Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope from 1909. Original Case. In Good Condition and Working Order Smart German microscope from 1901. Perfectly preserved and ... morein good working order. This microscope was made by Ersnt Leitz Wetzlar company, which was founded by K. Kellner in Wetzlar in 1849. The name of the company comes from engineer E. Leitz, who was hired to work in the firm and afterwards became its owner. It is a remarkable fact that Leitz has been always a reference in the field of optical material; its Canadian factory was renowned by their famous Leica cameras. This microscope comes in its original solid wood case and keeps all its accessories. Eyepieces and lenses in good condition. The microscope is made of brass with parts painted black. The brass keeps the original varnish, meant to protect the metal from rusting. This is why the brass is so polished and shiny, free from pitting. The lenses are in very good condition and provide a clear and neat view. In the central cylinder we can see the inscription Enrst Leitz Wetzlar and London, with the serial number: 122054. The name of the company is also engraved in the lenses. The microscope preserves all its original components: lenses, eyepieces, mirrors and the clips attached to the stage. The case which houses the microscope is made of solid beech wood. Inside there is a wooden stand designed to hold the eyepieces. We can also see two wooden boxes with sliding covers which contain material designed to clean the lenses and prepare the samples. The case has dovetail joints. As beautiful as strong, and keeps the original lock and keyhole. The metal handle at the top, designed to carry the microscope, is also original. In the upper edge of the box we can see the serial number, carved on the wood; this number also appears in a label fixed to the inside of the door. This label shows some technical data with information about the microscope, the objectives and the eyepieces under the name of Magnification Table. The inscriptions are beautifully hand-written, turning thi

Here is an old cast iron microscope. I believe it is cast iron. What is shown in photos is all that comes with it. I do not see a name on it so I don't ... moreknow who made it. My apologies. Please let photos be your guide. I can tell you there are 2 tools of some sort, small top glass slides and the base glass sides. The box is wood, it does latch and it is the dovetail corners. Questions welcomed. I do combine shipping.

For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

This is an old Leitz Wetzlar brass embellished microscope. No 272910 In fairly good condition overall. Missing one objective lens(it has the 44x and the ... more10x) Missing the mechanical stage slide holder. But still has the dovetail gear on the side Needs a cleaning- and has some chipping in the black paint over the iron armature- the usual wear. Ocular lens is 10x. Brass is good- scratches seem to only be in the lacquer covering the brass. Needs to be polished- brass is more yellow than is showing in the pictures. Overall it functions properly and there is no mechanical issues. Tube. Condenser and fine focus all seem to be working fine and smoothly. Look at pics- email questions. Ships only in the USA. Unless you really want to pay the extra shipping overseas- it is heavy and would cost a lot more to ship.

