For auction is a rare antique German compound microscope by Schutz. This is a very interesting piece that appears to be made from brass and iron(steel) it is labeled Schutz A.G. Cassel 19595 D.R.G.M. i have read that the acronym stands for"Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster" or"German Reich Registered Design" in English. This piece is pre WWII and most likely from the first quarter of the 20th century. It is very well designed and made to a high degree or quality like the Zeiss and leitz microscopes of the period. It stands around 11" tall and is quite heavy for its size. The overall condition is good for its age(1912) it dose need to be polished but iam not willing to do that winning bidder may want this in its original condition. Some pieces may be missing i do not know what originally came with this set but everything ... moremoves as it should.Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. Up for sale is this unusual Antique Light Microscope. I can describe it. But do not know anything of the history. It is mostly brass, but the center section appears to be copper. It is unsigned, with just the number"11" and a star imprinted in the metal on the underside of the stage. The base also appears to be bronze, instead of cast iron. I've looked at quite a few antique microscopes online and cannot find one like this one. All the parts seem to move as they are intended. The eyepiece moves up and down and there the lens seem to be intact. The whole upper section tilts on the base. The mirror swivels and moves forward and backward. But the mirror is black in places where the silver came off, as happens with old mirrors. The stage clip is in one piece and slides up and down the arm. There is a wheel beneath the stage with ... morevarious sized holes to control the amount of light coming through. The eyepiece moves up and down along a track. And it moves by adjusting a wheel. Both the track and the part that holds the wheel to the track, appear to have been screwed in with tiny screws at one point. They those pieces were welded. The welds look about the same age as the rest of it. It also has a chip in the front of the stage. Please look closely at the photos provided and email with any questions. It is about +/ 10 inches high. I ship internationally on a limited basis(Canada. UK, Australia, etc) just email me for shipping costs.

This is a very cool World War I era antique/vintage Bausch& Lomb microscope acquired from the University of Colorado. Boulder. Ocular, lenses, and body are label'Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, NY. This unit has a cast iron body and I believe the rest of it brass, though some of it has been enameled black. One of the lenses is labeled 170mm and the other 16mm. Light passes through the optics, but that is the extent of my testing. 93' is etched into the side of the ocular and stenciled onto the base. Table has a small crack on the side. ANTIQUE BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE* Engraved Signature on the Brass Base: John W. Sidle. Lancaster. Pa. ACME Wm Stanley Jr#194 Objective Reads: E. Gundlach* Estimated Early 1880’s* Stands about 15 to 17 inches high. Depending on the position of the scope* Please read the description in full. Review all photos and ask all questions prior to bidding. Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Which I estimate as being from about 1880(130+ years old) so there is some wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. According to this extract from the American Artifacts Website: Sidle began making microscopes. First in partnership with Poalk, in Philadelphia, and then as"John W. Sidle& Co, Lancaster PA" His several models of 1880 were called the"Acme" ... moreand some of his ads referred to the"Acme Optical Works" Lancaster, PA. In 1881, James W. Queen& Co. took over the marketing of Sidle's Acme microscopes, which they continued to sell into the 20th century. I am very pleased to offer this attractive antique binocular microscope. A fantastic presentation piece. This appears to be the Binocular(Double Tube/ Scope) version of the ACME No. 3 Microscope produced by Sidle in the early 1880’s(see last photo) As might be expected. This is not in perfect, 100 percent complete condition, but still a great, very attractive piece of scientific history. I have tried my best to thoroughly identify any issues/ notes based on a comparison of the monocular version found online and my visual review. I am passionate about antique microscopes and enjoy hanging onto them briefly as a hobby/ admirer. But I am not able to yet call myself an expert so, again, please review as well and do not hesitate to ask questions: 1. No box or other accessories included beyond shown in the photos. 2. Beautiful combination of what look to be brass(majority) and copper(accents– knobs. Joint, swinging mirror gauge, objective cuffi
This is an old Leitz Wetzlar brass embellished microscope. No 272910 In fairly good condition overall. Missing one objective lens(it has the 44x and the 10x) Missing the mechanical stage slide holder. But still has the dovetail gear on the side Needs a cleaning- and has some chipping in the black paint over the iron armature- the usual wear. Ocular lens is 10x. Brass is good- scratches seem to only be in the lacquer covering the brass. Needs to be polished- brass is more yellow than is showing in the pictures. Overall it functions properly and there is no mechanical issues. Tube. Condenser and fine focus all seem to be working fine and smoothly. Look at pics- email questions. Ships only in the USA. Unless you really want to pay the extra shipping overseas- it is heavy and would cost a lot more to ship.
This is an antique brass microscope with a wooden case. The microscope is 6 inches tall. The microscope. Wood case, lenses, and mirror are in fine shape. This microscope has knurled knobs and a knurled base that give it the classic look of brass scientific instruments from the 19th century. The wood case still has both latches! It is marked Made in France and is probably from the late 1800's to early 1900's. This works great on a sunny day! It appears to have a magnification of about 20X- Looking at a machinist's ruler. 3/64 fills up the field, which appears about 1 inch in diameter. The field of view is clear and bright. The focus is sharp. The mirror is clean and bright. The lens pushes down toward the mirror for storage, and pulls up to insert a slide above the mirror. $5 FLAT RATE shipping to the lower US 48 states. Actual ... moreshipping everywhere else. Vintage Bausch& Lomb Antique Brass Microscope Circa 1899 The pictures do not do justice to the way this instrument gleams! All the movements move freely with no binding or sticky spots. The Irises on the condenser move freely as well. The bottom iris looks like it is missing a couple of the leaves, there is what appears to be one of them that was in the drawer of the case. It is shown in one of the pictures. The Case is in good shape. But it is showing it's age, the cabinet does lock and includes a key. I have added a shipping charge to this due to the extra care that is needed to package this securely to ensure it will arrive safely also to cover the extra charges due to it's weight.

