This antique brass binocular microscope was manufactured by Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. It was made before 1930 and is an original piece. While it is incomplete, ... moreit is still a valuable addition to any collection. There are small pieces missing as well as the base. One could add a weighted wood base and mount the microscope for display. The microscope as it sits is just under 5 pounds! The microscope falls under the category of antiques and scientific instruments, specifically microscopes and lab equipment. It does not have a California Prop 65 Warning.

Also included is a set of accessories that include a set of two(2) objectives with brass canisters. A stage forceps, a pair of forceps, and a set of seven(7) antique prepared slides. This instrument is unsigned and does not have a serial number. The instrument features a dual trunnion plate support for the stage and the rest of the instrument along with the classic bar limb design that was pioneered in England by Andrew Ross. The microscope most likely dates from circa 1870 or later. For the antique microscope collector – this pattern microscope represents one of several significant advances in the design of the compound monocular microscope pioneered by a variety of English microscope manufacturers based in London and its environs during the latter half of the 19th Century. As such. It will be a most welcome addition to any antique microscope collection. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: This microscope comes mounted on a 5 3/8 inch by 7 inch Mahogany wood plinth that helps to accommodate the microscope very nicely into the Mahogany wood case that houses the instrument. Antique Bausch & Lomb Microscope Serial Number 373722 NR
OK. I am waaaaaayyyy outside my comfort zone with this microscope. I found it at an antique shop in upstate New York, and thought it was very cool. I have tried to show it from different angles, because I really don't know how to describe it. The microscope was made by the Bausch& Lomb optical company. The microscope is 12 1/2" tall. Antique Children's Microscope, Circa 1884
This is an antique late 1800s child's microscope. It has a nice wooden box an original antique slide(child size. Broken off on the end, but still has subject matter intact) and a pair of brass tweezers. Its made to look like a rack and pinion scope, but its fixed focus, but a functional toy. There is only one knob, but I think it may be the way it was made- don't know. There is a name signed inside"John G.something, clearly written but hard to make out the last name- who knows maybe someone famous, under that its says"Christmas 1884" I understand this came from an estate in KC Missouri. There are no makers markings that I could find so far, but there is a very curious serial number? XIIII" on the foot of the scope. The box is roughly 6 X 4 inches. I was told it was rare when I purchased it.

Very Old Primitive Antique Light Microscope - Unsigned Brass and Copper
Up for sale is this unusual Antique Light Microscope. I can describe it. But do not know anything of the history. It is mostly brass, but the center section appears to be copper. It is unsigned, with just the number"11" and a star imprinted in the metal on the underside of the stage. The base also appears to be bronze, instead of cast iron. I've looked at quite a few antique microscopes online and cannot find one like this one. All the parts seem to move as they are intended. The eyepiece moves up and down and there the lens seem to be intact. The whole upper section tilts on the base. The mirror swivels and moves forward and backward. But the mirror is black in places where the silver came off, as happens with old mirrors. The stage clip is in one piece and slides up and down the arm. There is a wheel beneath the stage with ... morevarious sized holes to control the amount of light coming through. The eyepiece moves up and down along a track. And it moves by adjusting a wheel. Both the track and the part that holds the wheel to the track, appear to have been screwed in with tiny screws at one point. They those pieces were welded. The welds look about the same age as the rest of it. It also has a chip in the front of the stage. Please look closely at the photos provided and email with any questions. It is about +/ 10 inches high. I ship internationally on a limited basis(Canada. UK, Australia, etc) just email me for shipping costs.

This is a very cool World War I era antique/vintage Bausch& Lomb microscope acquired from the University of Colorado. Boulder. Ocular, lenses, and body are label'Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. JOHN W. SIDLE #194 ACME - Antique BINOCULAR Microscope – 1880’s – Brass & Copper
ANTIQUE BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE* Engraved Signature on the Brass Base: John W. Sidle. Lancaster. Pa. ACME Wm Stanley Jr#194 Objective Reads: E. Gundlach* Estimated Early 1880’s* Stands about 15 to 17 inches high. Depending on the position of the scope* Please read the description in full. Review all photos and ask all questions prior to bidding. Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Which I estimate as being from about 1880(130+ years old) so there is some wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. According to this extract from the American Artifacts Website: Sidle began making microscopes. First in partnership with Poalk, in Philadelphia, and then as"John W. Sidle& Co, Lancaster PA" His several models of 1880 were called the"Acme" ... moreand some of his ads referred to the"Acme Optical Works" Lancaster, PA. In 1881, James W. Queen& Co. took over the marketing of Sidle's Acme microscopes, which they continued to sell into the 20th century. I am very pleased to offer this attractive antique binocular microscope. A fantastic presentation piece. This appears to be the Binocular(Double Tube/ Scope) version of the ACME No. 3 Microscope produced by Sidle in the early 1880’s(see last photo) As might be expected. This is not in perfect, 100 percent complete condition, but still a great, very attractive piece of scientific history. I have tried my best to thoroughly identify any issues/ notes based on a comparison of the monocular version found online and my visual review. I am passionate about antique microscopes and enjoy hanging onto them briefly as a hobby/ admirer. But I am not able to yet call myself an expert so, again, please review as well and do not hesitate to ask questions: 1. No box or other accessories included beyond shown in the photos. 2. Beautiful combination of what look to be brass(majority) and copper(accents– knobs. Joint, swinging mirror gauge, objective cuffi

The cedern container is seized close and feels heavy, There may be a objective inside. There are two boxes full of glass slides, cleaning cloth and an empty eye dropper. It all comes inside original wooden box that is pretty beat up but still intact. The old key and lock still function. The box has a storage compartment ... morew/ lid and two racks to hold eyepieces and containers. Inside on door is original microscope documentation and pamphlets. It is missing a clip that holds slide in place. There is some corrosion on the shinny brass in several parts, this is surface damage that affects color of brass. All the metal is solid, lenses move freely and focus mechanisms work correctly. These have been used and have some scuffs and scratches but no major damage. They would be nice for lab use, collector or good for decoration in your den or lab. Vintage Bausch & Lomb Antique Brass Microscope Circa 1899 Better Pictures!!
Vintage Bausch& Lomb Antique Brass Microscope Circa 1899 The pictures do not do justice to the way this instrument gleams! All the movements move freely with no binding or sticky spots. The Irises on the condenser move freely as well. The bottom iris looks like it is missing a couple of the leaves, there is what appears to be one of them that was in the drawer of the case. It is shown in one of the pictures. The Case is in good shape. But it is showing it's age, the cabinet does lock and includes a key. I have added a shipping charge to this due to the extra care that is needed to package this securely to ensure it will arrive safely also to cover the extra charges due to it's weight.

We are not experts in these devices but it all appears to be in working order with no damaged parts. The estate we obtained it from said it was 100% Complete. We are unsure. Hopefully the pictures will suffice. This piece needs a cleaning and polish. There is normal paint scratches which are all age appropriate. The box measures 13 1/2" tall. The microscope stands 11 3/4" tall. Posted with
