There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. This“decommissioned” microscope is still in working condition and appears to be sound and tight with dirt and grime and an old inventory plate. It measures app. 13” tall x 6 ¾” wide table x 7” deep and features heavy cast iron frame with the balance in black finished solid brass. The eyepiece is 10x and the other 3 are marked 10x; 44x; 95x as well as 1.8; 4; and 16. I see no damage to the optics. Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass Microscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. We do have a letter that was written to Bausch& Lomb to find out more information about the microscope. They ... moresent a reply which stated that they do not know to whom it was sold to, but it is circa 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. Then put the cap back on,and put it to the light. The manual indicated that it was copyrighted in 1927 by S.L.S. in New York, but printed in France. There are a couple of nicks on the side, and there are some tears in the paperwork, but, over all, it is in pretty good shape.

Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique Gould type microscope. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with two objectives. A Huygenian ocular, three French small slides(one broken) and a nice lacquered mahogany box lined with blue-purple velvet ... moreinside. The microscope is most likely English. Dating to the 1830-40s and it is unsigned. Made of polished lacquered brass and standing mounted in the top of the dovetailed fitted mahogany case, the body tube screws into an arm at the top of the heavy rectangular column. The column has a compass joint at the bottom to incline the microscope for use and a large threaded fitting to screw the column into a brass plate in the top of the box. The stage focuses by pinion drive on a rack cut into the back of the column. A one sided mirror is mounted on an adjustable bracket below the stage. The last photo. Of the head of a flea from one of the three slides, was taken under the highest magnification of this microscope using the original optics. The optical quality of this microscope is quite remarkable and it is much higher than that of the common Cary-Gould models. The microscope has three magnifications: the lower magnification objective is permanently attached to the bar(I did not attempt to"plier" it off) This way, the instrument can be used as a single microscope. Mahogany wood case with a carrying handle and lock mechanism. The matched grain pattern on the door is lovely. The angled dove tail joints are tight and strong, door hinge is too and the great brass handle. I have never seen hardware like this. Would love to know where it was made, USA, Germany Sweden? Inside the case are several wood racks designed to hold the eyepieces and objective lenses, etc. In addition, there is a pullout accessory drawer with sliding lid inside the case. There are several items inside, storage slides, case with lid and clear slides, several vials and the bright mirror, flat and concave. The microscope is long gone, but the box was worth collecting, it is really nice. Box and items ... moreshown only. Fine box is 13 1/4" tall. 7" wide, and 8 1/4" deep 6 lb 9oz. All original hardware and finishes seem to be old, brass great patina! No key(sorry) for the lock and the hook latch works to secure the door. This is a beautiful antique microscope made by the well know Joseph Zentmayer. from the internet: He was born in Germany. In 1826, Zentmayer emigrated to the United States, as a young man, already trained in optics and instrument making. He went into business in 1853, in Philadelphia, making his first large stand,the Grand American) around 1858. Over several decades, Zentmayer turned out a great variety of stands, from the elaborate"American Centennial" to the smaller"American ... moreHistological" and, earlier, the"United States Army Hospital" stand. Zentmayer's business remained in Philadelphia until his death in 1888, and, was carried on by his sons into the mid-1890's. The microscope is monocular. I believe it is a histological scope and is missing the mirror assembly that attaches under the platform and lenses. The previous owner made this into a kaleidoscope of some sort, so when you look into it you see a kalaidoscope pattern, this fitting slips right out. Here we have 3 Vintage Brass Microscope lenses made by Bausch& Lomb. Brass lenses come with brass canisters. Each canister features a screw on lid. One canister reads"Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. 3/4" This canister comes with a Bausch& Lomb lens marked"3/4" also. A second canister reads"Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. 1/5" This canister comes with a Bausch& Lomb lens marked"1/5" A third canister only has the marking"1 1/2" However the brass lens inside this canister reads"Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. 48mm" This canister has a great deal of wear. Overall these pieces are in really good condition for their age. Great items with no reserve.

