Antique Bousch and Lomb Microscope, E. Leitz Wetzlar
This is a Bausch and Lomb microscope made in the late 1880's to early 1900's. It looks like it was painted black over solid brass. Serial number is 29920. It only has 2 lenses. Movement is free and easy. The wooden box says E. Leitz Wetzlar. New-York=Chicago. The number 99893 is stamped on the top of the box door. The base stampings are: 29920 Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. New York. Rochester N. Y. Chicago A. S. Aloe Co. St Louis Mo. It has a Maryland sticker on one side of the box. What you see in the photos is what I have. It looks like a few of the original parts that came in the box are missing. It has some scratches in the paint. The lock mechanism is missing and has no key. It has a slide kit from sears that is included. The manual doesn't match the microscope but is included anyway. Good luck bidding. Antique Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope, 1912
Very nice. Antique example of this fine piece of medical equipment. Found at a local estate sale, complete with original carrying case, working lock, and the key. Metal plaque at top of carrying box says. Ernst Leitz, Berlin Mikroscope& Laboratoriumsbedarf, N. W. 6 Luisen-Str.45. I've not attempted to clean the brass. Glass or any of the parts. All appear intact, with no breaks or cracks visible. This microscope saw considerable work, it seems, perhaps most evident by the character marks on the box(also, a fleck or two of paint picked up along the way) The family from whom this was bought claimed it was used by their uncle, a doctor who had immigrated from Germany; this was his personal property. Note: According to the serial number. No. 154034, this device was manufactured in 1912. The same number is stamped into the top edge of ... morethe box lid(see photos) apparently making this the original box, too. There are various accessories. Although not really a full complement: an extra eyepiece( brass and plastic cylindrical containers, small bottle of immersion oil, cedarwood oil, a few microscopic cover glass circles, two old vials of blue and red litmus paper, and cardboard glass slide holders(only a couple of glass slides, though) All fit snugly in the intact box. Resting in their custom-made racks and clips. PayPal only.

Antique Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope with Parallel linkage No 5349
This microscope belonged to my father. What he did with it. I couldn't say. He wasn't a doctor, and actually, it was just stored away. I never saw him use it. It is in very nice condition. The brass table for slides has one place on the right side where the paint is off it in about a 1/8" area. The back of the base has some marks, something sticky that is on the paint. I didn't want to chance trying to clean them with a solvent. The lenses are all good. The fine adjustment mechanism works smoothly and has no play. The rotating disc under the table clicks in solidly to it's detents, and the mirror moves smoothly. It is certainly a nicely made instrument. I believe this style would have been considered a traveling microscope, if I am reading their history correctly. Another one like this on EBay listed it as 1908. I couldn't ... moresay for sure what year this one is. The number on the table is 5349.

ANTIQUE E. LEITZ (WEZLAR) BRASS MICROSCOPE - #3
ANTIQUE E. LEITZ(WEZLAR) MICROSCOPE#3 THIS IS FROM AN ESTATE. I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS A SCIENCE OR MEDICAL MICROSCOPE( THE LENSES APPEAR TO BE BAUSCH& LOMB. I BELIEVE IT IS FROM THE 1920'S ERA( POSSIBLY EARLIER(DUE TO THE FACT THAT I DON'T SEE A BEND IN THE STEEL WHERE IT TILTS ON THE BACK SHAFT WHERE THE LENSE GOES UP AND DOWN. THE MISCROSCOPES THAT I HAVE SEEN FROM 1929"DO" HAVE THE BEND IN THE STEEL. POSSIBLY THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN MEDICAL SCOPE& ONE USED FOR SCIENCE LABS? THE MICROSCOPES THAT I HAVE RE-SEARCHED BY THIS MAN ARE VERY COLLECTIBLE& RARE! THERE ARE EXTRA LENSES; BUT NO BOX OR SLIDES. THERE IS SOME WEAR TO THE BRASS ON THE SHAFT OF THE MICROSCOPE. HOWEVER OVER-ALL, IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. I WOULD ALSO LIKE FOR YOU TO TAKE"NOTE" OF HOW THE MICROSCOPE MEASURES: ... moreANY ONE OUT THERE WITH KNOWLEDGE& FAMILIARITY WITH E. LEITZ'S MICROSCOPES AND CAN ENLIGHTEN ME; I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE HEARING FROM YOU. YOU MAY EMAIL ME THRU EBAY MESSAGES. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS.

E Leitz Wetzlar No. 17235 Microscope, J Robinson & Sons, Dublin, Mahogany Case
This microscope was used by my Father when he was in Medical School in the late1930's. But he mentioned that it was a gift from his uncle, who was also a medical doctor, who lived in Ireland. From what I understand it is an antique brass"Parallel Linkage" microscope manufactured by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany. It was sold by J Robinson& Sons, Dublin, and has what seems to be an ivory nameplate on the wooden box(see photos) This instrument is based upon the Leitz Stand V(first introduced in 1876) and is signed on the front face of the upper portion of the body tube: E. Leitz Wetzlar No. 17235. The Box matches the instrument and also has the"17235" on it(see Photo) I am not certain, but this seems to date the instrument to the early 1900's. This microscope has the original fitted horizontal Mahogany wooden ... morecase. A set of two Leitz objective lenses(marked"3" and"7" in the original Leitz box) and a set of two eyepieces. The wooden case has a few marks on it, measures 11 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches and has an inner compartment into which some glass slides are located and one slide"hold down" piece. I do not have the key for the case. The instrument still works well, although it shows some wear and should be cleaned and polished. Should you want further information or more photos. Please contact me via email or cell 419 508 4330. Thank you. 0fe.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d70f%2B%3E0fe-145201767e7-0x114-

Impressive E. Leitz Microscope from 1912 in Optimal Working Order.
Impressive E. Leitz Microscope in Optimal Working Order. Germany. 1912 Striking antique microscope in excellent condition and working order. Made in the early 20th century by the prestigious brand E. Leitz Wetlzar, Germany. The item dates from 1912 and is quite beautiful, a model designed for professional use. It comes in its original beech wooden case and is accompanied by a wide arrange of accessories and lenses, preserved in delicate boxes and stands. One of the most interesting features of this microscope is the delicate micrometrical adjustment system of the sample plate, a very special detail in perfect working order. The microscope’s turret bears the manufacturer’s name. E. Leitz Wetzlar, engraved at the front. Just below this inscription we can see the instrument’s serial number: Nº 155245. The original factory was founded in ... more1849 by Karl Kellner as Optical Institute of Wetzlar; they manufactured mainly telescopes. Soon the microscopes took over as the main product. In 1865 Enrst Leitz, a very capable engineer, entered the firm; he eventually took over the company in 1869 and changed its name for Optical Institut of Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. The brand produced wonderful microscopes just like the one we can see in these images, and was also responsible for the design of world-famous Leica cameras. The microscope has a bird-claw foot covered by a bright black enameled finish. It is made of cast iron and looks great. Shiny and regular. The mobile component parts, made of chromed metal and brass, are also in good condition and perfect operation. On the other hand, the wooden case is also complete and well preserved, with the original handle, lock and operating key. Inside we find a label with the handwritten date of the last revision and information about the three lenses that make up the revolving nosepiece. This antique microscope. Made by a prestigious brand and with micrometrical adjustment system in the sample plate, is an exclusive piece worthy of the best collection. Measurements: Width: 5.9 in/15 cm.
