Offered here with no hidden reserve a Spencer Lens Co. microscope lens(I believe this is called an objective) in a brass canister. The canister is marked ... more16MM and has been expertly machined to house the lens it contains so that the glass at the end of the lens does not come in to contact with the bottom of the canister. The lens itself is marked Spencer Lens Co 41929. 4MMN AP.0.75. I would describe the condition of the piece as far as appearance goes as very good with expected fine scratches and nice patina. I have no way of knowing if the lens glass itself is functional but it appears to be unblemished. The overall approximate dimensions of the canister are: height- 1 3/4" diameter 1" top, 7/8" bottom. Please examine pictures and contact with any questions. Returns accepted within 3 days of receipt/inspection. Thanks for your interest.

For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Likely around 140 years old, so there is some wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. I am very pleased to offer this attractive antique binocular microscope by Charles Baker of London. A handsome. Stately presentation piece! This appears to be an early example of the bar-limb design first pioneered by Andrew Ross. As might be expected with a mechanical antique of this age. It is not in perfect, complete condition. Descriptions can sometimes be subjective. And details/ condition of mechanical antiques difficult to capture in photos. While I am passionate about antique microscopes and enjoy hanging onto them briefly as a hobby/ admirer. I am not able to yet call myself an expert so please review as well, and do not hesitate to ask questions/ request more photos. I have tried my best to thoroughly identify any issues/ notes based on a top-to-bottom visual review. 1. No box or other accessories included beyond shown in the photos(as is) 2. The adjustment knob controlling the vertical position of the scope works reasonably nicely between the highest and lowest position. Moves fairly smoothly and there appear to be no kinks in the treads(see photos) 3. The microsc

You are invited to purchase a superb(no exaggeration – please see the accompanying images) Joseph Zentmayer antique brass monocular microscope along ... morewith a dovetailed Walnut wood cabinet that houses the instrument. Featured here is a very nice example of Zentmayer’s famous “American Histological Microscope” that includes two(2) unique features for which Zentmayer was granted US Patent No. 181.120 on August 15, 1876. These patented features are: 1. A swinging substage mirror assembly, and, 2. A long lever fine focus mechanism housed in the limb. J. Zentmayer introduced this model microscope in the year 1876. Over the many years that it was manufactured. It proved to be one of his most popular microscope models – second only to his “U.S. Army Hospital Microscope.” Later on, in the year 1893, he introduced an improved version of this instrument known as the “American Columbian Microscope.” The two models appear similar and so they are often confused. The American Columbian Microscope model is distinguished from the earlier American Histological Microscope by a slightly larger stage, a somewhat broader and flatter “Y” shaped foot and the presence of the substage mirror mounted on a sliding dovetail bar at the end of the swinging substage assembly that also included a cylinder diaphragm. The earlier American Histological Micr

Antique brass early achromatic microscope by Chevalier in pristine condition
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique early achromatic Pritchard-form"transitional" brass microscope in pristine condition. Made in ~1840 by the renowned Parisian workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The microscope comes with the original mahogany case. Bull's eye condenser, tweezers and a set of early French-made slides mounted by the Bourgogne Brothers. History: This early achromatic microscope is mounted on a brass pillar with a compass joint that directly connects the support pillar to the limb of the microscope. This design is one known as the"Pritchard form" Which developed directly from the"Jones Most Improved" type of the late 18th century. During the period around 1830-1840 the English microscope was ... moreundergoing a rapid evolution from the non-achromatic instruments to the achromatic microscopes that became more common within the second quarter of the 19th century. During this evolutionary period, some of the microscopes that were produced are often now referred to as"transitional" that is, they represent a design that is midway between the older and newer forms. The microscope shown here is clearly one of these. Several early microscope manufacturers used this mounting method, including Andrew Ross, Andrew Prichard, and James Parkes& Son in England and Vincent and Charles Chevalier in France. In Andrew Prichard's Catalogue of Microscopes and the Jewel and Doublet Microscope extracted from his publication entitled, The Microscopic Cabinet of Selected Animated Objects" Similar mounting to that of the instrument featured here appears. The microscope is entirely mobile. It collapses into the compact mahogany case together with the usual accessories and can be carried easily. Although microscopes of this type are invariably unsigned. They are commonly attributed to the workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The last photo presents a page from the sales cat

