This is a lovely early 1950s dress in a black rayon with a wonderfully flattering cut! The dress sports 3/4 sleeves with a pert bow at the elbow. Fitted waist with slim A-line skirt, a center gather at the bust with pleating, and a lovely beaded satin neckline that shimmers in the light with clear and silver glass beads. Not often when you find them in this condition because they were used daily. I believe this one was saved by the painter of the lift handle. It measures 16"high and is 21.5" in diameter at the top and tapers to 17" at the bottom. All original staples and handle clips.
