I examined the objective lens with a jewelers loupe and I could not see any scratches. Any fungus, or any chips. Vintage 1919 Bausch & Lomb Jug Handle 2 Objective Lens Microscope Serial #139747
Up for auction is Vintage 1919 Bausch& Lomb Jug Handle 2 Objective Lens Microscope Serial#139747. The date was determined by the serial number and corresponding manufacture date from Bausch& Lomb website. It was made in Rochester. NY. There are two objective lenses– 4mm and 16mm. There is a coarse and fine focus. All parts turn smoothly including the diaphragm. Mirror, fine focus and objective lenses which click into position like the day it was built. The microscope has not been tested or fine tuned and nothing appears broken. Condition Issues: Concave mirror is in good condition with two little spots. Flat mirror has about 40% of the mirror spotted. Cast iron base shows corrosion and most of the black paint has flaked off. Stage clips are taught but can move freely and show slight corrosion. Diaphragm opens and closes freely. Fine ... moreand coarse focus move freely. Objective lenses move freely. Body shows black enamel wear above‘Bausch& Lomb Optics’ where a tag was stuck by a technician back in 1941 who reconditioned the unit– I’ll include this if it matters to anyone– not shown in images. Antique Vintage Microscope Objective Brass Case - 1
You are bidding on an original microscope objective brass case. Sometimes called a can. From the photos you will see it is unmarked as to maker. It bears the numeral"1" on the top. This will make a wonderful conversation piece or an addition to a collection. The craftsmanship is from a bygone era. Seldom to be found in today's throwaway world. It has a finely threaded screw-on top which screws on and off perfectly. It measures 23.5 mm in diameter and 56.4mm in height. I am reducing my collection and selling other microscope objective containers and an additional objective. Feel free to look at my other listings. I am not an optics or microscope expert.