This offering is a rather simple brass microscope. From Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar(Germany) the same firm which made the classic Leica Cameras(although this was made long before any Leica Cameras were made) Leica is short for LEItz CAmera) It is rather handsome, simplistically functional, and in my opinion is very attractive on a shelf. Most of the original lacquer is still present. And adds to the attractiveness. It is engraved: E. Leitz Wetzlar- New-York No 30069. Which identifies it as mfg. about 1894, per Bracegirdle's book: Notes on Modern Microscope Manufacturers" The New York address was a sales agency- Leitz microscope manufacture was in Wetzlar. From the beginning(1849) still is. Interestingly, the present new microscopes are now called"Leica" though"Leica" was originally, and for many years, the name of the ... morevery fine and very popular camera made by Leitz, Wetzlar, in Wetzlar. The precision column top knob fine focus. And sliding tube coarse focus still function very well, and the eyepiece and objective do function also. I would not expect this to serve well enough to win you a Nobel Prize, however, while it is not really a very useful microscope, it does work- To demonstrate that, I just put a piece of multi-colored cloth on the stage, illuminated it from above with my pocket LED penlight, and took the picture shown(last above) of black thread crossing colored threads under rather high magnification- just holding my Nikon Coolpix up to the eyepiece, as steadily as I can. I think of this as more something quite attractive. Historic, and interesting to look at, rather than to really use- it is as shown- no case, no extra parts, no sub stage, just a very basic stand- I have kept it on a shelf for years, where it looks quite attractive, and evokes interest. Height measures from 10 to 13 inches, depending on the tube expansion, base is about 3" by 3 1/2" and stage is about 2" by 3" Wt. is est. at 2 lbs. All metal(mostly brass) and a little glass) No Plastic! You get