DESCRIPTION UPDATED- NOW MORE TITLES! UPDATED ~ NOW MORE TITLES! About 1590. Two Dutch spectacle makers, Zaccharias Janssen and his son Hans, while experimenting with several lenses in a tube, discovered that nearby objects appeared greatly enlarged. That was the forerunner of the compound microscope and of the telescope. In 1609, Galileo, father of modern physics and astronomy, heard of these early experiments, worked out the principles of lenses, and made a much better instrument with a focusing device. Please read ALL of the text and view the pictures carefully. We will gladly answer any questions as best we can. Please ask questions before you bid or buy. Please scroll to the bottom of the pictures and read the terms under our last picture. I am far from an expert on these but will do my best to describe it for you. Questions encouraged.I do not see any cracked lenses and the mirror is not cracked on either side. All lenses are clear but one has a hair or something inside of it which I think you can see in the pictures. All of the knobs work smoothly. The paint is worn where you would place the slide and it looks rusty but it may be the base coat of paint as the finish is nice and smooth. It comes with the extra lenses as shown. I have taken close ups of any numbers or markings I could find. The numbers on the top of the microscope which ... moreI assume are the serial numbers are 241681. The black paint is scuffed on the bottom of the back of the base and it could use some polishing/cleaning in my opinion. The wooden finger jointed case is in nice shape with just a scuff on the one side and the original nickel handle remains on the top. The door has a lock but I do not have the key. Vintage SPI Microscope& Wood Case/Cabinet& All Contents! Very Unique! All the items going up for auction came from Estate Sales. Yard Sales, or Auctions. Most. I do not know their history, but will share my impressions with you when it seems appropriate. All must be assumed used, and not p erfect. Some might could use a cleaning. Or adjustments, but I will leave that part for you. For your consideration is this very neat vintage SPI Microscope Model 1835 encased in its own seven drawer wood cabinet. Starting with the cabinet. Made with finger joints, steel carrying handle, a microscope compartment, and seven drawers. The cabinet is well made and surprisingly clean for its age. Contents; About 20 Glass Slides, 6 Prepared Slides(Japan) 2 Spare Bulbs, Glass Eyedropper, Sealed Case of Slide Holders, additional slide attachment, 10x Lens, ... more20x Lens, Knife, Tweezers, Paddle Instrument, Needle Instrument, 110V Power Supply, Three Wax Sealed Prepared Liquids(Japan) I know nothing about them, but it appears to be a real nice microscope. All seem quite exceptional to me with the following exceptions. One of the prepared liquids has hardened, the power supply jack seems a bit of a loose fit, the shape of the battery holders seems a bit odd and I did not have matching batteries on hand to test the light. M easures about 15" Wide x 10.75" High x 8" Deep. S hipping includes Delivery Confirmation. Please look the pictures over carefully. As what is acceptable for me, may not work for you. When it comes down to it, the photos are the best and final description. Should you like more, just email me. My goal is for you to be happy with this item. I do combine multiple purchases whenever I can to help you save on the shipping. All winning bids are to be paid within five days unless other arrangements have been made with me prior to the end of the auction. WOW! So beautiful! Stage is made of bronze.Iris below stage works great. Serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1901.Makes an excellent gift for the medical professional or student.
You are bidding on one lot of one old microscope by Leitz Wetzlar. This has a serial number of 110262 probably dating it to the early 1900s. I do not know much about microscopes personally. But everything seems to move smoothly, including the focus and fine focus, The turret, and the mirror assembly. It tilts back fine as well. There is a lens up top marked 3. And then another lens top without the barrel marked 4. It has a three lens turret but only two are in use. One is a Leitz Wetzlar 3 and the other is a Spencer 4MM 44X. There is an extra Bausch& Lomb 16MM 10X lens but it does not fit. There is a double sided mirror, the looks in good condition, and another assembly with an aperture that swings back and forth under the slide table. There is also another aperture under the slide table that opens and closes with a lever. Has a heavy ... morecast iron base and looks like brass knobs and a brass finish to the main barrel. This item seems well used and has its fair share of scuffs and scratches. Along with finish wear in a number of places. Also comes with a custom E. Leitz Wetzlar wooden case. It has a lock but no key. It is in very good sturdy condition but has scuffs and scratches from use. Overall a neat old microscope that needs a detailed cleaning and maybe a bit or restoration to look its best. Please email me with any questions prior to bidding. The accompanying photo is of the actual lot you are bidding on. I accept PayPal only at this time. Goods usually shipped the next postal day after payment received(except Saturdays. Mondays, and the day after a postal holiday) Shipping and handling charge is $22.50 in continental USA. Certain shipments to AK, HI, PR and other USA postal areas may be more depending on the weight and dimensions of the shipment. Please ask for quote from these areas. International bidders: I do not ship internationally any longer. Smoke/Pets: Items I sell are from typically from estates or other third parties. I have no knowledge as to whether the items for sale have or have not been expo

There is one lens that is marked Germany. Another attachment or piece is marked Microscope Adapter T2. The other two appear to be metal attachments and are unmarked. The one appears to be the same paint and finish as another piece I harp e listed but I could not match them up anywhere. Very ice pieces but appear to be parts to other items. The Germany marked piece is a very nice looking lens.

This vintage Tasco 30x geological microscope is in great shape with the original solid oak box with JAPAN stamped on the inside lower edge. The 3 drawers have the original bakelite pulls. But the box has a crack down the back and all the paper with the minerals, origin, and basic uses is all there but the paper with the 13-24 minerals is missing half of it(19-24) The 36 minerals listed are all there and almost all of them have their numbers to identify them to the list but, 2, 4, 6, 15, and 16 are missing their labels but we still have the minerals. The Tasco Stereo microscope works great but the left eye piece moves more freely, the microscope has Japan painted on the back. It has a very unusual sleeve that slides over the entire microscope to prevent the delicate optics and the back has a handle. Made by the Bausch& Lomb Optical Company and it’s number 1601. It measures about 10¾" tall and is guaranteed old. Nice piece! The light reflecting mirror at the bottom has some corrosion and wear.