Vintage old 1900's Bausch and Lomb Microscope. Brass. Needs a little polishing. This is the 2 lens model. Not 3. Lens is a 10x and 43x Nice clips for the slide. And slide area is clean. All parts move nicely and tight. Nice black enamel finish with the brass highlights. Mirror intact, swivels and holds nice and secure too. Comes with original Wooden box. Does not lock. And is old so the door doesnt close tight. Dovetailed box, nice and sturdy. Measures 14" high by 6" wide and 8" deep. Microscope slides nicely into it. Box has the original lens and slide wood holders too. And they slide in and stay secure nicely as well. A nice old unit great for nostalgia. Decoration, etc. It does work. Antique Early 1900's E. Leitz Wetzlar Polished Brass Microscope w/ Case + More
This is a Antique E. Leitz brass microscope. The microscope has many polished brass parts and it appears to me to be complete and original. But I am not familiar with microscopes so please view the pictures to judge for yourself. Included is some original accessories, including 2 brass cases for the lenses, and some sort of brass rod with a threaded end. The case included does fit the microscope, but I do not be-leave it to be original to the scope, it looks like a newer case used to keep the microscope safe. Still a great collector and conversation piece for any medical collector. All parts on the microscope move freely and smoothly, and nothing appears to be broken, bend, or repaired.

Up for action is a c.1800s antique brass microscope made by Lucern&Co. Model#2246 Ocular piece and lenses are by Bausch&Lomb. One lens is marked 16mm 0.25 and the other one is 1/5. Ocular piece and microscope height are adjustable. Specimen table has a rotary wheel with for different openings and a lighting mirror underneath. Microscope stands approximately 12" tall. Probably made in the mid-19th century. The microscope comes with a nice case. I don't know if it originally belonged to it(but this way I bought it) I add to it two contemporaneous small frame French-made slides mounted by the Bourgogne Brothers. The last photo is of a flea from one of these slides, as seen through this microscope. There are several similar microscopes in existing collections(like that of the Royal Microscopical Society) But none is identical. Antique Brass Microscope Marked Depose- Made in France? This is an antique brass microscope. The only marking seen is on the small brass dial on the base. Marked"Depose. According to our research, this may indicate that it is French. It stands approximately 10 3/4" tall. The base has a ball joint which enables this microscope to be tilted to the side. The socket for the ball joint has a piece of metal missing out of the side, though it is still stable and functional. Telescope shows overall wear such as scuffs, scratches,and loss of metal finish as a result of age and normal use. Optics are not functional- it just looks black when you look through the eyepiece. This is an old Ernst Leitz brass microscope that comes in a wooden case with three extra lenses. Pull-out lens and slide holders and an unopened box of newer O-I glass slides. Microscope made in 1927 and is in working condition- the kids were looking at pond water and could see all sorts of microscopic organisms in it. Very nice condition with no damage, the brass could use a polish if you want it to be shinier and it is missing one of the slide holders, but works fine with the one that it does have. ANTIQUE A. KRUSS No. 250 BRASS MONOCULAR MICROSCOPE for Parts or Restore
Antique brass monocular microscope for parts or restoration. I don't know much about it but will describe what I see. It is marked"No. 250 A. Krufs( or Kruss? I think) Hamburg" The long piece measures 9 1/4" It attached to the base by a brass'ring' This'ring' is broken from the base but it is a"clean" break and could probably be repaired in the right hands. The'lens' where you look into has some spots(probably needs cleaning from the inside) and the lens in the end of this piece is loose. It will not come out but you can make it sit one way or the other. see pictures) The base is 3" in diameter and is weighted. From the bottom of the base to the highest point is 5" The small wheel on the side moves the top of the platform up and down and the wheel at the back moves a piece with ... moredifferent size holes that is between the 2 platform pieces. They both work fine.The top part of the cylinder piece has some use wear and the bottom part has a small dent. Unusual microscope! Maybe you can restore it or use it for parts. Missing the 2 clips that hold the glass lenses. The number of the box is different than the microscope, just one lens on the microscope but there is room for a second one to be attached, also missing the mirror underneath the brass plate. Because Bausch% Lomb is still in business and there are parts for sale for most ... moreevery type of machine. I think you can find the pieces you wish to add. Our policy is to keep pieces we sell in the same condition in which we found them. The wooden box that houses this microscope is absolutely gorgeous. The color is beautiful. The design of the dovetail corners is just excellent craftsmanship. There is not a key for the door.