Antique Brass and Metal Spencer Microscope with Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Attachment and Spencer Illuminator Serial No 24832 All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great older brass microscope for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. There were 10 microscopes recently at a high end auction that appeared to be from someone's collection or a high end store that dealt in them. I acquired 6 of them. Here is another one of them. The other microscopes will be made available for sale separately at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope scope and the lens and objective case and dials are made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass and painted surfaces in places. The black painted part of the microscope stand is some sort of other metal. There is a 6x and 10x ... moreeye lens with the scope. Also a 3x with the scope that is not the right diameter. There are no date. The serial number of 24832 on the microscope would make it as having been produced around 1914 to 1915. There is also a Spencer illuminator with the microscope that has a great vintage power cord on it. The illuminator lights up when plugged in. There is a clear and blue lens inside. The reflector is still behind the bulb. The microscope also has some sort of brass Ernst Leitz Wetzlar attachment on it for moving the specimen around both horizontally and vertically on the observation plate. This is a really nice attachment and in very nice condition. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is two sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lenses or objectives. The microscope is 12.25" tall. By 6" across, by 6.75" wide. Nice what appears to be the original wood case, missing the original wood drawers. Case is intact, still has its' lock, no key. The objectives are a 1.8mm, a 4mm and a 6mm. Handle
Vintage Brass and Iron Microscope. Both lenses are marked E. Leitz Wetzlar. The eyepiece can be raised and lowered easily and the 2 lower opticals rotate easily. The entire mechanism can pivot 90 degrees so the barrel is horizontal. The lower double mirror is in fine shape- no cracks. The finish on the metal has some nicks and scratches etc. as shown in the photos. Eyepiece lens marked"GRAF APSCO CHICAGO. USA 10X" Lower lenses are marked 5 and 7. All appears to be in good functional use to my untrained eye, but it would need a proper cleaning to remove the dust specks from the lenses. Even as a display piece it is simply stunning. Measures Approx: 14" tall at full height down to 11” Base is 4" x 5 1/2" Please Feel Free To Ask Questions Especially Before Bidding.

Antique English Brass Microscope with Bar Limb Design with Varley Stage Original Case 1860s Here is a great older English brass microscope for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. And remember. There is never any sales tax to our US customers as we live in Delaware, the home of tax free shopping! There were 10 microscopes recently at a high end auction that appeared to be from someone's collection or a high end store that dealt in them. I acquired 6 of them. Here is another one of them. The other microscopes will be made available for sale separately at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope scope and much of the body with the exception of the base are made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass and painted surfaces in places. The black painted part of the microscope stand is some ... moresort of other metal. There are the patent dates of October 1876 and October 1885 noted on a brass plate on the microscope. I do not see a serial number on the microscope. Nor do I see a makers mark on the scope eye lens or objective. The legs and the case of this one remind me of a Thomas Cooke microscope, but again no markings on the piece. So, you be the judge of the maker before acquiring. The scope came with a card that identified it as a English microscope circa 1860. And then that it is a bar limb design with a Varley stage. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is one sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lens or objective. The microscope is 13.75" tall. By 4.25" across, by 5.25" wide. The microscope came with a great old case and appears original to the scope. There is a separate wood piece in the base of the case that the 3 legs fit into perfectly. The case wood appears to be mahogany. The case still has its' lock in it, but no key. The hinges still operate and securely attache

