Venice Royal Semiporcelain Plate- Woods and Son. Measures approximately 9" in diameter. In good condition. Most of the front gold band has worn off. There are some blue markings on the front of the plate from when it was made I assume and I believe it has one flea bite size chip on the rim. It does have utensil marks on it. The back imprint is either worn or not imprinted correctly. Had the number 10 and 61D on it. Again the back has blue pin size marks on it. Please review all pictures before making your decision. Vintage Souvenir Building Giovanni Moro San Marco Campanile Bell Tower Venice 8"
Miniature Souvenir Building Replica. The late Giovannie Moro recreated the entire city of Venice. Venezia, Italy in superbly detailed high quality miniatures that range in size from inches to feet. Since his passing last year, his website has closed and production has ceased. This is his miniature of one of the two or three most iconic buildings and structures in Venice, Italy. This hand painted resin replica of the Campanile or Bell Tower in the Piazza San Marco measures 8 inches tall. Base is 2.25 by 1.5 inches. It is amazingly complete, including the tiny statue of St. Mark at the tip. Hand signed by Moro under the base. Well bound, gently loved. The pages have a wonderful texture and the font is incredible. The numbers show an array of sizes throughout the book and there is a great typo- page 221 is incorrect, it shows 121. The"3's" look like"5's" There are a total of 272 pages. The last page reads: Stampato Per cura di Guiseppe Battaggia CONDITION: It is in very good condition for its age. There are no missing or torn pages. There is the light discoloration on the pages. Some have more than others. Cover: The leather spine is solid. On either side there are lights signs of wear along both sides of the spine. The gold artwork and lettering is in ... moregreat condition. The front cover shows wear especially on the bottom right corner. Some minor scuffing and the edges are a bit frayed. The back: 1) the upper left corner has worn with some of the marbled artwork is missing; 2) the bottom right corner has a tiny bit of wear along the edges. Interior: As mentioned. There is staining. Some pages have more than others. On the interior second page someone has written in pencil"T" it does not go through to the other side. Item is in good used condition considering it's age and does have some light wear to the silverplate in two spots, one is three small marks on the back under the base of the tines, the other is a small spot on the back of the handle tip where it rests on the table. Beautiful embellished pattern! We feel it's important to polish our silver before selling it so you can see these defects, they aren't always apparent when the item is tarnished. Very detailed map showing the various islands making up this area as well as Tashmoo& other parks, Sans Souci, Squirrel Island, Dickinson Island, and on an inset map the area from Detroit to Port Huron that includes The Flats. The areas for bird aeries& rookeries, specific fishing& duck hunting areas are shown. This is a beloved area to many but have not heard it called"venice of America" until now. 1602 Bertius Map of Venice, Italy
1602 Bertius Map- Patavinum Petrus Bertius was a professor of mathematics and librarian at Leyden University in Holland but is known for his miniature world atlas'Tabularum geographicarum contractarum' which contained two different sets of maps. This map comes from the 1602 French edition published as'Thresor des Cartes' This attractive map of the Italian region of Padua and Venice was engraved by Pieter van den Keere and shows the quality of his work. Venice stands out in the lagoon as does Chioza to the south. The complex system of rivers south and east of Padua is not accurate to modern eyes however. The map has a box title and a scale of distance in the top left. The map measures 5" by 3.5" Has later outline hand colouring, and is in good condition.
