For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Antique Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Solid Brass Microscope SN#26739 ~ Pat. 8-1897 Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass ... moreMicroscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. If you would like more pictures please let me know I will ship this scope FREE in the Continental United States PayPal only please If you have any questions please ask I strive for 100% approval so if you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback I will do returns in special situations Thanks for checking out my items. You are bidding on an old. Victorian like, antique brass and glass miniature field microscope with fitted box. Microscope seems to be in good working ... moreorder. Retains its original finish. Nice uncleaned example. Glass is not broken and does move with the thumbscrew. Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Antique German Brass Microscope~R. Plagwitz ~Berlin ~Illuminator Mikroskop. Antique German'Illuminator Mikroskop' in original case. Marked R. Plagwitz. Berlin-Steglitz, No.534. Includes two eye-pieces, three different objectives with cases, one lens/condenser? unsure of purpose) and a'Moon' polarized lens. This microscope has a lighted feature with an on/off switch. Twin lights, however one has cracked glass. I don't know much about these things. So there may be something missing. Sold as found. The eyepieces and objectives look nice. The height adjustment knobs work well. The brass could use some polishing. Overall, this item does show it's age. I'm estimating this scope was made somewhere between the late 1920's-1930's. 100% Trusted eBay Seller since 1999* Payment Terms: PayPal preferred. However not ... moremandatory. Payment must be received within 7 days unless prior arrangements have been made. Thanks! Inkfrog terapeak. I000000.

It was manufactured in France circa 1875. Although it is unsigned. This style of microscope, with a green lacquered brass base, two stylized pillars was manufactured by Radiguet& Fils in France. Due to some new priorities that I set. I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes, ranging between the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique"compass microscope" Probably dating to the late 18 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with one integral lens and two additional stacking button lenses. Providing altogether relatively very high magnification estimated ... moreat ~100X. The special specimen holder having the three prongs is paralleled by item R.M.S. No. 21 reviewed in Gerard Turner's book The Great Age of the Microscope. However. The model depicted there is different. The microscope has a nice ebony lacquered handle. But otherwise the finishing seems to be somewhat cruder than the usual for these. The case or etui that presumably accompanied it is missing. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment. By EMS(Express Mailing Service) PLEASE NOTE: sometimes items are held by the customs for longer periods of time. In the very unlikely case of a problem. Please do not open a case against me before contacting me first! You will be provided with the tracking number to follow the item and I will sort out any delay and refund you in full in case of any reasonable loss. Please be patient. As it is beyond my powers to control the customs in your country. In my experience, usually there are no problems of this kind but here and there they may occur. Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass Microscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. 1897. We do have a letter that was written to Bausch& Lomb to find out more information about the microscope. They ... moresent a reply which stated that they do not know to whom it was sold to, but it is circa 1897. Then put the cap back on,and put it to the light. The manual indicated that it was copyrighted in 1927 by S.L.S. in New York, but printed in France. There are a couple of nicks on the side, and there are some tears in the paperwork, but, over all, it is in pretty good shape.
