See pictures of what you will receive. Everything is being sold for parts/repair with NO returns. This stuff came in a box with something else that I ... morewanted. There was a meade camera mount in the box(that is in another listing) so the viewfinder may have gone with that telescope but I have no knowledge of telescope stuff. Use your own judgement! Viewfinder is combination of aluminum and plastic but looks to have gone with a mid range telescope and not a toy. The silver colored pieces to the left with the black wood tube are BRASS. To me it looks as there is a middle section missing from a one time telescope. Has end lens w/ cover and parts to eyepiece. The remaining items look to be Tasco toy junk with two Barlow lenses and an erecting eyepiece.

This came with a microscope owned by Archdeacon Francis Ernest Haviland, . He likely got it from his father Edwin Haviland (1823-1908). Both specialised ... morein the fertilisation of Australian plants and also worked at taxonomy and other branches of botany, and their contributions are mostly to be found in Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W. Acacia havilandii is named after them. This brass objective has no markings other than X24 is scratched on it. It might be from Paul Waechter, Berlin based on family similarities and another in the collection - but not sure. But judge for yourself. You can judge the physical condition from the photos. The lens is free of discoloration, scratches etc and works to my satisfaction. You may wish to clean carefully.

Vtg Japan 1500X Tiyoda Brass Microscope No.701 ~Lenses,Slides & Wood Case ~Rare~
Vintage 1920's to 1950's heavy brass Tiyoda microscope No. 701. Comes with 7x and 15x lenses as well as three objective lenses. See pics) This microscope is in good condition(at the least) Some mild paint chipping. Grime and a little greenish oxidation on some chrome surfaces is present- much of which can probably be removed with a little elbow grease! The microscope functions as it should. You just have to supply your own light source(mirror missing? There is an iris diaphragm type aperture at the bottom that allows you to let in as little or as much light as you would like! The original wooden box that has always accompanied it is also quite a marvel! It has two slide in racks(small chunk of wood missing from corner of one rack) for your eyepieces and lenses and even a hole in the bottom of the case where a bolt comes through to ... moresecure the microscope safely inside! Bolt is present(but not shown) and microscope will be secured in box this way along with additional shipping materials to ensure safe arrival to its new owner! Original. Unstamped"Table of Magnifications" card is present and included! It appears to be in very good(yellowed from age) condition! The box shows its age and there are probably other imperfections as well. Expect them. Also evidently missing some sort of lock and key assembly to the front door on box. Also including a modern slide set of 25 different things by Meade! I'm pretty sure this microscope is a rare specimen. So get it while you can! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Vintage Ernst LEITZ Wetzlar Brass Microscope - Very Nice Condition - Boxed
Vintage Ernst LEITZ Wetzlar Brass Microscope- Very Nice Condition- Boxed Ref: I am offering for auction this very nice Microscope. Manufactured by the famous maker LEITZ Wetzlar, who operated in Germany from the mid 19th Century. The instrument is marked ERNST LEITZ WETZLAR and carries the serial number 213040, which dates it to about 1923. This particular example is a Monocular Compound Microscope. Manufactured in Laquered Brass, on an Iron Base and Frame. The instrument comes with it's original Leitz Ocular eyepiece lens. Marked Ernst Leitz Wetzlar 4, together with one other unnamed lens marked 3. There are a few small specks of dust inside, so the lenses could do with a clean, but no scratches of any consequance or chips. The instrument comes with three threaded objective lenses. All original and marked marked E Leitz, Wetzlar. One ... moreis marked 3 and another 6, while the third is marked 1/12 Oel Immersion- Apert 1.3, which comes with it's original canister. All three objective lenses are a perfect fit, with all threads in good condition. As far as I can tell these lenses are also in good condition, but obviously they are very much smaller, so it is more difficult to tell. The microscope comes with it's original condenser. Which hinges under the stage, so can be rotated away from the line of sight(see Photos) The condenser has an adjustable"Iris" diaphram. The iris opens and closes by a sliding a knob and the condensor is raised and lowered by rotating a wheel(all work perfectly) There is another screw adjustment on the side of the condensor, the purpose of which I have not been able to work out, but I suspect it adjusts the intensity of light source. The stage is in good condition and has both original slide mounting clips. The whole microscope tilts from the vertical position through 90 degrees. The hinged joint has an adjustment to increase or decrease resistance. It currently holds unsupported to about the 45 degree position. But then falls under it's own weight to the 90 degree posit

