Fine antique 1800's brass Bausch& Lomb Microscope ~! Wonderful antique 1800's Bausch& Lomb microscope. I purchased this from a former Dartmouth College professor. Now in his eighties, who told me that this microscope belonged to his father. All original, as found, needs a bit of restoration and cleaning. Overall in wonderful condition. This is a rare base.not your typical flat cast iron base. I have been unable to locate the same style microscope. A Large Antique Tube Shaped Brass Microscope c1880
This antique microscope I think dates to around 1880. The microscope is made of brass and is a tube type construction and has nice patina with age as shown in the photos, the microscope is quite large measuring around 10 inches high and is in good working condition, there is a detachable extra magnifying lens on the front and there is an adjusting knob on the side, the microscope is in good condition just a bit of spotting on the glass mirror at the bottom and slightly tarnished with age

Focus and Fine Focus work, Mirror spins and revolves, Diaphragm blades open and close easily and look very good, lower stage goes up and down smoothly, tilt works fine, turret revolves just fine. Offered for sale is a very fine example of a Whale-Limb microscope by Swift 7 Son. London. The microscope uses a mechanism to incline the body tube based on a design by George Whale of New York. Rather than using trunnions, as most microscopes did, this microscope slides on a semi-circular groove. When the desired angle is reached the microscope is locked into position using the large wheel at the side. The microscope stands on a machines cast brass base with the Whale mechanism at the top supporting the main limb of the instrument. At the bottom is a column that holds the plano-concave mirror in a gimbal. Above this is the stage. These rare microscopes were only made from 1906 to 1926. Microscope described as follows: Brass microscope with Rough adjustment with rack and Pinion. Fine adjustment with micrometer screw with 0.25 mm Slope. Extendable tube. Divided in mm. two-piece condenser Vertical movement of the condenser by Side screw. Both shutters open and close perfectly. For your consideration is a beautiful. Brass, Bausch and Lomb microscope. We are not microscope experts, but it appears complete and in very good condition. It has a bit of the surface enamel missing from the stage(pictured) and the locking mechanism on the original mahogany wood case does not work- I believe it just needs a magnet to be replaced to function properly. Overall, though, this rare antique microscope and case are in very good condition. Estimated age- unknown. patent Dec 1 08- 1908 Revolving two lens. 4mm and 16mm. Both work. About 7.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches across, 3.25 inches deep. Solid heavy metal with classic brass parts and accents. Includes a specimen magnifier which is also very rare. 2 extra objective lens. Also includes wood case. There is wear and a crack in the cover of the case. I believe it is German made. Most likely over 100 years old. Overall. A unique antique. An antique monocular compound Microscope by T Cooke of York. About 1860. Made of Brass and in its own fitted Mahogany Box. Two eyepieces and two objective lenses, whose power can be changed by adding/ removing elements. Live specimen holder. This Microscope does have some faults, namely, the bulls eye for illuminating specimens from above is missing and the slot at the front of the box probably held tweezers, which are missing. The adjusting/focusing knob does not work as it should, sometimes it slips and the tube moves down and other times it feels as though it catches, so some attention/ repair is needed here. The lenses are all good and it does give a respectably crisp and magnified image. The box is 11 x 6 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches and the Microscope stands about 12 inches tall withe the tube at midway height. This is a wonderful Spencer vintage microscope with a polarizing circular rotating stage with mechanical xy adjustment. This is a very hard to find model and appears to be in very nice condition and stands about 13" tall. It has three Spencer objectives: 4mm N.A.P.O.66. 18mm N.A.O.25, and a 32mm. Thomas) microscope. it is made from thick brass and is an extremely heavy piece. it is marked on the base by maker and has a serial number in the back"52826" it is a very intense piece with lots of mechanical movable parts. all parts move freely and work good. it is a very precise instrument and very well made. it has a beautiful cow bone handle on the side as well. everything seams to be in working order with no damage. It has a Dual sided mirror one magnified.It has a revolving turret for 3 lenses and They are marked: 1/12, 1/6, 2/3. three lens objective, rectangular stage& condenser. Teledcope Viewfinder, Brass/Wood Telescope Barlow Lens Tasco Microscope Eyepiece
See pictures of what you will receive. Everything is being sold for parts/repair with NO returns. This stuff came in a box with something else that I wanted. There was a meade camera mount in the box(that is in another listing) so the viewfinder may have gone with that telescope but I have no knowledge of telescope stuff. Use your own judgement! Viewfinder is combination of aluminum and plastic but looks to have gone with a mid range telescope and not a toy. The silver colored pieces to the left with the black wood tube are BRASS. To me it looks as there is a middle section missing from a one time telescope. Has end lens w/ cover and parts to eyepiece. The remaining items look to be Tasco toy junk with two Barlow lenses and an erecting eyepiece.

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false This is an antique brass microscope from C Baker of 224 High Holborn. London. It has three objectives, two eyepieces, and measures 12” in height. It appears to be in good working condition, and all knobs and gears move freely. The cabinet is walnut(or mahogany? and is tagged with a Broadhurst Clarkson& Co logo(also from London) The cabinet is probably not original but nicely fits the C Baker microscope. As shown in the photos, the cabinet has a holder for the brass objective cases. The handle for the cabinet has likely been replaced, as indicated by a different set of screw holes(see photos) and the bottom struts have come unglued. There is no key for the cabinet lock. 2 Antique Brass Adjustable Bausch & Lomb Optical Microscope/Camera Lens
Here are two antique brass Bausch& Lomb optical lenses. We have no idea what these are used for but thought a microscope or camera. Hopefully you will know! The larger one stands 5 1/8" high and is a tad over 2 1/2" around the largest area. It is marked with"Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. 518011" The smaller one stands 4" high and is about 2" across the widest area. It is marked with"Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. 480236" They both are in need or parts or repair and a good polishing. Both are missing lenses at the bottom end or at least some other piece. The larger one adusts upwards but you have to push it back down by hand. There is green showing through and/or wear to the black finish/paint portion at the top. The smaller one. You cannot adjust, the pin to the wheel seems to ... morebe frozen but you can manually pull it downwards. There is also some black paint/finish wear plus there is what looks like solder at that bottom rim. We are selling these the way we received them. Unfortunately we do not know much about them but hopefully you can see their condition with the photos. The larger one seems to be in very good condition while the smaller one needs more work!

Henry Crouch Signed Brass Microscope Objective Lens & Case 1860's/70's - Rare
This is an antique Henry Crouch brass microscope lens(objective) in a lovely brass cannister with old-style script writing on the top and numerals on the bottom. Circa 1860's or 70's. 1in- H. Crouch London" is engraved on the lid of the cylindrical case. The bottom of the case is engraved a number 1 over number 5. The lens is approximately 3/4" in diameter at the threads. Length is approximately 1 11/16" from end to end. The case is approximately 1 9/16" high and the diameter is 1 1/8" The brass cap is threaded and fits nicely. Review all photos in their largest resolution for best visual examination. I ship promptly and pack carefully. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

All moving parts move as they were originally attended to, it comes with what is shown in pictures so please look at them carefully, the case does have many areas where it it shows wear and some the material needs to be re attached to bottom of case.
