Vintage/Antique Early 1900s Leitz Wetzlar Microscope w/Wooden Case
You are bidding on one lot of one old microscope by Leitz Wetzlar. This has a serial number of 110262 probably dating it to the early 1900s. I do not know much about microscopes personally. But everything seems to move smoothly, including the focus and fine focus, The turret, and the mirror assembly. It tilts back fine as well. There is a lens up top marked 3. And then another lens top without the barrel marked 4. It has a three lens turret but only two are in use. One is a Leitz Wetzlar 3 and the other is a Spencer 4MM 44X. There is an extra Bausch& Lomb 16MM 10X lens but it does not fit. There is a double sided mirror, the looks in good condition, and another assembly with an aperture that swings back and forth under the slide table. There is also another aperture under the slide table that opens and closes with a lever. Has a heavy ... morecast iron base and looks like brass knobs and a brass finish to the main barrel. This item seems well used and has its fair share of scuffs and scratches. Along with finish wear in a number of places. Also comes with a custom E. Leitz Wetzlar wooden case. It has a lock but no key. It is in very good sturdy condition but has scuffs and scratches from use. Incurved at the back, has a 4 inch square glass plate that slides into grooves. It has a handle- type limb 4" long. The limb is removable from the base via a twist-off connection The binocular tubes are adjustable and have a rack and pinion course adjustment. Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass Microscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. We do have a letter that was written to Bausch& Lomb to find out more information about the microscope. They ... moresent a reply which stated that they do not know to whom it was sold to, but it is circa 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. The black box contains 50“Microscopical Preparations” slides, including diatoms of various things like“The Tongue of a Snail, or"The Abdomen of a Bee. The best I’ve been able to determine, these slides became popular in the mid-1800s, and had something of a heyday in the 1880s or so. The case is in very good condition. Though i t has some scuffs- included in photos. The two front hook latches close into a circular catch. It says“Microscopical Preparations” and Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany with the Wetzlar logo. It also says Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany on the right side of all the slides. Some of the slides have a black circle encasing the specimen and others have a ... moreraised top over the specimen. Hensoldt is a German microscope maker. I have seen some slides online with“M. Hensoldt” on it. With the same sort of paper, dated to about 1880 or so. These slides without the“M. for Moritz, the founder) may be a little later, though they use the same paper and style, so my guess is that they are of that same era. One of the few mentions I found during my research of the Hensoldt slides indicated that a famous British slide-preparer had actually purchased his slides from M. Hensoldt. Took the Hensoldt papers off of them, and then put his own name on them to sell mostly because of the maker's products superior quality. I say 50 slides– but there is actually one of them that appears to be a blank without a specimen on it. None of them appear to be cracked or chipped. Vintage scientific microscope lenses and attachments
There are four pieces. They were in a box with the paper that has Edmund Scientific on it. I can't tell if allow any of these pieces are Edmund? You are buying as is. There is one lens that is marked Germany. Another attachment or piece is marked Microscope Adapter T2. The other two appear to be metal attachments and are unmarked. The one appears to be the same paint and finish as another piece I harp e listed but I could not match them up anywhere. Very ice pieces but appear to be parts to other items. The Germany marked piece is a very nice looking lens.

Rare Antique Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Microscope Piece*
Not exactly sure what this is. It was in a box of many items purchased at an estate sale. I have other fine scientific pieces listed from the same sale. This may just be a piece of a microscope. It has a lens so that is good the lens when you look thru it has a measurement chart that runs from 0 to 6 and has increments of 10 from number to number. This is a fantastic piece found at an estate sale where the resident was a University Professor and Scientist. The microscope has the booklet but was not in a box rather was set up as display in his Study. It was his prize piece. I am not sure of the age but the Use and Care of the Microscope booklet was was copyright 1912. It is very nice. It was well used as seen in the photos and is sold as found. It s accompanied by the Care and Use booklet. A lens container and a box with a slide in it. I believe this to be quite old. It does have a serial number of 25408 is what I make out. All of the mechanics seem to airlock fine and it has the attach oh meet below the slide table. It has wonderful worn patina. All the adjusting tools work and it has a dual head lens keeper on it. Completely relaxed it measures about 13 inches in overall height and ... morethe lens chamber has about 3" of height up and down adjustment. This is a cool high quality piece. A must have for any collector!

Furnace or Drum Microscope- 3 inches tall- 1839 ca. This small Furnace type microscope is 74mm(3 inches) circa tall and retains about the 85% of the original lacquer finish with very small dark oxide spots. The lenses are clean and the mirror has all the original silver finish. Little faded on the perimeter, but in good working order. Built-in microscope slide blocking system on the body. The lot includes a small paper covered microscope slide with an insect part(Aiguilla. The instrument is stored inside its original mahogany case that is well preserved an measures 87mm X 50mm X 36mm circa. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. Yet several features clearly assign it to France. This microscope features a variation on the theme of the"Ellis aquatic microscope" It collapses into the 15 x 9.3 x 5 cm mahogany case. Internally lined with red velvet. When mounted, the body tube is 9.5 cm long rising altogether(with the case) to 14.5 cm. Both the microscope and the parallel sample holder stem screw into two brass sockets at the top of the case. The microscope stage is sliding along the column for focusing. Below it. A 2.8 cm diameter single sided mirror is mounted on a typically French 8 shaped bracket screwed to the column(see the discussion here regarding this style) The original accessories include three lenses with different magnifications. This is estate sale found and I'm selling'as is' since I don't know if this is missing anything. I also can find NO mfgr. name but looks like Ernst Leitz Wetzlar in style. Bottom piece screws off and top piece slides up and down in the cylinder. There is a glass at both ends with no cracks or chips. Turning knob turns and cylinder goes up and down. Piece is dirty as it was in a box of junk items for decades. Weighs just under one pound. Makes a good prop if nothing else.