Also, the table has a crack on the corner(photo#9) and one of the slide clips has minor plate wear near the screw. The three lenses that come with the scope are 1mm, 4mm& 16mm(all three are marked Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. The scope comes with two mirrors, but the extra mirror may or may not be a B& L mirror, so it may not fit the scope. The scope is marked: B. L. O. Co. PAT. DEC 1 08(photo#11. While the scope is patent dated 1908, I'm not sure what the actual manufacture date is. The opening the ... moreeyepiece fits in is marked: 89669 The wooden box/case is intact, but it has scuffs& scratches, finish wear and a there's a crack on the top(photo#3-the top is also slightly warped. This instrument ... moreis signed on the rear of the A-shaped brass foot. ROSS, LONDON. It also bears the serial number, 5330. Based on how this instrument is signed, the fact that it bears features(described in detail below) that were patented in 1876 and given the fact that it has angled rackwork associated with the coarse focus mechanism, we can conclude with a reasonable degree of certainty that Ross& Company likely manufactured this instrument in London in circa 1885. After Thomas Ross. The son of the founder of the Ross optical firm died in 1870, the famous English optician, Francis Wenham, joined Ross& Company as an advisor. Wenham devised a series of microscope stands as successors to the classic Ross stand originally contrived by Andrew Ross and improved by his son Thomas. In the late 1870s. There was a craze of sorts for swinging substages to allow very oblique illumination and incidental illumination above the stage. This craze was created by the American optician, Joseph Zentmayer, who first invented and ultimately patented his swinging substage assembly in 1876(US Patent No. 181,120) Ross& Co. communicated with Zentmayer regarding their possible use of this invention on

New York: Illustrated& Descriptive Catalogue of Optical Instruments c.1890 THE INVESTIGATOR MICROSCOPE In this stand I confidently claim to have reached a higher degree of perfection than is possessed by anyone approximating it in price. It combines. In a moderate-priced instrument, the features of a first-class and high-priced stand at no sacrifice of its working qualities. When contracted, it stands but 11 inches high, but can be extended to 18 inches. The base is of brass. And has the tripod form: pillar and arm of brass, connected by a solid joint, which allows inclination of body to any angle; rack and pinion for coarse adjustment, fine adjustment by our patent frictionless motion; main

Antique Brass Microscope by Powell & Lealand / Carpenter & Westley. Dated 1853.
With interesting presentation plaque to R. F. Carpenter. This microscope was originally designed as a Students microscope and is often called the“Iron” microscope in reference to its usual Iron stand and limb. This less common example is of solid brass construction and is marked to the foot“Carpenter& Wesley. 24 Regent Street. London” Presumably the microscope was made by Powell& Lealand and retailed by Carpenter& Wesley? The presentation plaque reads; Presented to the Revd. R.F.Carpenter by the Ladies of his congregation on the occasion of his Marriage. Birkenhead January MDCCCLIII” 1853) I have yet to discover if it is coincidence or if there was a relationship between Carpenter& Wesley and the Revd. R.F.Carpenter of Birkenhead. The microscope comes with a range of accessories including a large adjustable Bullseye lens on ... morestand. Cased Lieberkuhn. 1”1/2” Achromatic objective, 2 x liveboxes, substage accessories, spare eyepiece and other lenses etc. Mechanically sound with no issues. All moving parts operate smoothly. THE BEAUTIFUL MAHOGANY CASE IS IN NICE CONDITION AS SHOWN AND MEASURES 15 INCHES HIGH 10 INCHES WIDE AND 10.25 INCHES DEEP. IT ALSO ... moreCOMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL KEY. Antique Brass Microscope Edward P. Martin Co Chicago c. 1900 now Sargent Welch DESCRIPTION: Estate find- Harrisburg. PA. Measures 12” tall x 3.25” x 5" I know absolutely nothing about microscopes so I did my best to photograph. Research shows the Martin Company was eventually bought out(in 1910) by Sargent Welch. The part that moves is marked Bausch& Lomb. Super heavy- weighs over 5 pounds. For over 150 years. Sargent Welch has been supplying quality laboratory equipment and supplies for education at the best value, and streamlining the way schools and educators shop for science supplies. Here's how it started… During the time of the Gold Rush in 1849. Ezekiel H. Sargent. A young pharmacist from Boston, moved to Chicago to become a partner in a drugstore, selling assaying and prospecting equipment to gold prospectors passing ... morethrough on their way West. In 1852, he bought out his partners' share, and renamed his store E.H. Sargent& Company. In spite of the total destruction of his store in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Sargent's business prospered. Four years later, he moved from the northern edge of what was later to become downtown Chicago, rebuilt, and published his first catalog in 1875- the first recorded attempt at mail order solicitation in the laboratory supply business. In 1889. Sargent incorporated his business in Illinois. The sale of the drugstore in 1904 and the acquisition of Richards& Company, Ltd. a New York scientific equipment company, marked Sargent's total commitment to the laboratory supply business. In the years immediately prior to World War I, Sargent established research facilities and manufacturing operations that enabled the company to develop precision instruments. Sargent's efforts were devoted to manufacturing and supplying laboratory apparatus. Chemicals and instruments. In 1941. Sargent became the first laboratory supply company to open a branch warehouse that would better serve a growing chemical industry at the start of World War II. Sargent m

