Offered here with no hidden reserve a Spencer Lens Co. microscope lens(I believe this is called an objective) in a brass canister. The canister is marked ... more16MM and has been expertly machined to house the lens it contains so that the glass at the end of the lens does not come in to contact with the bottom of the canister. The lens itself is marked Spencer Lens Co 41929. 4MMN AP.0.75. I would describe the condition of the piece as far as appearance goes as very good with expected fine scratches and nice patina. I have no way of knowing if the lens glass itself is functional but it appears to be unblemished. The overall approximate dimensions of the canister are: height- 1 3/4" diameter 1" top, 7/8" bottom. Please examine pictures and contact with any questions. Returns accepted within 3 days of receipt/inspection. Thanks for your interest.

This is one of the more rare Bausch& Lomb American Type microscope models. It was only manufactured over just a brief 3-year period from 1889 to 1891. The featured instrument is very similar in design to the B&L“The Model” microscope. But it lacks the rack and pinion focus mechanism and is built upon a horseshoe shaped foot with rectangular pillars instead of the“Y”shaped foot with round pillars that characterized“The Model. This instrument bears the name of the manufacturer in fancy script on the top rear face of the circular stage. Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Please see the accompanying close-up image of this inscription) However, this instrument does not bear a typical serial number. For some unknown reason, Bausch& Lomb did not inscribe serial numbers on their earlier microscopes. Instead, they stamped the serial number of the instrument in the front lip of the floor of the wood case that they normally supplied with the microscope. Fortunately, the Cherry wood case that accompanies this instrument has the serial number stamped into the front floor of the case(see close-up image) The serial number“6890” dates the instrument to the year 1889, which plac

Nice uncleaned example. Glass is not broken and does move with the thumbscrew. Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 ... more7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Spencer Lens Co Microscope Buffalo, NY Brass and Cast Extra Lenses & Case NYU
Spencer Lens Co Microscope Buffalo. NY Brass and Cast with Extra Lenses and Case from NYU? Great example of an early 1900s microscope by Spencer of Buffalo. NY that I recently picked up at an estate sale. Still has a great look to it. Came in a nice wood framed case that the outside material is worn or coming off of. Case is still all intact, with carrying handle, hinges, and door. No key comes with the case. Serial number of 69870 is on the microscope. Site I looked up on the internet says this piece is from 1920 to 1921. The 3 turret microscope has a 10 mag lens at top and then the 10x. 44x and 95x lenses at the bottom. There is also a 6X and 5X mag lens for the top of the microscope in the case. The three lower lenses were in their metal cases still in the box originally. The mirror below that seems to be intact as well. I do not see where ... moreany of the lenses on the microscope are visibly cracked or missing the glass lens, certainly are dirty, so you would be buying this piece as is. But certainly no expert in microscopes, so you are buying as is. Ask any questions or request any pictures of items that are important to you before buying this piece. There is also some sort of metal attachment for the scope that is in its' own little case and marked Spencer Lens Co. that has a latch on it. What is really unique about this piece is the horizontal and vertical measuring device that is on the plate the glass slides lay on. The measuring device slide moves side to side with the screw that moves it. The one that moves the other scale top to bottom either needs adjustment or the screw is stripped. On the bottom. The piece is marked LV and then NYU, so presume this piece was once used at New York University. Mirror on bottom reflector piece is still there on both sides, but shows a lot of wear and tear. The brass components on the scope still look pretty good. There is some corrosion/rust on the cast metal part of the microscope. Most notably on the rear top of the base. The main plate the glass slide would lay on ap

