Vintage 70s United Airlines Hawaiian Shirt by Sandwich Isles XL/XXL ?
This is a neat vintage Hawaiian shirt made for United Airlines by Sandwich Isles in Honolulu. I am not sure if this was worn by United staff or was a promotional item. It is made of a blue cotton and is a pullover style with a V neck and button. There is a perfectly matched fabric pocket on the chest. The size of the collar pretty much tells me this was from the 1970's. There is no longer a size tag inside. But this looks pretty large, mostly likely an XL or perhaps XXL. When laid flat, the chest measures 26" across from pit to pit. The shoulders are 21" across from seam to seam. The length is 28" from the back collar seam to the hem. The shirt is in very good gently worn condition. There is a small ink spot on the front side. I already washed this, so it is ready to wear.
