Authentic Vintage 1930's Silk Chiffon Cape Gatsby Dress L, XL, XXL Amazing!
Incredible rare silk chiffon dress from the 1930's. The perfect dress for the Gatsby afternoon summer picnic or another vintage event where you want to make a statement! This beautiful. Flowing white and royal blue floral print dress has many gorgeous features, especially the built-in cape feature. The dress is actually sleeveless. Though the cape comes all around to the front bodice and covers the arms almost to the elbows.such a nice feature for those of us who"don't do sleeveless" The cape also has amazing applique details, cutouts from the print of the dress embroidered onto the cape. It is hard to see the details in the photos due to the print. But there is a built-in waistline and belt loops, though there is no longer a belt(easy to add a white one. There are details on the yoke with a double layers leading up to the ... morekeyhole opening. There are several gores in the skirt of the dress that adds to the flow of the dress. The fabric is quite sheer. Needs to be worn white a white or beige full slip. The best part is the generous size: given the flowing nature of the chiffon, it could fit anywhere from a L to XL to XXL. There is one flaw. About 4" from the bottom of the dress in front, a small hole about the size of the head of a Q-tip(see last photo) and a few other tiny pin pricks, with a slight yellowing of the fabric in this area. I truly had to search to find this, it is easily camouflaged in the print and flow of the dress. Measurements are: Bust: Up to 48" Waist: Up to 40" Hips: Up to 46" Length: 49" Believe me, this is a very special dress that will get rave reviews. Could probably be sold for a much higher price, but I am happy to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have!

My sisters and I inherited our Grandparent's estate about two years ago and we are still going through it. They were world travelers and had a love for Indian and native good from all ethnic cultures. These things have been in their home for as long as I can remember. This is a vintage alpaca poncho cape from Peru. There are not tags in it. The quality is amazing as is the peruvian art work on it. I sold a blanket last year that I think matched it. I have no Idea of it's age. The people who bought the blanket from me said it was about 45 years old or so. It is huge and measures 45 inches across and 46 inches from the top of the shoulder. Fringed bottom in wonderful tribal earth tones. It is in excellent condition, no holes, moth damage or scent.
