Dont be taken in with recent listings by sellers who have copied my text almost word for word& also my CD.S Play safe! I also offer an expert `before& after` sales service on all your coin cleaning queries. I have been cleaning coins& artefacts for over 30- years& will be pleased to offer my advice. I only use the best& safest approved converters. Dont be tempted to D.I.Y. or buy the cheapest kit offered on Ebay! My mains powered kit can be used over& over again- No batteries! No charging! ideal for everyday use- just plug in& switch on- wait and watch those hard `difficult to remove` encrustations come away. Please note: I post 6- days a week by Royal Mail& Airmail! With this kit you only have to have one decent clean to get your money back! Transformer has 1- metre cable tails& a 3- pin plug for 100/240 volts mains supply and has a 5- volt output on the cleaning side so is completely safe in use. Mains supply means it is suitable for US. and European use in fact in most World countries. I will also include a FREE 2- pin mains adaptor for ALL non- UK buyers to suit their mains requirements. SAFETY FEATURES: The appliance is fully fused and is ISO9001: 2000& ANSI RAB accredited. It also carries a CE mark which asserts that the appliance meets all the essential requirements of all EU directives and complies with all essential health and safety standards. Cleaning by electrolysis is simply the reverse of electro-plating. By changing the leads over the polarity is reversed and the process removes the `crud` instead of adding metal. It is a safe& recommended cleaning process for all metals including gold. Silver&

WWII Leitz Wetzlar Ortholux Microscope 4 Obj Turret + Objectives Brass
This is an AMAZING set. Straight from Germany during WWII. This has a serial number of 360792, dating it to 1941-1945. It was owned by a doctor and medical school professor by the name of Ceelen. The microscope itself appears to be in excellent condition as it has very little cosmetic wear and no apparent damage. The electrical cord is a European model consisting of 3 prongs in a straight line, so I have no way to test this. If I need to go out and buy a travel converter, please let me know. Based on what I saw in the book(included) this appears to be for polarized light. The light source is at the back of the base. The light then shoots across the inside bottom and reflects up into where the slides go. This set comes with ALL KINDS of WWII era accessories including many different objectives. Some of which are brass and some of which are ... moreused for/with oil. As I'm sure you can tell by now, I am not a scientist of any kind and I don't really know that much about this item. All of the accessories appear to be in good, working order but this is used and some have normal use wear. Some heavier than others. This set includes the following, as far as I can describe: E. Leitz Wetzlar Ortholux Research Microscope with Four Objective Turret- Original manual/catalogue of accessories- Accessory: A 3-way piece of some kind that may be a single objective turret. On the side. Above the objective, there is another eyepiece. This comes in its original red, leather-bound case with clasp. Accessory: This is the piece in the light brown box. It has a telescoping 10x lens on one side and a clear lens on the other. There is a large silver dial on the side for adjusting. Accessory: This is a large. Cylindrical piece that appears to replace the 2-eye viewer with a single eye viewer. Accessory: Eye piece? This is a silver cylinder with lenses at each end. One end marked"10 X WIDE F. by B&L- Accessory: Another of the above. The screw-in side is slightly bent. Accessory: Another eye piece? This one marked 6XB- Accessor

France in the mid-19th Century. Featured here is a Nachet “Modele No. 9 Microscope Plus Simple,” which is the official catalogue designation for this microscope model. This is a nice, well-preserved ... moreexample of a relatively early Nachet microscope that will be highly prized by collectors. This instrument is signed on the right side of the bar limb that supports the body tube of the instrument. “NACHET Opticien, rue Serpente, 16, Paris”(see accompanying close-up image) Typical of all antique Nachet microscopes, there is no serial number and so dating any Nachet microscope can be somewhat difficult. However, the way that the instrument is signed, namely, “NACHET Opticien,” and the address of the company, “rue Serpente, 16, Paris,” indicate that the microscope was produced sometime prior to 1862, before the firm moved to a different address in Paris and at a time when the senior Camille-Sebastian Nachet was essentially the sole maker of his microscopes, i.e. before his son Jean Alfred joined him in his business. Given these important clues along with documented historical information about the firm, we can conservatively date this microscope to circa 1855. NOTE: For more information on the history of the Nachet firm. Please see below. Included with this listing for comparison with the microscope featured here is a catalogue cut of this model microscope extracted from my pe

