For your consideration is a vintage microscope eyepiece / ocular lens. It is unmarked as to manufacturer; there are no obvious markings or indentification ... moreon it anywhere. It unscrews about 1/3 of the way down and becomes two parts. The bottom diameter is 1 3/8 inch (35mm). It is 2 1/4 inch (57mm) in height. I don’t know how to judge magnification but it does not appear to be an overly powerful magnification. The glass appears to be clear, unscratched, and in very good condition. This lens comes to you in a small tin container that looks, to my eye, to be 1800s vintage. You are purchasing this item as-is and as-pictured. Thank you for your interest.

Vintage, Miniature, Brass, Field Microscope, Made in Germany
Very nice. Pocket size, field microscope. When assembled it stands just 3.5 inches tall, the cylinder with eyepiece is 2 inches long and 1 and 3/8 inches across. The cylinder appears to be brass with an Bakelite eyepiece. The sturdy base is steel painted black and the mirror is double sided: one side is the actual casing which appears to be polished stainless steel and acts as a mirror while the other is an enclosed glass mirror. I imagine this is to give 2 different intensities of reflected light dependant on the subject to be viewed. The underside of the cylinder has Made in Germany stamped into the metal. see photo) The operation is quite simple, by depressing the 2 spring loaded pins on the sides of the cylinder an opening appears into which the slide is inserted. The mirror swivels to allow maximum light and the focusing is done by turning ... morethe Bakelite eyepiece. There are no date markings on the piece so I’m unsure of it’s actual date of manufacture. All parts are in excellent condition and move smoothly. Although everything appears to be in good working order I am selling the piece as is. slide and 25 cent piece are for size comparison and not included) Thanks for looking and check out more of my listings to see other interesting objects.

This fine instrument ... morecomes in its original wood case along with two oculars and two Leitz objective lenses. This microscope bears the name of the manufacturer on the front face of the body tube. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. The manufacturer is also identified on a metal tab found at the top of the limb, E. Leitz Wetzlar, Germany. Also found on the face of the body tube is a serial number, 270112. This serial number dates this instrument to the year 1929. As is mentioned in the 2003 publication entitled. The Petrographic Microscope: Evolution of a Mineralogical Research Instrument” by Daniel E. Kile. Petrographic microscopes and accessories are comparatively rare. For every 100 biological microscopes manufactured, perhaps only one was made for petrographic use. In addition, petrographic microscopes are much more complicated than biological microscopes. Although the magnifying powers used are comparable and not so great, there are attached appliances for special examination of mineral or chemical substances that require very careful adjustment. This Leitz specialty microscope is equipped with such special features as a rotating circular stage with peripheral vernier scale, a quick exchange br

Circa 1850 Thomas King Bristol England Antique Brass Microscope
This is an English microscope. It is circa 1850's. It was made in Bristol. Microscope is 13 inches tall. Thomas Davies King(1819-1884) exhibited three microscopes(at least one of which was of his own design) And an illuminator, at the 1851 Great Exhibition of London. These were described as, Compound achromatic microscope mounted on a pyramidal tripod, with mechanical stage, traversing in rectangular planes by micrometer screws, achromatic condenser, polariscope, double refracting goniometer, cobweb micrometer and other eye-pieces, insect forceps, and various accessories. In this microscope the weight is equally distributed over the base, and when inclined at its working angle the chief portion is brought below the point of suspension; the traversing stage has divided scales and verniers, whereby admeasurements can be accurately determined” ... morea“Student's compound achromatic and single microscope” and an“Improved spherical prismatic illuminator, for transparent and opaque microscopic objects, enabling the rays of light to be thrown either obliquely or vertically” He was awarded an Honourable Mention for“workmanship. of the first order” His business was located at 2 Clare Street, Bristol, which was also his family’s home. Sometime thereafter, another shop was opened on the corner of Denmark Street and St. Augustine’s Parade. This information is an excerpt from Brian Stevenson's essay on Husbands and Clarke(at one point King's senior journeymen) I recommend reading this essay if you are interested in 19th Century microscopes from Bristol. Antique Brass Microscope or Scientific Instrument Part Mortar Sight
For sale is brass part that appears to be from an antique scientific instrument(microscope? No makers mark on it. The knob on the lower portion(see last pic) is used to move the mirror and the arm on the side at the same time. However. The knob just freewheels when you turn it and does not engage the shaft. probably could be fixed I imagine, but does not function properly as is. When you move the mirror with your hand that arm will move and vice versa. Appears to be missing something at the top(see pics 5 and 6) and this open tube is dinged up/bent on the threaded edge. Update: I have told that this a mortar sight or part of a mortar sight Click on pictures to enlarge for more details Shipping is USPS Priority Mail to the USA Missouri Residents must pay 8.35% sales tax