Vnt Antique Bausch & Lomb Optical Co Brass Metal Slide Microscope Rochester N. Y
For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique brass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has ... morea round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Complete Brass Microscope in its Original Wooden Case. Great Britain, 1860.
Complete Brass Microscope in its Original Wooden Case. Great Britain. 1860. In Working Order Antique unsigned brass microscope made in Great Britain circa 1860. This is a beautiful device that works perfectly and comes in its original light wooden case. The microscope keeps all its original parts. And the objectives and magnifying glass are in excellent condition. The brass is as shiny as when the instrument was made, showing only very slight signs of the trace of time that just enhance its elegant presence. Inside the wooden box we also find a series of accessories and samples that together with the microscope make up a highly attractive set. The microscope stands on a light wooden plank and is supported by two solid black-enameled legs. This lovely article comes with an independent magnifying glass to concentrate light attached to a slim ... morestand. Also made of brass. The whole set boasts a stylized and singularly balanced design that differentiates it from the classical vintage microscopes we are used to see. The item has an objective and the typical oscillating mirror located under the sample plate; both pieces are in perfect condition. The original box designed to store the instrument is made of light colored wood. It keeps the metal handle attached to its top and at the bottom it has a small drawer containing the sample plates. The ones that come with this microscope are from the time when the instrument was made and keep different elements to be observed. At the top right corner of the box. A wooden stand with two circular openings holds the cylindrical metal cases designed to protect objectives. This magnificent microscope is surely a highly interesting piece because of its ancient age and original design. It is surely an article worthy of belonging to a museum of scientific devices from the 19th century. Measurements: Width: 170 mm. Height: 310 mm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Bid with confidence. We are professional antique de
NACHET ET FILS ANTIQUE BRASS MICROSCOPE RARE ANTIQUE EXAMPLE BRASS
I state first- I am up and don't really live or sleep on the sale of this item but it is a sweet microscope so control the nerdgasim. As far as I can see its all there- see the pictures for yourself- no cleaning in decades. I didn't look through it but all looks well on the piece- the box fits the microscope perfect and the brass shines like the first day of summer. so this is what I know about the piece. It is a NACHET ET FILS OF Paris Antique circa 1870 brass compound Microscope that is roughly 150 years old- give or take a decade. This is kinda a big deal as you are invited to purchase a very fine antique brass compound monocular microscope by Nachet et Fils of Paris along with a very nicely appointed Mahogany case that houses the instrument and accompanying parts- as far as I can see all parts. It is a Nachet’s“Petit Modele Droit” ... moreSmall Vertical Model) compound monocular microscope by best estimate. This is signed on the top rear of the solid brass foot. NACHET ET FILS, 17 Rue St. Severin, Paris. see photo)The microscope seems in exceptional shape- see photos. The address allows us to date the instrument to circa 1870. NOTE: For more details on the history of the Nachet product just search- this is a deal- if you look up things like"brass microscope" or“Maison Nachet et Fils Fabrique” tell me I am wrong- walk in a store that deals in vintage microscopes and leave with something like this for less than 2 grand- seriously- I move product- they will have a romantic involvement with this nerd focuser. 1880's Important Large English Brass Microscope 1880. Original Case
Important English Brass Microscope Made in 1880. Complete. In Working Order and in Original Case Big English brass microscope made in England in the late 19th century(year 1880) This beautiful antique instrument is in perfect condition and has been carefully restored. It is a very remarkable piece because of its fine design. And is complete and preserves all its original components. The microscope comes in its original wooden case and is accompanied by some spare pieces and samples on glass plates, prepared just when the microscope was first used. In essence, this wonderful vintage microscope and the pieces that come with it make up a highly interesting item. The microscope looks shiny. Neat and polished thanks to the careful restoration it has undergone. As well as the typical parts that usually conform these instruments, this one has also ... morea micrometrical adjustment system to move the samples: by turning the wheel to the right of the user he or she can move the samples from left to right, forwards and backwards so it does not have to be touched with the fingers. Like the rest of the microscope, this system is greatly preserved and works like new. The eyepieces. Objectives and the mirror located under the sample plate are original and have survived to our days in perfect conditions. The box designed to store the microscope is made of solid mahogany wood; it has been conveniently restored and boasts a beautiful satin finish, but the signs of the use and the trace of time have been preserved as a testimony of the instrument’s life and history. The upper brass handle is also the original one. Inside the box we can see a small wooden drawer designed to store some labeled glass plates with handwritten inscriptions in different colors. There are also some brass spare pieces. This striking vintage microscope is a museum piece because of its beauty and big size. Joining beauty in equal measure. Measurements: Width: 180 mm. Height: 470 mm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be gl

