Beautiful Burgundy True Vintage 1940's Rayon Crepe and Lace Dress L-XL-XXL
Gorgeous true vintage dress from the 1940's in a large size. Perfect for an elegant evening affair. So many beautiful features: the lace insets in the bodice, and the lace draping from the detail at the waist. This makes a fabulous swing dance dress to twirl in! There are generous ruched sleeves, 12" long from the shoulder, so they cover the upper arms in a very nice way! Great darts in the bodice in front and at the neckline in back give it a great shape! The color is the deeper burgundy/purple shown in the main photo; some of the other photos are lighter than the dress really is. No signs of fading that is often seen in dresses of this era/color. Twleve beautifully covered buttons all down the front bodice. There are a couple of tiny issues: the covering on the 7th button down is slightly worn, there are two tiny holes, one right ... moreabove the waist, the other below the waist.I tried to show the size by showing the tip of a pen next to if, but honestly that makes them look bigger and more noticeable than they are! There is also about 4 inches of stitching in the front at the waist that looks hand sewn, but it would not be visible when wearing the dress. It's from the Velsen Delft factory in the Netherlands(Holland) see Discovering Dutch Delftware by Stephen J. Van Hook, p 89. It dates to the mid-1900's. It is all hand painted with the signature Velsen birds. This jar is in very good antique condition with two minor points of damage. There is a shallow chip on the edge of base that has been restored. It's shown in photo#11 but it is essentially invisible. Also. There are two small inclusions in the glaze near the edge of the lid(photo 12) that occurred when the jar was made. In addition. This is a museum quality vintage Navajo silver bolo tie containing a huge natural old Sleeping Beauty turquoise stone. Wonderfully accenting the stone are phenomenal intricately hand carved geometric patterns. Situated at the bottom of the bolo tie are some of the largest silver pins we have ever seen. Each pin measures about 3-1/8" long and is completely handmade with stunning geometric patterns. Situated half way up the leather bolo tie are two more sterling silver tubules. Vintage Men's XXL Pilgrim Satin Lined Robe
Men's vintage satin long robe in a bold navy and gold pattern with black satin trim at sleeves and pockets and satin sash. It is fully lined in black satin. A family member purchased this robe in the mid-1950's. Early 1960's and it has been carefully stored since that time with no signs of wear or flaws. He was a large man, so based on the following measurements, it is believed to be an XXL or at least an XL. Chest- 46" sleeve length- 27" shoulder to shoulder- 20" length- 50" There are no labels to indicate size or care instructions.
