For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Double-sided mirror, illuminator which is a Beck and Kassel made in Germany. bulb works.Also has a small container with a blue glass and i believe the other is a dark ground stop. as well as a third glass that was already there in microscope. see photo#7.there is also a bracket, i assume for mounting under the stage not sure. Wooden case has label on inside of Bausch and Lomb. The case has a holder on side for objectives with cases. hold 10) the case does have a crack in the back see photo's and is dirty.Dusty with marks towards the bottom edges. microscope does need cleaning. has usual wear marks from usage. this was stored for many years in basement. belonged to my mom who was a med tech. when i looked up the serial# it is from 1923. microscope and case is very heavy over 23 pounds. Antique Brass Microscope Marked Depose- Made in France? This is an antique brass microscope. The only marking seen is on the small brass dial on the base. Marked"Depose. According to our research, this may indicate that it is French. It stands approximately 10 3/4" tall. The base has a ball joint which enables this microscope to be tilted to the side. The socket for the ball joint has a piece of metal missing out of the side, though it is still stable and functional. Telescope shows overall wear such as scuffs, scratches,and loss of metal finish as a result of age and normal use. Optics are not functional- it just looks black when you look through the eyepiece. Up for sale is a very nice Emil Busch A. G. Rathenow jug handle microscope. This German made microscope is in very good condition. The mirror is in good condition. The iris works well, and the condenser is clear- see photos. The serial number is 10358. The microscope comes with three ocular lenses marked 2, 3 and 4, and the three objectives are marked E 4mm, 2, 1/12 01-Jm 2mm. The microscope comes with a very nice oak box(no key) The box has a crack in the back but is mostly in good condition. Look through the pictures and ask questions. I don't know much about this particular maker and have not seen many microscopes by Emil Busch A. G. Rathenow. This is a wonderful fully functional microscope and will make a great addition to any collection.

vtg Antique Ernst Leitz Brass Microscope w/ Case & Extra Lenses 1927 Works Fine
This is an old Ernst Leitz brass microscope that comes in a wooden case with three extra lenses. Pull-out lens and slide holders and an unopened box of newer O-I glass slides. Microscope made in 1927 and is in working condition- the kids were looking at pond water and could see all sorts of microscopic organisms in it. Very nice condition with no damage, the brass could use a polish if you want it to be shinier and it is missing one of the slide holders, but works fine with the one that it does have. Antique Vintage Test Tube Glass Dr. SH Thompson 1922 Flat Back Embossed Letters
Unique and one of a kind antique test tubes. Embossed letters say" Dr. S.H. Thompson Sterile Tube" These are probably from the 1920s. The patent date is June 13. 1922. This may have been used to hold toothbrushes. It is round in front and flat on the back making it perfect for hanging on a wall. The previous owner used these as a vase for small flowers. It has a lot of possibilities for repurposing. Very old time, apothecary shop look. I have three for sale in total. Selling them individually.