ANTIQUE BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. SOLID BRASS MICROSCOPE - Pat. Date 2/16/1897
The item up for sale in this auction is a Bausch& Lomb Optical Company Microscope. There is a patent date of February 2nd. 1897 on the micro focus adjustment wheel. I tested all of the lenses using a piece of paper with writing on it, each lens was able to get a fairly clear picture. The mirror does have some blemishes on it and some appear to be permanent. The frame of the microscope is all brass and is in pretty good shape. There is definitely some wear and tarnish on it but nothing major. I can't find any missing pieces and everything appears to be in really good working condition. The microscope will be shipped out in a wooden case along with a box of about a dozen glass slides. I don't think the case is original, but somebody obviously made it specifically for the microscope, so it should go with it. If you have any questions, ... moreI'll be happy to answer them. Large Double Pillar Antique, Brass Microscope – Signed G. Potter
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Beautiful Double Pillar Antique. Brass Microscope* With Engraved Signature(G. Potter) on the Scope* Stands about 19 inches high. And is fairly heavy(base appears to be iron) Please read the description in full. Review all photos and ask all questions prior to bidding. Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Likely over 100 years old(1800’s) so there is some minor wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. Overall. A very nice presentation piece. It is solid with a really neat. Functioning two-way mechanical stage. When I purchased this a couple months ago. It was covered in very stubborn layers of dust, grime and dirt. I correctly assumed that there was a beautiful microscope ... moreunderneath. The two knobs allow the stage to move fairly smoothly from side-to-side. And up and down. Although the knob that would otherwise adjust the scope/ tube is missing(see hole shown in photos near the Potter signature) It can be fairly easily slid manually(i.e. might be better as a presentation piece than a fully functioning microscope) The optics are not perfect. But in the highest position of the scope, you can view slides(but with limited range of adjustment) There is a screw missing from the pole that holds the mirror. But everything still holds sturdy. I also fully disassembled and cleaned with premium quality polish. Which took about six hours. The decision to polish an antique is a challenge and personal preference. Ideally. I like to avoid polishing, but in this case the original patina was too far gone. My purpose for buying this item was curiosity of what was under all that grime. The real benefit and fun of polishing something like this is revealing the neat scope in close to what it would have looked like in its original state over 100 years ago. As I have now satisfied this curiosity(and have very limited space) I am

RARE Circa 1870's French Brass Continental Microscope Constant Vérick E Hartnack
Vérick brass continental microscope– circa 1870's Constant Vérick advertised himself as a élève spécial de E. Hartnack(special pupil of E. Hartnack) both in the signatures he used for some of his instruments and in his catalogs. He apprenticed to Edmund Hartnack before going off on his own around 1877. By the mid 1870's he established his own firm where a number of different microscope models were produced. Among which is the continental style model presented here. The base of this meticulously constructed instrument is signed in elegant script, C. Vérick, élève special de E. Hartnack, rue de la Parcheminerie, 2, Paris" Please view photos carefully as they are a part of the description of this item. The original wooden case ha some cracks. It does however have the original key and working ... morelock. I believe there may have been a small mirror or lens that attached to the clip but I am not sure. Other than that I think everything else is here and there may even be a few extras that did not originally come with this microscope. The matching serial number on the wooden case and the microscope itself is#2754. This is a pretty low number.
Antique 19C Ross London #263 Brass/Black Microscope Objective/Lenses/Case
19th Century Ross of London#263 Microscope This piece is SO strange. The part on the top is the only piece that is marked Ross London#263 The lense down by the platform is marked Bausch& Lomb and the extra lense in the case is marked Spencer. So.I truly have no idea which one of these people made this microscope because I cannot find a mark on the scope itself. All of the parts that are marked are removable. This is how I purchased it. So this is how I'm selling it. Microscope stands about 13" tall at the shortest level. And extends to about 17" tall. There is a screw missing from the brass plate in the front of the platform. You get everything in the photos. Because I have no idea who made this or what the parts are. I have no idea the value, but I'm sure you do. If my price is to high, make me an offer. I'm cleaning ... moreout alot of items and they will be priced to sell. I'm ready to sell this so lets negotiate! FREE SHIPPING!

Antique brass early achromatic microscope by Chevalier in pristine condition
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique early achromatic Pritchard-form"transitional" brass microscope in pristine condition. Made in ~1840 by the renowned Parisian workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The microscope comes with the original mahogany case. Bull's eye condenser, tweezers and a set of early French-made slides mounted by the Bourgogne Brothers. History: This early achromatic microscope is mounted on a brass pillar with a compass joint that directly connects the support pillar to the limb of the microscope. This design is one known as the"Pritchard form" Which developed directly from the"Jones Most Improved" type of the late 18th century. During the period around 1830-1840 the English microscope was ... moreundergoing a rapid evolution from the non-achromatic instruments to the achromatic microscopes that became more common within the second quarter of the 19th century. During this evolutionary period, some of the microscopes that were produced are often now referred to as"transitional" that is, they represent a design that is midway between the older and newer forms. The microscope shown here is clearly one of these. Several early microscope manufacturers used this mounting method, including Andrew Ross, Andrew Prichard, and James Parkes& Son in England and Vincent and Charles Chevalier in France. In Andrew Prichard's Catalogue of Microscopes and the Jewel and Doublet Microscope extracted from his publication entitled, The Microscopic Cabinet of Selected Animated Objects" Similar mounting to that of the instrument featured here appears. The microscope is entirely mobile. It collapses into the compact mahogany case together with the usual accessories and can be carried easily. Although microscopes of this type are invariably unsigned. They are commonly attributed to the workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The last photo presents a page from the sales cat
