You are bidding on: A Very Large& Framed Antique Late Victorian Off White Silk Fan This very large fan is made of fine silk and has gold or golden discs carefully sewn across its surfaces to illustrate leaves and delicate floral sprays. The ox bone sticks are intricately carved and pierced. All are joined at bottom by a Mother of Pearl button. None of the sticks have any damage. Handsomely displayed in an antiqued gold gilt shadow box lined with sage-colored velvet or velveteen. I've noticed a few very small holes or breaks in the silk.but they are very small and very few. Offered for sale is this exquisite antique Chinese framed carved wood and bone panel. It was probably from a cabinet. The piece depict raised carved wood and bone birds, butterflies and flowers. The frame measures 12-1/8" x 5-3/8" x 3/8"thickness and the inside panel is 10-5/8" x 3-3/4" It is heavy for its size, it weighs 11.6 oz(329 gm) The carved inlaid wood seems boxwood. Don't know what kind of wood to made of the frame and inside panel, both have beautiful grain. The white carving seems like bone or other material. The piece is in excellent condition except one bird's beak missing, and the frame have been re-glued, please see picture#10, but nothing wrong on front. This is a stunning antique detailed hand embroidered needlepoint tapestry. it is held by a gorgeous hand carved vintage articulated wooden frame which has a deep stain and nice ribbed design. the needlepoint is beautifully done with an abundance of intricate detailing and has rich color. it has nice stylized detailing with a great hand embroidered trim. it is sewn into a black linen backing and mounted under glass. there is also hand cut miniature circular mirrors used in the piece of art as well. the needlepoint alone measures 16 by 16 inches. the frame is very heavy and measures 22 1/4 by 22 1/4 inches. in great condition. The wood is pretty good on the front and sides. But the back has seen it's better days. The cardboard backing is messed up and taped on. I would replace this if I was going to keep it. I occassionally use USPS for lightweight items if it is cheaper. The frames on these are 15”x17" The actual busts are about 9”x11" and 9.5”x11.5” The back of the frames are made out of plywood. So they have typical chips on the edges. The front of the frames have typical dings and scratches for vintage wood pieces. The busts are in great shape. Only one shows some chips at the bottom of the hair. They are unsigned, but look to be from Bali. If they were signed, it would be on the back of the carvings, and the only way to check that is to rip them off the frames. This beautiful mirror is 43"x 31" with a 4" decorative hand carved frame painted gold. The mirror and frame are in excellent shape. I'm not sure how old the mirror is but it's been hanging in my families house since at least early 1950's. I can't see the original back since there is piece of wood nailed on the back of frame. It has a sturdy wire on back for hanging. The frame is very very ornate 4" frame made of wood. Hand carved and painted gold. It is rectangular and could be hung on wall with the 43" side at bottom and would be a beautiful focus piece in a large room or it could be hung with 31" at bottom for a smaller room. Has a multi string on back to hang, maybe needs replaced. I think some folks call these a theactrical stage type mirror. It is very heavy. Found in a old barn covered with dust. Frame has some thin tiny cracks on front ... morethat can be filled in or left for original aged look. Has scuffs and/or chips and missing paint. Back repaired with styrofoam-board for mirror's protection. Mirror has some hazing. Darkened specks and spots. It's not perfect and could use a little TLC. Would be a somewhat lite job. Has smell from sitting in the old barn for years, was told the folks burned wood right next to the barn, so it may have picked up that smell. I have only lightly cleaned dust from it, so everything but back is original. I do not see any major missing wood, but maybe worn area's here and there, and surprisingly it looks pretty nice to be this old. And from a distance I thought it looked great. Some scratches and spots on glass mirror. The mirror is very heavy. Sturdy and built to last. Overall a great old piece from the past! Looks like someone was painting it at one time, it has some over-spray on mirror front. can come off easy. It maybe old and used but it's solid and still beautiful. Vintage? Wood Carved Eagle in Flight & Branch Framed Sliced Folk Art Wood Frame
For your consideration we are offering this wonderful example of American? carved wood folk art. The framed piece has a carved wood eagle done in various levels of relief assembled like a puzzle. I am guessing that this was created in America. Based on the subject. I do not know for sure what the country of origin is, or it age. The piece is not signed anywhere. The details and skill of the carved pieces are very nicely done. The piece appears to be hand crafted. I cannot say positively. The eagle is shown in flight approaching a branch to land on. The branch is carved with various colored wood in the same puzzle various level bas relief effect. The eagle and branch are displayed on a piece of plywood, the whole folk art piece is in a fantastic folk art frame. The frame is comprised of sliced wood branches or various sizes and tops of circle ... morewood pieces; assembled to create this wonderful frame. These pieces were then applied to strips of wood to create the frame. The frame is not stained it was left natural. At one time the back of the frame was covered with a paper backing. At some time in the past this backing was removed. The piece has been used and displayed. There is some loss of finish on the plywood background. I am guessing maybe from cleaning. There is also a lightly darkened area above the eagle on the plywood background. I cannot tell if this is some kind of tape residue. Or if at one time there was something else above the eagle that was lost. If there was something else above the eagle this may be residue from an adhesive, I cannot tell for sure what it is. I tried to show this area closer in the photo. It is light so difficult to photo. This area is not rough or raised. There are also a few pings in the wood frame. Please see photos for a closer view. The framed folk art piece measures approximately 17& 7/8" wide. And the framed piece measures approximately 14& 1/8" high. Offered for sale is this vintage Chinese carved wood frame miniature screen. I am not pretty sure the screen what material to make of. It looks like jade. Coral and other mineral to me, but I pretty sure they are material natural colors. The pale green jade back board shows a few short cracks as seen in the pictures. Except the few short cracks the piece is in excellent condition. I think this piece was made around early to mid 20th century. It is a gorgeous home decor piece. The top square frame is removable. The screen measures 7-1/8"W x 6-3/4"H x 2-3/4"Deep.