Antique brass E. Leitz Monocular Microscope, unrestored condition.
Antique brass E. Leitz Monocular Microscope. Unrestored condition. This is an Ernst Leitz microscope No. 224377. Note: it appears to be all original Leitz except the nosepiece is from a Spencer. The objective is marked: 3 E. Leitz Wetzlar, the condenser is not marked but does have a freely working iris diaphragm, the condenser carrier has an unusual(to me at least) height adjuster. The plano/concave mirror looks good and the coarse and fine focus adjustments are both silky smooth. Since I don’t normally deal with antique microscopes, I have not made any attempt to clean or polish this microscope. I think it would look great if it were cleaned up. SUPERB VINTAGE BRASS MICROSCOPE by BAKER LONDON + CASE 1930 telescope
SUPERB VINTAGE BRASS MICROSCOPE by BAKER LONDON + CASE 1930 telescope This is a great VINTAGE MICROSCOPE by BAKER of LONDON In my estimation it dates from around the early 20th Century. It is made from lacquered brass throughout. The instrument has screw barrel focusing. Illumination is provided by an adjustable mirror beneath the stage. The base is marked with the maker's name C BAKER LONDON It is in good condition with light wear consistent with its age. But no major damage or repairs. one of the slide clips has come loose and needs re-attaching to the stage. It is complete with its original fitted case. antique microscope Body? Nice Brass Work-found In Telescope Shop-L@@K
Found this at a very unique auction! The guy was mid 80s and he was a machinist/ mad scientist for General Electric. He had more contraptions than Einstein! Very unique and rare items. He made a lot of the stuff and he was known for making amazing telescopes. This was found in the basement and I just thought it was awesome! I don't know if he made it but as his other worked showed he had the capability. I couldn't find any markings. Use as microscope or repurpose! Nice brass work! Thanks for looking! London during the last quarter of the 19th Century. This microscope is signed quite ... moresimply in block letters on the right side of the limb. SWIFT, LONDON” see close-up image) Note: The signature is relatively small and quite faint, but can best be discerned under oblique lighting. Typical of many of Swift’s instruments, this microscope does not bear a serial number and so accurately dating the instrument is somewhat problematic. However, based on how it is signed, it would seem to date sometime before a partnership between James Swift and his son, Mansell James Smith, was formed and officially advertised as James Swift& Son in the company’s catalogues. Note: Some scientific instrument historians say the father and son partnership was formed in 1884 and others including Bracegirdle say it was several years earlier in the late 1870s. Thus, based primarily on the nature of the signature, we can conservatively date this instrument to circa 1883. This microscope features a form of the Wale Limb that was first invented by the American Optician. George Wale, in circa 1879. Wale introduced his invention on his“Working Microscope, which featured a method of inclining the microscope with a radial arm rather than using the more conventional compass or trunnion

Antique Brass Bausch & Lomb CCS7 Continental Model Microscope c1900 made in NY
Amazing Antique Microscope: According to Internet research(I am not an expert when it comes to antique scientific equipment) This is a… Bausch& Lomb CCS7 Continental model research microscope from c1900 made in New York. Rack& pinion coarse focus& graduated wheel. Screw fine focus. Triple rotating nosepiece and four objectives. It has a rotating stage with centering screws and slide clips, rack& pinion sub-stage with Abbe condenser, and a rack& pinion mounted adjustable diaphragm. The sub-stage mirror is plano-convex. The draw tube is graduated from 150 to 230mm for different objectives. Measures 15" tall x 5" in base width x 6.5" thick(base) Condition wise this microscope has natural patina. All the dials function and move freely. The construction is amazing. It’s extremely heavy and the action on the dials ... moreis still smooth as butter. It is dirty and needs to be cleaned(by someone more knowledgeable than me) before use. If that’s even your intended purpose, the lenses& mirror need attention before you can clearly make out enlarged images or even see how well it truly functions. I have not done anything to tarnish the finish or try and buff the brass into shinning as that may not be the wish of it’s new owner. The similar ones I have seen for sale are not the round stage ones( round stage models are older than the rectangular ones) But most others appear very shinny and while beautiful, I don't know that they had that polished finish new in the early 1900’s. This one is missing the case that it came with new and two of the three objectives appear to be non original(newer stainless finish one is dated patent 1925) Three additional eyepieces are included. Not sure if they fit, but they do not look original– one is stamped univ. of Mass. These were extremely expensive new in the early 1900’s too– I saw something about this model being $137.50 new– for comparison Ford Model T’s went for as low as $260 new in the 1920’s. Buy It Now $487.45 and all offers will be reviewed Flat

