Also included is a set of accessories that include a set of two(2) objectives with brass canisters. A stage forceps, a pair of forceps, and a set of seven(7) antique prepared slides. This instrument is unsigned and does not have a serial number. The instrument features a dual trunnion plate support for the stage and the rest of the instrument along with the classic bar limb design that was pioneered in England by Andrew Ross. The microscope most likely dates from circa 1870 or later. For the antique microscope collector this pattern microscope represents one of several significant advances in the design of the compound monocular microscope pioneered by a variety of English microscope manufacturers based in London and its environs during the latter half of the 19th Century. As such. It will be a most welcome addition to any antique microscope collection. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: This microscope comes mounted on a 5 3/8 inch by 7 inch Mahogany wood plinth that helps to accommodate the microscope very nicely into the Mahogany wood case that houses the instrument. Antique Spencer Microscope Circa 1923 with APO/APOCHROMATIC Objectives
Spencer Binocular microscope Circa 1923(Serial Number 81986) microscope in excellent condition- a collectors piece. This one was truly a cadillac in its day. Has optional monocular tube with ocular. Additional pair of ocular lenses. It has the three objectives, pictured separately each with its own original machined brass storage tube. I am told by a fellow E-bayer that the APO and/or APOCHROMATIC objectives on this scope are far superior to standard achromatic objectives and represent the top of the line. This E-bayer was also kind enough to share a note that this scope is similar to the No. 4 research model listed at the Harvard science museum(Ebay won't let me include the link- sorry) however. Antique early 20th Century C. Reichert Wein medical microscope. Reichert started their company in Vienna in 1876. My research tells me this is pre 1920. However I am no expert. The microscope has a serial number and the original oak dove tailed box has the same matching number as well. The back of the box is missing but would be a simple fix. The overall condition is very nice and appears to have all its parts as shown in the photos. All working parts are functional. It is a very unique and rare piece of medical history and displays very well. Easily could be cleaned and polished and it would look like new. It is in great condition, with the brass pieces still preserving the transparent lacquer that protects the metal and the iron keeping almost all its black-enameled finish. The microscope comes in its original mahogany case with brass handle and hinges that also keeps the lock and key in perfect condition. The instrument comes with an impressive set of well-preserved original accessories that can still be used with it just like when they were originally made. The set includes a magnifying glass with stand. A spare circular sample plate, seven original lenses in their brass cases and eight eyepieces. The eyepieces bear different inscriptions ... morein the metal; one of them reads REICHERT WEIN. These words correspond to Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Reichert, founder of a prestigious manufacture of microscopes in Vienna. The rest of the eyepieces bear inscriptions about their features, magnification and the oil immersion treatment they have been subjected to in order to increase the microscope’s resolution. At the microscope’s foot we can see the inscription J: SWIFT& SON– LONDON engraved in the black-enameled metal and enhanced with white paint. This inscription is related to James Powell Swiff. Who founded a microscope business in London in 1853. In 1877 he started using the market name J. Swift& Son. As stated before. The microscope and the accessories come into a beautiful solid mahogany case in great condition that preserves the original key. This key is engraved with an address: 130 QUEEN VICTORIA– LONDON. Vintage Bausch& Lomb Antique Brass Microscope Circa 1899 The pictures do not do justice to the way this instrument gleams! All the movements move freely with no binding or sticky spots. The Irises on the condenser move freely as well. The bottom iris looks like it is missing a couple of the leaves, there is what appears to be one of them that was in the drawer of the case. It is shown in one of the pictures. The Case is in good shape. But it is showing it's age, the cabinet does lock and includes a key. I have added a shipping charge to this due to the extra care that is needed to package this securely to ensure it will arrive safely also to cover the extra charges due to it's weight.

Schutz A. G. Cassel Brass Microscope Made In Germany
For auction is a rare antique German compound microscope by Schutz. This is a very interesting piece that appears to be made from brass and iron(steel) it is labeled Schutz A.G. Cassel 19595 D.R.G.M. i have read that the acronym stands for"Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster" or"German Reich Registered Design" in English. This piece is pre WWII and most likely from the first quarter of the 20th century. It is very well designed and made to a high degree or quality like the Zeiss and leitz microscopes of the period. It stands around 11" tall and is quite heavy for its size. The overall condition is good for its age(1912) it dose need to be polished but iam not willing to do that winning bidder may want this in its original condition.Some pieces may be missing i do not know what originally came with this set but everything ... moremoves as it should.Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. This working microscope has three objective lenses: a Spencer 10X. A Carl Zeis Jena 40X, and an Ernst Leitz Wetzlar oil immersion 120X. The ocular lens is 5X(manufacturer unknown) The unit does have some minor problems, but a microscope buff who is conversant with 100-year-old microscopes will enjoy working with this fine optical instrument. While the exact date of manufacture is not known, it is likely that this instrument was used extensively in the early part of the previous century. The unit weighs about 10 pounds. It is up to 16 inches tall.