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE RARE CIRCA 1860 BRASS STAGE FORCEPS I have the pleasure of offering for sale a rare. Circa 1860, brass stage forceps that fits most microscopes from the late 1800s and many of the 1900s. The stage forceps was a very popular accessory during the golden days of amateur microscopy as it greatly facilitates the examination of opaque objects with conventional transmitted light microscopes. Stage forceps, consist of a forceps mounted at the end of a metal rod that slides inside a sleeve attached to a short supporting stem(see pictures) The rod can be extended as necessary to bring the object into the objective field of view, then the rod can be rotated a full 360º for full examination of the object. The microscope shown in pictures 5 to 8 is for demonstration only. CONDITION: The condition is excellent; ... moreremarkable for an item about 150 year-old(Please. See the pictures as they are part of the description) Please. Feel free to ask any question. Shipping prices outside the continental USA are higher. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK! Vintage Brass Bausch& Lomb microscope with wood case.late 1890's.needs a good cleaning.would look great on display.
Heavy. Antique BRASS MICROSCOPE, Made in France An original manufacture by E. Deyrolle. 46 Rue du Bac, Paris. It is missing the lens of the lower swing-out arm. But it is probably still a functional piece of equipment. Rotation wheels work smoothly. Could be used for decorative display in a library or office. It has been left unpolished(per"Antiques Roadshow" recommendations) but it would be more attractive if polished. Scope can be removed at full upward rotation(photo#6) Dimensions: 13 inches tall with scope rotated down fully(photos#1 and#2) or 15 inches tall with scope rotated up fully(not shown) 5 inches deep at base/ 4 inches across at base. Weight: 7 lbs before shipping.
From a local school. I believe this to be a Bausch& Lomb"Jug" microscope. Decent condition as you can see from the pics. The iris seen in the last two pics appears to work fine. Microscope only. No box or documentation. What you see is what you get. The drop in eyepiece appears to be a replacement and not the original. Still it works fine. Ships to lower 48 states only. thanks pat

This is as found from a family estate. The optics are intact. But are dusty from storage. The brass is not polished, it is as found. The base is CAST IRON. The lens holder has thumb screws to tighten the samples in place. The only information I find is one of the sample arms says MADE IN GERMANY. The optics are INTACT. As I can see the RED GREEN AND BLUE PIXELS on my computer screen PERFECTLY! Optics are dusty. Honestly, I am amazed at clarity. It is amazing! The brass optics slide and adjust for focusing. The reflector is intact. It needs a new home! I will ship this item FREE FREIGHT IN THE USA.

An antique"Argus Nr. 606" Brass Microscope. 6 3/4" high, made in Germany and housed in its original wood box, 2 3/4" x 8 9/16" x 2 1/2" high, with original hook closures. There's a paper label inside the box with some information but I don't see any maker's mark on the Microscope. GERMANY" is impressed into the 2" diameter iron base. The top section can be adjusted up and down and can also be removed from the bottom section. Condition. In good condition overall. I didn't polish the brass but left it as found. The surface of the adjustable mirror is in good condition with some oxidation across the middle section that doesn't seem to interfere with reflecting light into the Microscope. The top and bottom glass lenses are in good condition with no scratches. There is an old short closed ... morecrack in the bottom section of the brass band above the section that holds the slide that can be seen in one of the side view photos of the Microscope(as the Microscope front faces to the right) This part doesn't hold the top section in place so it doesn't affect the use of the Microscope in any way. There are NO slides with this Microscope although there is space for 4 slides in the box. Shipping weight of carefully wrapped package. 3 pounds Buyer pays shipping. Here we have a very nice early 20th Century brass Microscope made by R. J. Beck. Ltd, London. The serial number is 27083. The microscope is in very good condition for its age. I lightly cleaned the dust from it. And examined a piece of hair. It works very well, aside from the dust that appears under power. Most of the original Lacquer is still on the brass, probably about 95% or so. Everything works as it should. Including the course and fine focus. The instrument will tip back and stay in place at various angles as it should as well. The iris on the condenser is also functional, however, the leaves were a little banged up when I got it, so I took it apart and put it back together.consequently, I make no assertions that the iris will stay in tact after repeated use. There are two objective lenses on it. One is marked X50. Watson B3379, Para ... more4mm NA 70. The other is marked R& J Beck Ltd 2/3 14mm A. These lenses thread into a dual housing that can be rolled to select one lens or the other. The housing for the lenses slides into place on the microscope as opposed to threading on, and it doesn't seem to fit as tight as it should, though it will stay in place. The mirror is in good shape, with a little clouding around the edges. There is one small ding on the microscope. As pictured in the last pic. It is about the size of a pencil eraser and about 1 milimeter deep; it does not affect anything. Good luck bidding. I will ship International. But rates will vary; please contact me for an international shipping quote before bidding.

Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Likely around 140 years old, so there is some wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional ... morenotes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. I am very pleased to offer this attractive antique binocular microscope by Charles Baker of London. A handsome. Stately presentation piece! This appears to be an early example of the bar-limb design first pioneered by Andrew Ross. As might be expected with a mechanical antique of this age. It is not in perfect, complete condition. Descriptions can sometimes be subjective. And details/ condition of mechanical antiques difficult to capture in photos. While I am passionate about antique microscopes and enjoy hanging onto them briefly as a hobby/ admirer. I am not able to yet call myself an expert so please review as well, and do not hesitate to ask questions/ request more photos. I have tried my best to thoroughly identify any issues/ notes based on a top-to-bottom visual review. 1. No box or other accessories included beyond shown in the photos(as is) 2. The adjustment knob controlling the vertical position of the scope works reasonably nicely between the highest and lowest position. Moves fairly smoothly and there appear to be no kinks in the treads(see photos) 3. The microsc
Has every bell and whistle of its time.Has a solid bronze swing arm(spine of microscope) Very unusual for this model microscope.Probably a prototype of some sort. Every adjustment and knob works smoothly.Oversized case 16" tall by 10" by 10" Two sets of eyepieces. Red glass filter. Magnifies great! What a beautiful microscope set.
Antique Brass Microscope Double Pillar Design Dual Power Magnification This microscope was likely made in France around the year 1875. This is based on information and photos posted on the internet. I am not an expert in this field and cannot guarantee the age or country of manufacture of this piece. Two powers of magnification are available. Unscrewing the outer objective lens provides lower power viewing. It is in very good working order. Although lenses might benefit from some cleaning. I have not detected any damage to the optics. It has a double sided mirror illuminator with the concave side being damaged(see photos) The flat mirror is excellent. The multiple aperture diaphragm under the stage is in very good condition. Other than some blemishes on the finish, I am not aware of any significant defects. Please examine photos. Height is ... moreapprox 10 inches. Beautiful brass construction. Base is cast iron with green/brass lacquered finish. 40" is stamped into the yoke holding the main tube(see photo) 11" is stamped in the corner of the bottom of the stage(see photo) Unique extension arm for magnifier. Case appears original. The top and bottom boards have some splits from drying out and there are some small paint splotches on the finish. Please refer to photos of the case. The piece inside the case that supports the neck of the microscope is loose. But is present. All latches and hinges are in good order. This piece is offered as you see it and as I have described to the best of my limited ability. Please examine the photos carefully. Contact me through eBay with any questions that you may have. I will be very happy to respond. Satisfaction is guaranteed

Brass Microscope by Spencer Lens Company- circa 1895 SN# 1704 The first microscopes bearing name Spencer Lens Company were produced in 1895. This microscope is serial number 1704 out of the original 3.000 to 4,000 models produced that year. This particular model is an all brass continental design with an extendable nickel plated draw tube. A horse shoe foot, and a single vertically positioned fine focus dial with engraved graduations. The original lacquer has worn off and the brass finish shows wear in accordance with it's age. The lenses and eyepiece still work but the mirror is missing. Mirrors from some of my other antique microscopes including an early 1900's Bausch& lomb jug handle and circa 1907 spencer will fit onto this microscope relatively well but I do not have a spare to sell along with this particular item. History: ... moreCharles Spencer was the first American maker of microscopes. Publishing his first catalog in 1838. Later, in 1865, he began operating as C.A. Spencer& Sons. Between 1890 and 1895 the company operated by the name of Spencer& Smith. But in 1895 it became the Spencer Lens Company. American Optical bought the Spencer Lens Company in 1935 and by 1945 it was known as the Instrument Division of American Optical Company.
I don't know much about this microscope. It is a Spencer buffalo. It has 10x. 6x eye pieces. 1.8, 4, 16 MM objectives. SN 39826. I tried to take enough pics so you could see the condition of everything. As far as I can tell everything is in good working condition except for as you can see in the pics, the upper shutter type thing on the condenser is rusty. It comes in the original wood case. I don't have the key for it.
