Antique Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Solid Brass Microscope SN#26739 ~ Pat. 8-1897 Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass ... moreMicroscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. If you would like more pictures please let me know I will ship this scope FREE in the Continental United States PayPal only please If you have any questions please ask I strive for 100% approval so if you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback I will do returns in special situations Thanks for checking out my items. For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Auction Wizard 2000 Listing Template- AW2KLOT#5986 WELCOME TO MY AUCTIONS Antique Carl Reichert Wien Brass Scientific Microscope 18298 w/ cover Up for sale is a very nice antique C. Reichert Wien/ Carl Reichert Wien Scientific Microscope. Carl Reichert married into the Leitz family in 1874 and began manufacturing in Vienna(Austria) two years later. This. 1948 Big E. Leitz Wetlzar Binocular + Monocular Microscope. In Perfect Condition
German Binocular- Monocular Microscope Made by E. Leitz Wetlzar in 1948. In Perfect Condition Great German microscope made by E. Leitz Wetzlar in the middle of the 20th century(1948) In perfect condition and working order. This scientific instrument is quite peculiar as it can be used in two ways, monocular and binocular. Both options can be chosen just changing the eyepiece. The item comes in its original mahogany wood case and keeps all its accessories: eyepieces, objectives and wooden stands designed to store all the pieces in good order. E. Leitz Wetlzar is a classical and prestigious firm in the field of optical devices. The company started in 1849 when Karl Kellner founded the Optical Institute in Wetzlar. Germany. In the beginning the original emphasis was on telescopes, but soon microscopes started to be the main product. In 1865 ... moreKellner hired a very capable engineer, Ernst Leitz, who soon became a partner and in only four years took over the company and renamed it Optical Institute of Ernst Leitz, Wetlzar. The firm has been a leader in the field on optical instruments and components for decades, and among other designs it was the producer of famous Leica photographic cameras. This microscope is made of black-lacquered iron. In very good conditions. The objectives, eyepieces and mobile parts are made of silvery metal. All the components are well preserved and work fluidly, letting the user view the samples correctly. The mahogany case boasts nice dovetail joints, delicate and solid. Inside the door, two metal plates hold the instruction leaflet and a foil with information about the microscope: serial number(381717) magnification data and manufacturing date(November 16th, 1948) This microscope’s good condition and particular design. Together with its excellent working order, turn it into a classical piece worthy of the best collection of scientific instruments from the 20th century. Measurements: Width: 130 mm. Height: 380 mm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'l

Antique Henry Crouch Microscope 4168 London James W Queen & Co Philadelphia
Antique Henry Crouch Microscope Model 4168 London James W Queen& Co Philadelphia Brass and Metal Here is an old microscope for your consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. This piece is probably from the 1860s to late 1880s. The microscope was made by Henry Crouch of London and then distributed in the US by James W. Queen& Co. of Philadelphia. PA. The screw to adjust the focus still works and moves freely. The brass and metal certainly show wear and corrosion. However. No major pitting, dings, or dents, so perfect for those of you out there that restore them to their former glory. The tabs to hold the glass slide are still on it. Mirror in the bottom piece is there, but has some damage to the bottom side, not cracked but what happens to mirrors when they lose their back plating over time. Appears you can see a ring of ... morethe bras piece the mirror sets in. Obviously the scope has become detached from the base. Appears that it was probably some sort of solder or glue connection. So no major issue to correct there. The glass is still in both ends of the scope and I see no blistering or cracking of the lenses. Certainly are scratched. The scope body extends freely as well and can be seen in both positions in the pics. The case is certainly not an original case for this piece. Just something someone put it in to protect it at some point. It is 12.5" long, by 7.25" tall, by 6.25" wide. Some information on James W. Cropuch from the Antique Artifacts site(different font) Queen. Born in 1813, began working for the McAllister Brothers, in Philadelphia, as a boy, around 1825. From 1836 to 1852 he was a partner in the McAllister business, leaving finally to start his own company to sell optical instruments. While Queen& Co. sold a great variety of microscopes by other makers, their catalogs and other literature emphatically suggested that they also made microscopes. I have a Queen's"Large Family Microscope" unsigned, but unmistakably illustrated in their catalog of the early

1880's Important Large English Brass Microscope 1880. Original Case
Important English Brass Microscope Made in 1880. Complete. In Working Order and in Original Case Big English brass microscope made in England in the late 19th century(year 1880) This beautiful antique instrument is in perfect condition and has been carefully restored. It is a very remarkable piece because of its fine design. And is complete and preserves all its original components. The microscope comes in its original wooden case and is accompanied by some spare pieces and samples on glass plates, prepared just when the microscope was first used. In essence, this wonderful vintage microscope and the pieces that come with it make up a highly interesting item. The microscope looks shiny. Neat and polished thanks to the careful restoration it has undergone. As well as the typical parts that usually conform these instruments, this one has also ... morea micrometrical adjustment system to move the samples: by turning the wheel to the right of the user he or she can move the samples from left to right, forwards and backwards so it does not have to be touched with the fingers. Like the rest of the microscope, this system is greatly preserved and works like new. The eyepieces. Objectives and the mirror located under the sample plate are original and have survived to our days in perfect conditions. The box designed to store the microscope is made of solid mahogany wood; it has been conveniently restored and boasts a beautiful satin finish, but the signs of the use and the trace of time have been preserved as a testimony of the instrument’s life and history. The upper brass handle is also the original one. Inside the box we can see a small wooden drawer designed to store some labeled glass plates with handwritten inscriptions in different colors. There are also some brass spare pieces. This striking vintage microscope is a museum piece because of its beauty and big size. Joining beauty in equal measure. Measurements: Width: 180 mm. Height: 470 mm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be gl

Antique naturalists' brass compass microscope
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is a naturalists' compass microscope in the style of the mid-18 th century. Description: Shaped like a true compass. The body, object forceps and lens holder are made of brass but the lens is equipped with silver Lieberkühn(now having black patina but it can be easily cleaned) Focusing is done by moving the object arm. Which has an inner joint in the middle to enable parallel viewing of the examined object. The lens is clear and the magnification is quite impressive. Dating and origin: Although acquired in London. It is almost undoubtedly not English by origin. Compass microscopes in the true sense of having compass-like joints and arms, were apparently more common in present-day Germany. Stylistically, it can be ... moreloosely dated to the mid-18 th century. Like most of the instruments of this era. It is unsigned and one really can't tell more about it. Yet a general parallel can be seen in the last figure(not included in this listing but brought only for demonstration) is taken from the sales catalogue of scientific instruments by Joachim Friedrich Meyen of Leipzig(1747) entitled: Kurzer Unterricht von der Beschaffenheit und dem Gebrauch der Vergrösserungsgläser und Teleskopien. It depicts a rather similar compass microscope. Yet I really can't tell if this is an instrument of the same era or maker. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment by express mailing service(EMS) Fully insured and with tracking number.