Vintage Traveling Microscope, Philip Harris, Birmingham, England. Brass
Here we have a Vintage Venier Measuring'Traveling' Brass Microscope manufactured by Philip Harris. Birmingham, England. Background: Like a conventional microscope. A travelling microscope has a head fitted with lenses which can be used to magnify and focus on a small object. The head, however, is mounted on a slider which can be moved along a scale. With the object fixed in place, the head can be manipulated to take measurements of the object being studied. Classically, a travelling microscope uses a Vernier scale, a very precise type of scale utilized for scientific measurements because of its extreme accuracy and ability to measure very small increments. Although the traveling microscope is mobile, it has a number of moving parts and it can be fairly heavy. The scope itself is attached to a cast-iron base and it can be adjusted ... morewith as many as 3 screws. This is a wonderful example of a traveling microscope made by the high quality medical supplier of their day. Philip Harris, located in Birmingham, England. This instrument has a very heavy, japanned, cast iron base, with a calibrated brass traveling track for the scope to slide on. The compound scope has a 5" sliding tube within which is another 3-1/2" sliding tube that holds the ocular. The Brass objective does not have any power or length markings. The black moving carriage that slides along the track has a small venier scale. The carriage also alows for the scope tube to be adjusted in many different directions. There is a locking adjuster and an adjuster to set stop limits on the track. There are no cracks, breaks in this instrument. A very nice example to add to your collection. Please remember to leave Feedback. I will gladly reciprocate in return:

Antique 18th century brass compass microscope in fitted box
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE Offered for auction is a nice 18th century"compass" microscope. The"Compass Microscope" is named so because of the center hinge. Reminiscent of a drafting compass. It was used during the 18th century for inspecting small opaque objects such as fauna or flora. To use the instrument, the user would mount the specimen with the forceps and locate it just opposite the lens. The silvered reflecting Lieberkuhn mirror focuses more light on the top surface of the specimen. These microscopes were very popular as pocket field aids for naturalists. The microscope comes with a black leather coated case lined with green velvet. ANTIQUE Mathews Matthews London 1850s Bar Limb Brass Microscope
NO RESERVE.This is an ANTIQUE Matthews of London Brass Bar Limb Microscope.I am not positive of the date. But based on some research I would say it is a circa 1860s-70.It has a nice engraving that says Matthews Portugal Street London(see photos)The scope is LARGER and extended measures over 19 inches tall.It has a little lever on the lower rear of the main tube(near engraving) that seems spring loaded to raise and lower an internal lens or mechanism. It has some obvious aging to the brass.NO dings. It only has one focus knob, but when I look close at the rod on the other side it appears it may have been made this way.NO box.Overall still an unusual and interesting older scientific instrument.Buyer Pays Shipping. Large Antique c.1860 Victorian Brass Monocular Microscope
Large Antique c.1860 Victorian Brass Monocular Microscope Offered here is a large c.1860 Victorian all brass microscope. Closely resembles examples by Baker& Ross however I'm not finding a makers mark anywhere. The instrument stands on a massive"Y" shaped base with heavy uprights supporting the main body on trunnions. At the base is a large two sided mirror on gimbal. Minimum height 14-1/2" extending to 20-1/2" by rack and pinion and telescoping body tube. Weighs just over 9 pounds. Fine focus is mounted on pivoting arm, optics are clear with all lenses intact, tested with glass slide for clarity& focus(works great) All adjustments working smoothly including the sliding stage which moves in two directions, nothing stripped or broken. Issues~ Fine adjustment needs a part. Not broken but missing a small cam shaped ... morewasher located underneath arm. When I bought this today I thought the objective lens was missing, but found it when cleaning the optics(someone has stored it inside the tube body, apparently they did this because it's not threading) The male threads on the objective lens& the female threads on the tube look fine, they are not stripped and appear to be of the same type(I don't know why it's not fitting but I'm not messing with it) I have the first couple threads started just enough to hold the objective lens in place for the sake of taking pictures. Cosmetically the brass has lost most of it's original lacquer. There is light tarnishing across most of the surfaces and traces of brass cleaner in crevices. There are no dents or dings, no deep scratches or damaged parts. I'm not an expert on this type of thing, what I have learned was accomplished today doing research. There may be parts missing and repairs needed, view photos carefully and bid accordingly. ~ Thanks For Looking ~

