Saint Mary's Episcopal Church Congregational Church Eugene Oregon Postcard 1910s
For auction is a used but uncancelled postcard. The subject is"Eugene Oregon St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Congregational Church. No. 1728A. The publisher is identified as"Publ. by Portland Post Card Co. Portland, Ore. and Seattle, Wash. Made in Germany. The post card measure 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 in. 14.0 x 9.0 cm) Good condition. Minor edge wear as is typical of a card this age. There is a two inch crack in the lower right corner. On the reverse of the card. The stamp box reads"Place Postage Here Domestic Island Possessions Canadian Mexican 1c Foreign 2c" From Saint Mary's website: One of the many things that make St. Mary’s a special place in which to worship and find fellowship is its history. This parish began in Eugene’s pioneer days with the first church building being constructed by members on an acre of land ... morethat had been given by the city’s founder Eugene Skinner and his wife Mary. Who was a charter member of St. Mary’s. The first service in the building which Missionary Bishop Thomas Fleming Scott described as“ a very neat and appropriate building capable of seating 125-150 persons, erected mainly by the citizens… took place on Sunday, January 23, 1859. The fledgling congregation got off to a good start through the guidance of the Rev. Johnston McCormac who served for the next ten years. The next two decades saw priests coming and going, none stayed long but the small congregation held on and grew. Stability returned in 1889 when the 65 year old Daniel Loveridge came to Eugene from the Diocese of Albany, NY. The Rev. Loveridge was an accomplished scholar of Hebrew and Greek. He served until 1907. He was also a talented wood carver and among his many gifts was the altar that is in the church’s side chapel. The 20th century saw the parish grow and become active in helping several other Episcopal churches get started in the Eugene/Springfield area. In 1938 St. Mary’s moved to a new brick building on the corner of 13th and Pearl Streets in Eugene and an education wing was added in 195

ST J MEC- Methodist Episcopal Church? plate
Howdy! One thing you often find in Chicago restaurantware are church and religious institution pieces. I suspect this is one of them from back in the 1920s. This is for a 7 1/4" diameter side plate from an undentified place. But most likely a Methodist Episcopal Church. The plate is white, with a green and red pinstripe encircling most of the edge and ending in curliques at a wreath in black and green. Inside the wreath is the modern-styleed fonts reading of the logo of StJMEC in a arrowhead shape. My best guess is St James Methodist Episcopal Church, but the present MEC is today known as the African Methodist Episcopal Church, as there was a racial split in the 1800s. The AMEC is going strong here today, though! The plate was made in 1926(G-3) by OPCo Syracuse China. Usual stilt marks but no chips, cracks or crazing! This and other ... morerestaurantware pieces are coming from my collection and display. There is a lot more information on RW design. Hotels and more available at the Restaurantware Collectors Network. The RWCN, by the way, is made up of volunteers who share their knowledge and have built an impressive resource to find and identify all aspects of RW. If you know something, want to know or identify something, or just simply see what there is out there, stop by and join up. Look at the pics and ask questions. Shipping anywhere in continental U.S. will be $8.00(USPS) Via other means and to other addresses will have to determine actual cost. Overseas got really expensive. I've got more lots up too, so if you want to combine shipping, I can do it to try to save money.

