930s. In the early 1930s. Walt Disney recognized that people wanted Walt Disney images in their homes but failed to recognize that he could easily sell the cels he used for producing the cartoons. Instead he entered into a contract with Reliance Framing Company to frame reverse glass images of Walt Disney characters conceived by Walt Disney Studio artists. As the paint used did not stand the test of time. These reverse glass painting have become very rare. As can be seen in the pictures. Description This Southern belle is beautiful with her soft pastel colors and her hat with flowers. The painting is reverse painting on glass. This includes the mat which is part of the painting. The color of the mat is burgundy. It look as though it is airbrushed. The painting measures approx 9 1/2 inches x 11 1/2 inches inside the frame. With the frame it measures approx 11 inches x 13 inches. The frame is really not much just painted wood but it will keep the painting safe in transit. The age is unknown. WELCOME! You are bidding on an antique advertising thermometer with a reverse silhouette painting on the glass of the trees and a man cooking over the fire. And the background of a colored print with a cabin and boat on the water. The advertising is for"Fred's Modern Shoe Shop- Opposite of Hotel Ottumwa" That would have been years ago in Ottumwa, Iowa. My dad said he remembers the place, but it has been many many a years ago. So, this would be great for any collector or someone that specialized in Ottumwa, IA. The condition is a slightly rough. It looks like it has gotten moisture and the frame needs a good cleaning with some surface rust in places. The glass has some spots on it that need cleaned off, but I decided to leave all that to the purchaser so I don't ruin it anymore. The colored background picture has some ripples ... moreand there is a hole through it. Probably from when someone tried to hang it once. The thermometer seems to work okay. There is what looks to me like some type of black and white Terrier dog standing on green grass. Scottie Terriers were popular to have on jewelry. The background color is white with a slight tine of cream. The glass is dome shape and the backs are silver metal. APPROX. The“slides” on the studs work nice and smooth. The metal portion shows some wear. I cleaned these but did not polish them because most buyers like the patina that comes with age. Stained Glass window / Reverse Painting on Glass
This was the centerpiece to a larger stained glass window. Originally it looked to be from a church. It measures 11 3/4" round and it is a reverse painting on 1/4" glass.This item can be incorporated in things or it can just sit on a windowsill and look great like I had this. I disposed of the rest of the window many years ago because of too much damage and just kept this piece. Hope you like it.

Vintage /Antique Asian Snuff Bottle Reverse Painting with Fu Dog Stopper
Pictured here is a very unusual Chinese Snuff or Perfume Bottle. I acquired this piece at an auction in northwestern New York State for a collector of quality. As well as unusual items. The piece measures approximately 6 3/4 inches high by 4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inch deep. It is a reverse painting inside glass or rock crystal. The outside of the piece is smooth and flat where the artwork is seen. The remainder of the piece is carved with symbols and,I believe dragons. The very unique stopper is carved in the shape of a Fu Dog. It is in excellant condition. There are no chips or cracks evident. A wonderful and unique conversation and display piece. This item is being sold as a clearance item. There is no return on this purchase. All sales are final.

Antique Waterbury Clock Co. Mantle Clock Reverse Painting Bird w/ Original Label
For your consideration. A very nice Waterbury Clock Company, Waterbury Connecticut Mantle clock, with its original label, and a lovely reverse painting bird which looks to be an oriole. Please view all photos, and request additional if necessary. It has a mahogany veneer. Which has a bit of loss(see photos for areas) but the loss is in my opinion, not extensive, and could be repaired. As you can see, it has its original label, and looks like it is complete in terms of the bell, pendulum, fob, keys. The dial does not appear to have been repainted, nor does the bird. I am not sure if the portion where the painting is had a cover, but from the looks of it, I don't believe it did. Glass in the top portion looks to be original.Finials, oddly enough are is great shape and I cannot detect any repairs or damage. Everything on this clock appears ... moreto be original.There is no date printed on the label. I am not a clock expert,but if you are bidding on this I suspect you are and know what you are looking at. Charming small framed 11X6" framed reverse painting on glass of George Washington's home estate of Mt. Vernon. The paper background is missing but shows the abalone pillars and accents on the back. Offering this very nice. With some damage and unframed, Antique Reverse Painting on Bubble Glass of the United States Capital Building. It is dated 1916 and was copyrighted by the Chicago Portrait Company. There is some peeling in the very center that has been repaired with aluminum foil on the back, see photos. Small Antique Vintage Sheraton Split Panel Mirror Reverse Painting Eagle Top
This split panel mirror with reverse painting came from an auction in Vermont. The mirror measures 20 1/4" tall without the eagle top and 10 3/4" wide. The painting is of a home in the country. Some of the paint has come off the painting. See the 4th picture. There are some marks on the glass. The gilt and black split column frame has quite a bit of wear and some dings and cracks, see all pictures. Both pieces of glass are loose in the frame. I am unsure of it's age.