Due to some new priorities I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes. All dating to the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique Gould type microscope. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with two objectives. A Huygenian ocular, three French small slides(one broken) and a nice lacquered mahogany box lined with blue-purple velvet ... moreinside. The microscope is most likely English. Dating to the 1830-40s and it is unsigned. Made of polished lacquered brass and standing mounted in the top of the dovetailed fitted mahogany case, the body tube screws into an arm at the top of the heavy rectangular column. The column has a compass joint at the bottom to incline the microscope for use and a large threaded fitting to screw the column into a brass plate in the top of the box. The stage focuses by pinion drive on a rack cut into the back of the column. A one sided mirror is mounted on an adjustable bracket below the stage. The last photo. Of the head of a flea from one of the three slides, was taken under the highest magnification of this microscope using the original optics. The optical quality of this microscope is quite remarkable and it is much higher than that of the common Cary-Gould models. The microscope has three magnifications: the lower magnification objective is permanently attached to the bar(I did not attempt to"plier" it off) This way, the instrument can be used as a single microscope. With the addition of the tube, a mid-range magnification is achieved. When the second objective is attached t

ANTIQUE BRASS J ZENTMAYER Monocular MICROSCOPE PAT DATED AUG 1876 HISTOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION Here is a beautiful antique brass J Zentmayer microscope with patent date Aug 1876. Everything is shown in the images. The base is marked with J Zentmayer and patent date see images. I do not know much about microscopes. So I will describe to the best of my ability. This is a beautiful antique microscope made by the well know Joseph Zentmayer. from the internet: He was born in Germany. In 1826, Zentmayer emigrated to the United States, as a young man, already trained in optics and instrument making. He went into business in 1853, in Philadelphia, making his first large stand, the Grand American) around 1858. Over several decades, Zentmayer turned out a great variety of stands, from the elaborate"American Centennial" to the smaller"American ... moreHistological" and, earlier, the"United States Army Hospital" stand. Zentmayer's business remained in Philadelphia until his death in 1888, and, was carried on by his sons into the mid-1890's. The microscope is monocular. I believe it is a histological scope and is missing the mirror assembly that attaches under the platform and lenses. The previous owner made this into a kaleidoscope of some sort, so when you look into it you see a kalaidoscope pattern, this fitting slips right out. The microscope makes a beautiful display and could be used for parts or possibly restore, so it is being sold as is. A beautiful microscope to add to your collection. This is a Antique E. Leitz brass microscope. The microscope has many polished brass parts and it appears to me to be complete and original. But I am not familiar with microscopes so please view the pictures to judge for yourself. Included is some original accessories, including 2 brass cases for the lenses, and some sort of brass rod with a threaded end. The case included does fit the microscope, but I do not be-leave it to be original to the scope, it looks like a newer case used to keep the microscope safe. Still a great collector and conversation piece for any medical collector. All parts on the microscope move freely and smoothly, and nothing appears to be broken, bend, or repaired.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE ELEGANT VICTORIAN BRASS BULLS-EYE CONDENSER I have the pleasure of offering an elegant Victorian brass bulls-eye condenser for the microscope. A stand-alone condenser was an indispensable accessory for working with the limited light sources available to Victorian microscopists. Some microscopes had a bulls-eye condenser attached to the microscope tube by means of an articulate arm; those that didn’t. Which were in the majority, depended on the help of condensers as the one offered here. This condenser consists of a base. A pillar, an arm, and an intermediate piece that connects the arm with the pillar. The weighted base is 8 cm wide, and shows decorative circles on its upper surface. The pillar is 20.4 cm tall; the arm is 13.7 cm long and holds the brass ring that encircles a lens 5 cm in diameter. ... moreThe horizontal intermediate piece is 5 cm long and has a milled-head knob at each end. The function of the intermediate piece is to hold the arm at the desired height, and to secure the lens at the desired angle(please, see pictures) The whole can be easily taken apart for storage or shipping. The condition of the brass is very good to excellent for an object more than 100 years old; noticing some light surface corrosion in a few small spots(see photographs) The lens is in perfect condition. This is a no return auction. Please see the photographs and ask questions before bidding. Thanks and good luck!

Ernst Leitz. Wetlar Germany very early brass microscope. According to the serial number 13329, this mic r o s cope was manufactured in 1889(see J. Grehn. 1 977 Leitz Microscopes for 12 5 years) Muse um quality antique and the oldest I have ever seen offered for sale. This item purchased from the estate of a scientist in New Zealand. PRICED TO SELL- NO RESERVE.
Very Good condition. J.W. Queen& Co. Philad engraved on tray along with a number 1193. All glass is good and it's all working and intact. Only some paint chipping from steel base. Not sure if number is model number but it looks to be from mid 1800s.