Vtg Antique Brass & Cast Iron Microscope for Parts or Display c1920s
Vtg Antique Brass& Cast Iron Microscope for Parts or Display c1920s Description: This is an old microscope with a brass optics tube and cast iron support. It dates. I would guess, to the 1920s-40s period. It is non-functioning. The only thing I can get to work is the pivot screw on the base. I cannot see light when I look through the eyepiece. It is 8 1/2 inches tall. The two adjustment knobs appear to be plastic. No maker name that I could find- only USA on the base. The shipping weight is 2 pounds 6 ounces. Thanks for looking. Antique German Brass Microscope~R. Plagwitz ~Berlin ~Illuminator Mikroskop
Antique German Brass Microscope~R. Plagwitz ~Berlin ~Illuminator Mikroskop. Antique German'Illuminator Mikroskop' in original case. Marked R. Plagwitz. Berlin-Steglitz, No.534. Includes two eye-pieces, three different objectives with cases, one lens/condenser? unsure of purpose) and a'Moon' polarized lens. This microscope has a lighted feature with an on/off switch. Twin lights, however one has cracked glass. I don't know much about these things. So there may be something missing. Sold as found. The eyepieces and objectives look nice. The height adjustment knobs work well. The brass could use some polishing. Overall, this item does show it's age. I'm estimating this scope was made somewhere between the late 1920's-1930's. 100% Trusted eBay Seller since 1999* Payment Terms: PayPal preferred. However not ... moremandatory. Payment must be received within 7 days unless prior arrangements have been made. Thanks! Inkfrog terapeak. I000000.

STEAMPUNK BAUSCH AND LOMB BRASS AND COPPER MICROSCOPE
Hello and thanks for looking. What we have here today is a STEAMPUNK BAUSCH AND LOMB BRASS AND COPPER MICROSCOPE. Seriously. What mad scientist's lab would be complete without one of these babies. Mad in the early part of last century this microscope is built to withstand the most maniacal reanimated corpse, death-ray or any and all other meddling in things MAN WAS NOT MEAN'T TO KNOW! Constructed from cast iron. Brass, copper and other materials this microscope has"LSU" Botany" and the number"39" engraved onto the base. I have not made any attempt to clean it up as I frankly don't know enough about it not to be sure I won't damage it. But I believe that with some elbow grease it could be brought up to a very fetching glow. It should fit into a USPS Large Flat Rate box so shipping will be $17 anywhere ... morein the US of A.

Antique brass single to triple lens 18th century compass microscope
Due to some new priorities that I set. I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes, ranging between the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique"compass microscope" Probably dating to the late 18 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with one integral lens and two additional stacking button lenses. Providing altogether relatively very high magnification estimated ... moreat ~100X. The special specimen holder having the three prongs is paralleled by item R.M.S. No. 21 reviewed in Gerard Turner's book The Great Age of the Microscope. However. The model depicted there is different. The microscope has a nice ebony lacquered handle. But otherwise the finishing seems to be somewhat cruder than the usual for these. The case or etui that presumably accompanied it is missing. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment. By EMS(Express Mailing Service) PLEASE NOTE: sometimes items are held by the customs for longer periods of time. In the very unlikely case of a problem. Please do not open a case against me before contacting me first! Antique Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Solid Brass Microscope SN #26739 ~ Circa 1897
Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass Microscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. We do have a letter that was written to Bausch& Lomb to find out more information about the microscope. They ... moresent a reply which stated that they do not know to whom it was sold to, but it is circa 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. If you would like more pictures please let me know I will ship this scope FREE in the Continental United States PayPal only please If you have any questions please ask I strive for 100% approval so if you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback I will do returns in special situations Thanks for checking out my items. Many more to come in the future

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE BRASS OBJECTIVE No 7a. BY C. REICHERT, CIRCA 1880. I have the pleasure of offering for sale a divisible brass objective“No. 7 a” By C. Reichert, of Wien(Carl Reichert started microscope making in 1876) It was one of several objectives pertaining to a circa 1880 Reichert brass microscope. This is a rare button-type objective with RMS thread. By C. Reichert, of Wien. Each of its three sections carries its own lens. Using one, two, or all three sections together allows varying the magnification of the objective, from low to medium, to high. Button type objectives were a popular choice for low priced microscopes from the 1880s to the 1940s. But it was highly unusual for these objectives to feature the RMS thread. This thread makes them compatible with microscopes by other makers(including modern ones! ... moreThe objective is in very good condition for an item some 130 years old. Noticing partial loss of finish on the brass barrel(see pictures) Importantly, I see no defects in the lenses. This is a no return auction. Antique brass case-mounted aquatic / botanical microscope, early 19th century
Due to some new priorities I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes. All dating to the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique brass case-mounted Ellis-styled aquatic/ botanical microscope. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. Yet several features clearly assign it to France. It is very unique in terms of design, having two separate and ... moreparallel stands, one for the microscope and the other for the sample holder. This microscope features a variation on the theme of the"Ellis aquatic microscope" It collapses into the 15 x 9.3 x 5 cm mahogany case. Internally lined with red velvet. When mounted, the body tube is 9.5 cm long rising altogether(with the case) to 14.5 cm. Both the microscope and the parallel sample holder stem screw into two brass sockets at the top of the case. The microscope stage is sliding along the column for focusing. Below it. A 2.8 cm diameter single sided mirror is mounted on a typically French 8 shaped bracket screwed to the column(see the discussion here regarding this style) The original accessories include three lenses with different magnifications. A glass stage disk with a polished depression for observing pond fauna and flora in aquatic samples, brass tweezers, and a special mounting wrench for the rater primitive stage forceps. he microscope, its accessories, and the mahogany case are all in very good overall condition. It dates to the first half of the 19 th century. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment,