ST. MATTHEW'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH VINTAGE COOKBOOK ASHLAND, OHIO DESSERTS, BREADS
A NICE ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION! Up for auction today is a vintage cookbook entitled“St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church Cookbook. It features recipes by members of this church. Which is located in Ashland, Ohio. It’s soft-cover, spiral-bound and copyrighted 1986. Here’s some information about St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church found inside the cookbook: Although Episcopal services were conducted in Ashland County as early as 1817. It was not until 1957 that an organized Episcopal Church became a reality. In that year, under the leadership of The Rev. Samuel Peard, Rector of Grace Church, Mansfield, an Episcopal Mission was founded in Ashland. Until 1963 the congregation met at the YMCA, after which, having acquired land and constructed a new Church building, they moved to the present location at 1515 Mifflin Avenue. In 1969 the Mission added Church ... moreSchool rooms, offices and a parlor. In the fall of 1985 the church was raised from Mission to full Parish status within the Diocese of Ohio. St. Matthew’s recognizes that ministering to the spiritual needs of its communicants is a church’s primary function. To that end Sunday services are augmented by daily Eucharist(variously known as communion or mass) Adult and student education programs, and prayer groups. Two priests, one full time, the other volunteer, are aided by the efforts of licensed Lay Readers and by the enthusiastic support of numerous lay persons. St. Matthew’s has long recognized its responsibility to the community. The church building is the home of such Community Action Programs as Head Start. Cervical Cancer Detection, Family Planning, Pre-Natal and Well-Baby Clinics and HEAP. Federal food stuffs are distributed from the premises monthly. Each year thousands of people, most of whom are in no way connected with the Episcopal Church, find help through the various social programs operated there. St. Matthew’s has also been known for fun and good food. Fall bazaars have traditionally attracted connoisseurs of such events. And for years the famous peppers

2 Antique Vintage Vermeil Gold over Sterling Silver Episcopal Church Charms Fobs
We are offering two antique or vintage vermeil charms or fobs for the Episcopal Religion or faith. Vermeil is gold over sterling silver and these are marked STERLING on the back. They were made by Hayward Company. The Hayward company has been in business since 1851 and are still in business today manufacturing religious items of sterling silver. Gold, and gold filled jewelry so it is hard to tell just how old these are. They are not new. One measures 1/4" by 1/2" and the other measures 3/8" by 1/2" The metal is in very good used condition with minor signs of wear. I do not see any of the silver showing through the gold. This auction is for both charms. Information borrowed from the internet about these charms: These charms feature the Episcopal Church shield. The large cross that divides the shield is a cross of St. George. ... moreThe cross of the Church of England, and it represents ties with the mother church. There are nine small crosses in the upper left quadrant arranged in a St. Andrew's cross, the cross of the Church of Scotland. When no Anglican bishop would ordain a bishop for the fledgling Protestant Episcopal Church in the USA, bishops of the Church of Scotland agreed to lay hands on Samuel Seabury, ordaining him the first bishop of the ECUSA. This cross honors the part the Church of Scotland played in the birth of the Episcopal church. Each of the nine small crosses that comprises the St. Andrew's cross represents one of the nine dioceses that in 1789 founded the ECUSA. We sell mostly antique and vintage items so a certain amount of wear is expected. We describe all items accurately and we do not accept returns unless the item is grossly miss-represented. Please take the time to look at all of the close-up photographs and email us if you have any questions. We will combine shipping for items purchased as long as the items can be shipped safely together. If you win one item and are planning on bidding on any other items please do not pay for the first item you have won. Wait and wh

1936 BROAD STREET METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH Directory Year Book (Lancaster PA)
BROAD STREET METHODIST CHURCH SILVER JUBILEE DIRECTORY& YEAR BOOK Lancaster. Pennsylvania 1936 MY GRADING SYSTEM I try to be fair and honest in my grading. And make every attempt to mention loose pages. Stains, tears, binding damage, etc. Sometimes I find that an item falls between two grades. In which case I will list it with a two-grade scale. NEAR MINT- MINT: I rarely use these grades. Except when an item is in truly exceptional condition. VERY FINE: very nice with virtually no major defects. FINE+: an even nicer copy. With minimal obvious defects. FINE: a nice copy. Flat with minor creases; may have some spine stress, but no prominent defects. FINE- better than VG+ but just a bit short of what I would consider Fine. VERY GOOD+: most of the items I list fall into this grade; a typical read item with obvious defects as noted. VERY GOOD: ... morefairly well-read with an accumulation of tears and defects as noted; may be heavily creased or spine-rolled. GOOD: a complete but heavily-read item; may be missing pieces of covers, loose covers. Rolled spine or other noted damage. FAIR: a rough item. With many defects including tears, missing pieces. Water damage, spine wear, etc. POOR: no missing pages unless noted. But otherwise a pretty trashed item; almost any and every damage may be present. On Sep-25-12 at 13:41:41 PDT.