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is a unique and very interesting antique brass single lens microscope. Probably made in the mid-19th century. The microscope comes with a nice case. I don't know if it originally belonged to it(but this way I bought it) I add to it two contemporaneous small frame French-made slides mounted by the Bourgogne Brothers. The last photo is of a flea from one of these slides, as seen through this microscope. There are several similar microscopes in existing collections(like that of the Royal Microscopical Society) But none is identical. It seems that such field microscopes were made in small numbers and with great variability. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Antique Brass Microscope Marked Depose- Made in France? This is an antique brass microscope. The only marking seen is on the small brass dial on the base. Marked"Depose. According to our research, this may indicate that it is French. It stands approximately 10 3/4" tall. The base has a ball joint which enables this microscope to be tilted to the side. The socket for the ball joint has a piece of metal missing out of the side, though it is still stable and functional. Telescope shows overall wear such as scuffs, scratches, and loss of metal finish as a result of age and normal use. Optics are not functional- it just looks black when you look through the eyepiece. This is an old Ernst Leitz brass microscope that comes in a wooden case with three extra lenses. Pull-out lens and slide holders and an unopened box of newer O-I glass slides. Microscope made in 1927 and is in working condition- the kids were looking at pond water and could see all sorts of microscopic organisms in it. Very nice condition with no damage, the brass could use a polish if you want it to be shinier and it is missing one of the slide holders, but works fine with the one that it does have. Original box is nice with a bit of light wear to the finish. Eyepiece is by Leitz(6X) as are the extra lenses. Check out our other auctions this week for more machine shop tools. Antique brass monocular microscope for parts or restoration. I don't know much about it but will describe what I see. It is marked"No. 250 A. Krufs( or Kruss? I think) Hamburg" The long piece measures 9 1/4" It attached to the base by a brass'ring' This'ring' is broken from the base but it is a"clean" break and could probably be repaired in the right hands. The'lens' where you look into has some spots(probably needs cleaning from the inside) and the lens in the end of this piece is loose. It will not come out but you can make it sit one way or the other. see pictures) The base is 3" in diameter and is weighted. From the bottom of the base to the highest point is 5" The small wheel on the side moves the top of the platform up and down and the wheel at the back moves a piece with ... moredifferent size holes that is between the 2 platform pieces. They both work fine. The top part of the cylinder piece has some use wear and the bottom part has a small dent. Unusual microscope! Maybe you can restore it or use it for parts. Please check out the pictures for a better idea of condition and e-mail with any questions.
Sally's Cellar is very pleased to offer one of my favorite finds. a Bausch& Lomb brass microscope with a Spencer Lens(4 mm) stored in an excellent wooden box made for the microscope! Whew! Up for sale by auction-1897 Bausch and Lomb Microscope with a Spencer Lens(both microscope and the lens have ID# This piece is made of brass and black covered metal(not sure) handle and the horseshoe shaped bottom holder Gorgeous brass plate with beautiful oxidation and antique character-Missing a few items that can be easily replaced. Missing the 2 clips that hold the glass lenses. The number of the box is different than the microscope, just one lens on the microscope but there is room for a second one to be attached, also missing the mirror underneath the brass plate. Because Bausch% Lomb is still in business and there are parts for sale for most ... moreevery type of machine. I think you can find the pieces you wish to add. Our policy is to keep pieces we sell in the same condition in which we found them. The wooden box that houses this microscope is absolutely gorgeous. The color is beautiful. The design of the dovetail corners is just excellent craftsmanship. There is not a key for the door. I will keep looking through my sample keys this week: Why do you think there are numbers on the microscope or the box? You are right. due to inventory! We think this must have been used in a medical school due to the times. or perhaps a very wealthy school district? This piece of Science'past' Is in great shape! Just needs few things added if you wish it to have more parts. It also would be a fabulous conversation piece! How cool would it look in your half bathroom or near a wet bar or on a shelf in a book case or in an office. Owning a primitive(made before 1900) microscope that is brass with a gorgeous patina is cool.