Sidle& Co. of Lancaster. PA. Offered here is a superbly preserved example of Sidle’s ... moreAcme No. 3 Stand. This instrument is signed and the model name is identified in block letters on the top rear leg of the Y-shaped tripod foot. “JOHN W. SIDLE& CO. LANCASTER, PA. ACME.” It also includes a serial number engraved on the rear of the same foot, “178.” This serial number dates the instrument to the year 1880 just before Sidle dedicated the full production of his Acme microscope line to James W. Queen& Co. of Philadelphia, PA in the year 1881. With this low serial number, it represents an early pre-mass production version of the Acme line of microscopes produced directly by Sidle himself. NOTE: For more details on John W. Sidle and the history of the Acme microscope line please see below. Sidle developed several versions of this microscope model- all with versatility in mind. The Acme was initially offered with a continental style horseshoe shaped foot and then with a tripod foot. Both monocular and binocular versions were offered. One nuance was that the instrument was designed so that the brass foot could be removed and the stand mounted on a wood base with a lamp at one end so the instrument could be used as a “Class Microscope” for demonstration purposes in

Vintage 1932 Spencer Microscope of Buffalo - Iron and Brass
This 1932 Spencer Microscope is a great display piece. It is iron and brass and quite striking. The brass has a very coppery look to it. This piece is very good condition and all the knobs appear to work. Under the table is a piece with an aperture that opens and closes to adjust the amount of light being exposed to the slide. The aperture is intact and works. There does. However, appear to be some pieces missing. At the end of the body, there is a rotating disk that has spaces for three lenses that are not there. I think those are the only missing parts, but I'm not an expert and can't be sure. If you have any specific questions, please ask well before the auction closes.

ANTIQUE BRASS DOUBLE PILLAR MICROSCOPE W/MOVING STAGE FINE FOCUS + POLISHED BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD CASE – CIRCA 1850 You are invited to purchase a rare and very fine antique brass double pillar French-made microscope. This instrument comes in a very nice polished Brazilian Rosewood case along with a compliment of three(3) non-RMS objective ... morelenses. One unusual and interesting feature of this microscope is that it has a moving stage fine focus mechanism that is described in more detail below. This instrument is unsigned and lacks a traditional serial number. It is definitely of French origin. But identifying the manufacturer is somewhat problematic. However, our research shows that Henri Soleil of Paris might possibly have made it, as this French instrument maker is known to have made a variety of microscopes that feature a moving stage fine focus mechanism. The overall design appears to date the instrument to circa 1850. NOTE: For more information on Soleil of Paris. Antique Vintage German Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope #2
Antique German brass microscope. Marked E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No. 250088 Very good condition; I do not see anything wrong with it. No scratches, dents or damage that I can see. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good to excellent condition, and all the knobs rotate freely and easily. It is heavy and weighs about 8 1/2 lbs. Please see photos and feel free to contact me if you have questions. I ... morepack carefully and usually ship on the next business day after payment clears. Antique Brass Early 20th Century Watson London Praxis Microscope Instrument
A brass microscope marked W Watson& Sons Ltd. 313 High Holborn London. No.24144, early 20th century with original fitted walnut case. I believe the serial number dates it to around 1918. This had been stored for decades, the case needed some minor repairs but has cleaned up beautifully, but is lacking the door key. Once cleaned, the microscope was found to be in remarkably good original condition. There is minor spotting to the lacquered brass components, both sides of the mirror are very good, with very minor degrading to the silvering on one side. This is not my field of expertise so it is not tested, but it is in undamaged mechanical condition. The case has a very good colour, and minimal rubs and bruises, as already mentioned the door lock is without key. Its quite compact at 14 X 20 X 35 cms. Heavy item so UK postage only. Posible ... moreInternational postage but email me for a price.
A characterful antique Victorian brass drum microscope with wooden box
A nice example of a drum type microscope dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian era. This has a three lenses. Which are all attached to the instrument. The microscope is in good condition with just some slight wear to the mirror and a little to the lacquered finish on the brass. There is no makers mark. The microscope does have a wooden box. Which does have a couple of splits in the lid- but both sound. One of the box catches is also broken. All in all it's a great little microscope. KUBLER ANTIQUE BRASS DOUBLE PILLAR MICROSCOPE W/MOVING STAGE FINE FOCUS + POLISHED BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD CASE – CIRCA 1870 You are invited to purchase a rare and very fine antique brass double pillar French-made microscope. This instrument comes in a very nice polished Brazilian Rosewood case along with a compliment of three(3) non-RMS objective lenses. ... moreOne unusual and interesting feature of this microscope is that it has a moving stage fine focus mechanism that is described in more detail below. This instrument is unsigned and lacks a traditional serial number. It is definitely of French origin. But identifying the manufacturer has proved to be somewhat problematic. However, a fellow antique microscope collector was able to help us to identify the manufacturer as J. Kubler. Engineering Optician, 23 Passage du Saumon, Paris. This collector has a signed microscope in his collection with the same features as the listed instrument. J. Kubler was an optician based in Paris from the late 1860s through the 1890s. His microscope designs tended to resemble those made by the Chevaliers. A telescope made by this same optician also came up for auction in 2012 indicating that he also made telescopes in addition to microscopes. This historical information along with the overall design appears to date the instrument to circa 1870. I was hard pressed to fine any other examples of this particular model microscope in the microscope literature(Journal of the Royal Microscopical Society. Etc. microscope collection catalogues and availab