Antique ca. 1790 wood, bone & brass Withering-type case-mounted microscope
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. I sell now a small fraction of my collection of historical field microscopes in order to finance some new acquisitions. Offered here for auction is an antique late 18th century Withering-type case-mounted microscope. History: For a detailed historical review of William Withering and his microscopes. Please read pages 3-9 of my article, accessible here: The“Withering-type Microscope” is named for its inventor. Dr. William Withering(1741-1799) an English physician and botanist who graduated with a degree in medicine 1766 in Edinburgh. After graduation Withering was appointed physician at the Stafford Royal Infirmary. In 1775 Withering was appointed physician at Birmingham General Hospital. Inspired by the taxonomical work and systematic classification ... moreof Carl Linnæus(1707-1778) Withering applied the Linnaean taxonomical system of classification to British plants in a seminal, two volume work, A Botanical arrangement of all the vegetables naturally growing in the British Isles(1776) This work remained in use in thirteen subsequent editions. The last of which was published in 1877; thus functionally“surviving” its author by many decades. Withering advertised two major types of microscopes in the earlier volumes of this book, which he developed for the dissection of flowers. The last photo presents the microscope listed here, as depicted in the fourth edition of his book(1801) Descriptions of this microscope appear already in the second edition of 1792. Condition: Because these microscopes were made of sensitive materials. With hinges and folding parts, not many survived the over two centuries that elapsed since their production. This microscope is in very good condition for the age. The second(free) lens is missing. Otherwise. The microscope is very well preserved. You won't find many of these in auctions. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared

Circa 1885 You are invited to purchase a very nice(and quite rare) antique brass medium compound monocular microscope by Dumaige of Paris. This microscope comes in its original Mahogany wood clamshell case along with a set of optical ... moreaccessories. This instrument is signed in fancy script on the front face of the brass sleeve that holds the body tube. “ Dumaige. Constr. a’ Paris, 24, rue St. Merri- 323. ” The term. “Constr,” is an abbreviation of the word “Constructeur,” which is a French term that means in essence “manufacturer.” “Paris, 24 rue St. Merri” defines the location where the instrument was made. The relatively low serial number “323” indicates that this microscope is an early model by this French manufacturer, most likely from circa 1885. G. Dumaige was a French optician and scientific instrument maker who was active in Paris from about the year 1870 to around the turn of the Century in 1900. Dumaige is perhaps one of the lesser-known Paris-based opticians of the day. Dumaige shared the “opticians stage” in Paris with several other better-known opticians that included Nachet. Hartnack& Verick, as well as, others. From what I could find in the literature of the day, Dumaige is perhaps best known for a novel folding travelling microscope and a photographic microscope that he introduced in the 1890s. He is also credited with producing a good Camera Lucida and a novel spring-loaded objective hold