This working Bausch& Lomb"Contintental" microscope was made in ca. 1897, so it is almost 120 years old. This microscope is a part of medical history. Microscope Body- Wonderful condition on the brass microscope body. It has a great patina though there are some blemishes and small defects. But all below the norm for a microscope of this age. It will probably look great once it is polished/cleaned, but I'll leave that determination to the new owner. Please look at all the pictures for exact condition of the body. All parts seem to move freely. I viewed an onion skin with#2 eyepiece and 2/3 ocular and it focused fine and edges of image were sharp ... moreand clear. On the inside of the door are 8 custom holders containing 3 lens cases for the microscope lenses and one of the eyepieces. One of those holders is either missing or is meant to fix something else. You can see in the pictures a small crack on one of the back corners. 1& 2 Eyepieces and 2/3. 1/6& 1/12 lenses. The#1 eyepiece + 1/12 lens gives a 900x magnification. vintage microscope for parts - heavy brass, Spencer? B&L? Steampunk? Mystery
Exact item shown- this microscope was in a workshop fire- I cleaned it up some hoping to find some markings or numbers that would let me know what brand it was- I found nothing- The base is cast iron. The rest is brass, the diaphragm on the condenser lens works, the lens is, as you can see damaged, the heat of the fire melted the solder that held the barrel in place, so this is good for parts, or you can make an interesting piece of sculpture out of it, or it can hold something(like maybe a modern USB microscope) that you want to adjust, or? I suspect it was originally all painted black, but that is a guess. The shape is pretty distinctive- if nothing else one could make an interesting display with it. I've set the starting price at scrap value, but this is too nice to scrap. Please ask questions before bidding. Check out my!

This all brass microscope model represents Spencer Lens Company’s early venture into the production of a microscope for use by medical students. It was designed primarily for use for medical ... morerelated research in the fields of Biology. Histology, Pathology, and Bacteriology. The microscope comes in its original wood cabinet. This instrument is signed in block letters on the rear of the horseshoe shaped foot. “SPENCER LENS COMPANY, BUFFALO, N.Y.” It also bears a very low serial number, “1798.” Based on published historical research related to this company’s microscope production, Spencer Lens Co. is known to have produced some 10,000 microscopes by the year 1909. However, most of the production records prior to the year 1909 have been lost. So dating the instruments by serial number is problematic prior to the year 1909. Nevertheless, we do have the assistance of a US Patent date engraved on the top of the limb under the milled head that controls the fine focus, “Pat. March 14, 1899”(see close-up image that shows this) This patent date refers to US Patent Number 621,196 that was granted to Hermann Zerngibl, Inventor, Buffalo, N.Y. on March 14, 1899 for improvements to the coarse and fine focus mechanisms used on this instrument. Thus, this microscope appears to date from 1899. Accompanying this listing is an image of this microscope model extracted from my perso

A James Smith First Class No.2 Stand - Antique Brass Microscope Pre Beck Non RMS
Apsley Antiques Shop categories. Welcome to our listing. James Smith's First Class No.2 Microscope. Click thumbnails to enlarge. Product Description. Offered for sale is a very good example of James Smith’s First class No.2 microscope in its original case with accessories. Signed along the foot‘Jas Smith London’ English Circa 1847. I say the date 1847 as the set comes with 2 objectives both with the Smith pre-RMS thread. There is only one objective can which is signed Smith& Beck. London. James Smith went into partnership with Richard Beck in 1847 when the name changed to Smith& Beck. This suggests that the microscope dates from around this period, however the microscope may be earlier and the lenses replaced later. The microscope is contained flat in the French polished mahogany case. It lifts out and the two feet fold back to ... moreform a very steady foot on which the microscope stands. In the centre is a circular brass plate made with a different mix of brass(more red than the rest of the instrument) with chasing below the lacquer. This supports the architectural like pillar which terminates in a compass type joint. This in turn supports the main body of the microscope. At the bottom is a long tubular support for the large mirror. The plano-concave mirror is supported on a collar that holds a gimbal into which the mirror sits. Above the mirror is the mechanical stage. Below the stage is a dove-tail slot to accept the sub-stage accessories. The mechanical stage has X& Y motion provided by rack and pinion. The centre of the stage can be fully rotated. The actual stage is very large and can be moved back and forth. At the rear is a pin to hold the stage forceps. The microscope body sweeps up to hold the main body tube with large course focussing wheels at the back. The body tube has a single drawer tube and fine focussing to the objective thread. The microscope comes with the following accessories: 1/5inch objecting& Can engraved Smith& Beck. 2/3inch objective. 2/3inch leiberkuhn. A high power e
